Justin, Justin...that might be excessive. Especially when you mention Fox. ![LOL  ](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/lol.svg?v=3)
Ummm, just because developers use it as an alternative means nothing.
I swear the internet has more drama queens that jump to conclusion than MTV and Fox News combined.
Not sure if joking or denial![]()
I'm not in denial, thus far we haven't had proof that they are in or out.
The fact RUF is in the game means nothing as far as the Porsche license.
Just RUF I believe.Doesn't TDU2 have Porsche and RUF in it?
Why would it make no sense? Last I checked, there were other manufacturers besides Porsche in ALMS....The partnership with the ALMS would make absolutely no sense, if Porsche would not be in the game.
It would make no sense seeing as how they had all the manufacturers in the last Forza but no ALMS but now they have ALMS and missing one of the main manufacturers of the series. Porsche would be the only one missing. Why would it make no sense? Last I checked, there were other manufacturers besides Porsche in ALMS....
True, Driver San Francisco.
So, if it's a fact that you can't have Ruf and Porsche in the same game, we will then need you to provide these facts with a source backing up your claim. Be it a license agreement from Porsche direct, Ruf direct, or from a game developer that has provided these facts publicly.
We await your back up for your claim.
RUF in game = No Porsche in game
True.
You said it, not us. It's up to you to back up your statement if you claim it's true.
akiraacecombatSo, RUF in game = No Porsche in game
There goes all the claims that said such thing otherwise, and I still wonder why would someone take the licence for two cars, just to use roughly the same model(which is not the same as taking two cars and tag them as different).
Nothing, no claim, having both brands in the same game is pretty silly, for reasons I mention previously.
Not sure if trolling or just bitterNot sure if joking or denial![]()
In fact, the only things that are different from FM3 are that they've got RUF in and have no Porsche in the VIP car pack. Unless RUF and Porsche licenses are mutually exclsuive (which I doubt), it means absolutely nothing.I'm not in denial, thus far we haven't had proof that they are in or out.

Is it? Last time I checked, Porsche doesn't build the CTR3, with its RUF-designed body. And neither does RUF build cars like the RS Spyder or the RSR. Both have a place in the real automotive world, so they both have a place in the virtual automotive world, no? If having both would be silly, one of them would've gone belly up IRL.Nothing, no claim, having both brands in the same game is pretty silly, for reasons I mention previously.
Sounds pretty much like the GT5 forum prior to release - only difference, there were probably two or three issues, all of them bigger than a single manufacturer....and then denial...then they didn't wanted Porsches in the game anyways...then this whole episode will be forgotten...as expected.
They are probably not mutually exclusive. But it is a well known fact that Porsche Licensing is a chore, and that for 22 years, many games have used RUF as a "replacement" for Porsche when they couldn't license it, not to mention that RUF and Porsche have been effectively "mutually excluded" in video games for these 22 years.Unless RUF and Porsche licenses are mutually exclsuive (which I doubt), it means absolutely nothing.
Which MS managed quite well for one of thir franchises at time, no?But it is a well known fact that Porsche Licensing is a chore
There's a difference between ignoring them and taking them for absolute proof.Anyone ignoring those facts *is* in denial.
Agreed.Which MS managed quite well for one of thir franchises at time, no?
And agreed again. There's a difference between ignoring them and taking them for absolute proof.
Agreed. It's just that some people around here act like Porsche has been comfirmed out.Still, there is a valid reason for worrying.
This kills me. While Forza Motorsport 4 will feature RUF, it will not include Porsche cars. As many of you know, since the beginning of the Forza franchise, the Porsche license has been available only through a sub-licensing deal with EA. In Forza 3, we were able to feature more than 35 different Porsche models by offering to collaborate with EA. For Forza 4, we were looking forward to adding even more Porsche cars, and we were especially looking forward to featuring multiple Porsche experiences in our new Autovista mode. In the end, however, EA couldn’t see their way towards collaborating again.
Whats the status of Porsche in Forza Motorsport 4?

Weve asked our contacts at EA to reconsider their position frequently and regularly over the last 18 months. We also reached out to various influential people in gaming to lobby on our behalf, and on your behalf, but that was to no avail.
In our business, we stay friendly with all of the manufacturers and licensors necessary to deliver players rich and innovative automotive experiences. As youd expect, this includes quite a few key people in Porsche circles. To make sure we tried everything, we consulted with these advocates and were happy to find they were already aware of the situation and lobbying from within on behalf of Forza 4--and, despite the result, we thank them for their efforts.
While we respect EAs need to run their business as they see fit, weve regularly collaborated in the past and hope we can find our way back to that approach. Forza had the exclusive license for all Ferrari cars, for example, on the Xbox and PC platforms. But at the end of the day, weve always found that we just werent willing to block other racing games from having Ferraris outright, as we believed that this would do nothing but hurt the racing ecosystem.
Im very sorry for all of this. Fans shouldnt have to think about any of this you should just be able to drive Porsches and Ferraris in the games you love. Porsche makes wonderful cars and Im sorry that we wont have them in Forza 4. As I mentioned earlier, we have added three RUF cars in Forza 4. RUF is a manufacturer in their own right, not simply an aftermarket mod shopthey completely remanufacture and enhance the models that they start from, and the results are unique, incredibly fast, and the cars look great. Losing more than 35 Porsche models is a lost opportunity for Porsche fans (as well as a lost opportunity to make future Porsche fans), but I hope that Forza 4 players understand and enjoy the new makes and models that have taken their place.
JJ72Screw you, EA.
Was interested in NFS the Run and now I have to boycott it.
