Porsche Not in FM4 Confirmed (Originally Porsche may be in Forza 4. Check this out).

I am right there with you. I'm glad I do not own any EA games and I plan on not buying another one. Battlefield 3.... I hate to say it.... but you are off my list.

I mean really you guys have great enthusiasm...but I highly doubt people will join together to boycott EA over a racing game. I mean I'm with you guys, I mean I wasn't planning on buying an EA game with in the next 10 years anyways but this is another nail in the coffin.

EA strikes again... Although it's unfortunate that Porche won't be in the game, I hope that T10 uses this opportunity to add more cars that fans would be interested in driving.

35 models! That's way more than EA have produced in their NFS games. Once the popularity of Autovista spread across car culture, Porsche will find their way into Forza. With the addition of Top Gear and ALMS, it's hard to imagine this game without the manufacturer.

Because this warranted another thread.

Sure it does. It may seem like a bash EA thread, but it's more-so the loss of an manufacturer in Forza, which is unfortunate to all of us.

it's just a personal thing, didn't expect any community action. It's really sad it has to come to this because I really liked Shift 2 and want to continue my support on slightly mad studios, however EA has to be selfish and make such butt hurt decisions....I can't buy their games no more. The lost of 35 porches, many of them classic models you won't find in other games is just soooooo bad.

I love how Turn 10 makes EA out to be the bad guys, when they would probably have Porsche in FM4 if Microsoft and Turn 10 didn't screw EA over with the Ferrari license.

Seriously people, save the hatred for EA, they're pretty much just getting their own back here and karma is biting Turn 10 in the ass.

I don't plan on starting a widespread boycott. And I doubt that was his intention either. But as for me and my household, no more EA.

You're absolutely right! Regardless, this is the most talked about topic in Forza. If the creation of this thread actually made you upset enough to post that... then you should think about your priorities. If you don't have a contribution, rather just gripes and complaints, why even post at all?

I was considering battlefield 3, but that's now out of the question.
Same with The Run.
In fact I'm going to go out and sell HP, Undercover, and Shift.

Now, are we allowed to discuss hate mail on GTPlanet? :mischievous:

Wow (non sarcastic) I honestly didn't even know that happened. That's shady...

Why EA gotta hate on FM 4 :grumpy:

This is bad news indeed. I'm still getting BF 3 and wasnt getting NFS: The Run, etc anyway.

FM 4 didnt have to wait so long to confess this. Was sort of obvious with their sudden interest in RUF. They never gave 2 cents bout them before right? I dont see RUFs in my FM 3

Screw EA, they steal the good cars and put them in crappy games.

Um no, shift 2 is a good game actually. Not in same ballpark as FM 3 sure. But its a good game. But credit goes to SMS (the dev studio) for that

I think they were waiting to settle the licensing agreement before they confirmed or denied. I can almost guarantee you that they already had Porsche models ready to go for FM4, and most likely still have them in their studio, just incase it got settled. This is one of those time I would love to have the developer's version of the game :P

Microsoft/Turn 10 didn't just screw EA over with Ferrari, but also Atari too. Why do you think EA games never had Ferraris (even though Forza had Porsche?) and why TDU2 didn't have Ferrari? Microsoft/Turn 10 are greedy and refused to let other developers have access to cars made by Ferrari.

So what has happened now? EA has basically said "Fine, no Ferrari for us? No Porsche for you".

Good on them I say, Microsoft and Turn 10 had it coming 👍

You read the article right? Microsoft would let EA use Ferraris if EA let them use Porsche, but they refused.

Microsoft didn't keep their end of the deal.

Take Shift 1 for example. Microsoft let EA use Ferrari but only on 360, PS3 and PC owners didn't get those cars because of Microsoft's greed. When Shift 2 rolls around there isn't any Ferrari at all, so of course EA is gonna get fed up and say "Ok, two can play at that game".

If Microsoft didn't screw other developers over and prevent them from using Ferrari this would not have happened, but they had to be greedy and try and lock down Ferrari from other developers so what do you expect? It sucks that Porsche won't be in FM4 but I have to applaud EA for doing what they've done because Microsoft and Turn 10 have had this coming for years now.

What are you smoking? TDU2 had a trailer specifically made to showcase Ferrari. In fact, Ferrari is the reason Lamborghini isn't in TDU2; Atari could afford to pick one or the other....How do you also explain Gran Turismo's partnership with Ferrari, then? Or the fact a Ferrari-only game was made for the PS3 exclusively?

As for the topic, hopefully Porsche reconsiders its relationship with EA when the contract containing their partnership expires.

TDU2 does have Ferraris but you can't modify them to the extent that you can modify the other cars in the game.

I stand corrected, had a brainfart regarding TDU2 there. Point still stands though.

Regarding GT5 and FC:TP, neither of those games are on Xbox 360. EA's Shift series is however, and Microsoft screwed EA over with that.

The answer is simple, T10 have the Ferrari license for exclusive use in XBOX and PC, that license doesn't apply for PS or Nintendo platforms, that's why GT5 has ferraris and why there's a ferrari challenge game for SONY and NINTENDO Consoles

Its a sad day. Oh well... Hopefully we get allot of Rufs and maybe a few other ones like maybe Gambella or something.

Asphalt 6 and the new game for Sony's Vita has Ferrari's, awesome ones too. Microsoft isn't screwing anyone else but EA. But it just looks like MS is pimpin out Ferrari but EA gets none no matter how much cash they throw at them.

The War isn't over, they could very well come to an agreement down the line with Shift 3 and DLC for FM4. In the mean time its Ruf time. BTR? Any BTR's in there?

No I'm not saying that, I'm actually saying you shouldn't bother to ban EA games from yourself since it wont matter. I just don't like EA games in general, but this Porsche thing has annoyed me for a while it probably started back on...GT1 and GT2 for me.:grumpy:

The Ferrari 458 was removed from the Xbox version of TDU2 because Microsoft claimed it as a Forza exclusive, so there may be something to the theory being presented.

Sucks that they are for sure out, on the plus side though at least the car list won't be bloated with 30 different 911's.

Also, at least they are still in F3 so I can at least get my Porsche fix on the 360.

I know it is always about money, but if Porsche is rolling in it, why do they need EA's? It does not make much sense. I know they probably do not see it this way but if anything being in a series like NFS hurts their brand image. I know more age brackets than 8-18 play NFS but seriously, who plays NFS and goes to buy a Porsche or thinks that Porsche are somehow cool, even as a brand? Someone at Porsche must think this is worth their while for some other reason that money.

I know when I first played GT2 I fell in love with the Ford GT40 and to this day that is still my dream car. In fact learning that that car existed and what it had done started my whole passion for cars. None of that is in the NFS series. Just like the GT40, many Porsches are more than just cars, they are moving pieces of automotive achievement. Achievement that NFS does not display or care to recognize. Achievement that will be lost on future generations. As cheesy as this sounds, EA is robbing people of car passion. Video games have replaced the posters on the walls and the James Dean's. They are what is left to those that do not already know.

In many ways this is why circuit racing has not caught on in America. We are still stuck in the dark ages watching cars crash into each other in an arena. It is why more and more kids are dieing in needless car accidents (I say this because 2 people I know, 1 a friend, have died because of other people's lack of respect for driving), street racing their friends or driving distracted. Not because Porsche is in NFS or NASCAR glorifies wrecks, they simply do not care, do not want to care, and do not appreciate what a car is, an achievement.
