Porsche will not be in GT5

If there's a reason for Porsche not wanting their cars in GT5 would probably due to the fact that PD is closely associated with Nissan, especially with the development of Porsche's biggest nemesis the GT-R. Already Porsche have accused Nissan of fabricating GT-R's times at Nordschliefe and I wouldn't be surprised if Porsche would invoke that that there's a definite conflict of interest when it comes to PD and Nissan. If this was the case it's too bad because if there's an epic showdown in GT5, it's definiteyl between the 911 GT3 and the V-Spec GT-R.

One thing that has always confused me... we have Volkswagon & Audi... why don't we have Lambo...

And now that Porsche owns most of VAG... perhaps they might make it in now too?

This has been discussed till death.

When GT4 Came out, and I think GT5p as well, Porsche did not already have a controlling interest in VAG..... However, I don't think this will change anything, since Lambos of Bugattis have never been in the game, and VW or Audi is not in as much of a conflict with Nissan as porsche is, because nissan's banchmark when the designed the GTR was the 911 Turbo.

Um.. there was a hidden Lambo in GT2 if my memory serves.

GT3 to be precise, mate.

I really doubt there will be Porsches, though. If there are Rufs, I'm sure there won't be Porsches. Rufs are tuned Porsches, go figure they will be better. Thus, Porsche does not want gamers to test the comparison, and picking Ruf the winner. On the other hand, if there are not Rufs, then maybe there will be Porsches. I like my Rufs, though!

For me, it doesn't matter if there'll be RUFs or Porsches.. The main thing is that they will be included 👍

RUFs are NOT tuned Porsches and they have a pretty good relationship since Porsche delivers RUF with their cars.

RUFs are built from unmarked Porsche bodies and chassis, right? Do you think Porsche would like to see one of its very own cars getting beaten by a RUF?

Why the hell would Porsche care if Ruf's faster? Porsche already knows the RGT, rTurbo, CTR2, etc. are faster because that's what Ruf set out to do when they came around.

This argument is just silly. Porsche doesn't give a flying crap if Ruf's are faster. Porsche is more interested in cornering every market in the automobile world, and is probably more than content with knowing they're more popular than Ruf anyways.

The only reason Porsche ever had trouble with PD was because of EA's grasp. Now, it all comes down to if PD & Porsche can agree on a contract, and I highly doubt one of the issues will be Ruf.

your right ruf , porcshe same thing to me as long as there is either one of them i dont care which one is included in GT5.

I think we can all agree that if we have some variant of a porsche (wether it be a RUF, gemballa, etc.) we will be satisfied taking each one of them for a spin (in-car cam, of course) around the ring!!!

Oh, and by the way, Porsche wouldn't sell RUF some of the chassis they make for their cars if Porsche thought they were going to be a threat.... RUF is a very exclusive manufacture of cars that are basically built to the buyer's specifications and makes way less sales than Porsche, which is all a car company cares about in the end....

Not good enough. Rufs, Gemballas, 9ff, & TechArt are all great, but none of them have the equivalent of a 917, a 962, a 959 rally car, or an RS Spyder.

Heck, I really want a GT3 RSR, just so that I won't have to use a Super GT car.

Well of course! No porsche-on-steroids could ever beat the almighty 917s, 962s, or RS-spyders! And I agree, ill take flying lizard's GT3 RSR (#45 please...) over any super-GT car!!!

This argument is just silly.

Silly is to think that GT won't have damage because of Ferrari don't wanting to see its cars destroyed. Does it make any sense? No. That's silly. Ferraris aren't indestructible.

We all have our different opinions. We all may be wrong. All that we know, is that we don't know nothing about the game, and we can only speculate about what is it going to bring or not.

If Porsche will not come in GT5 it will be a big disappointment.... :nervous:

Of course I would like to see Porsche in GT5, not just because is my favorite supercar brand, but it will be great to see some epic battles with other manufacturers.

Dont forget Kazunori Yamauchi is a big Porsche fan.... :P

I hope at least Polyphony Digital includes a wider variety of RUF. :D:tup:

What about forza motorsport 2? That game has ferrarais that you crash all you want.... So why cant Gran Turismo do it?:dunce:

Precisely! That's why it is a silly argument, yet everyone said it was a fair one to use.

Hmm, how about. A Porsche dealer with RUF in the tuner village?

It's a win win situation.

Definitely not a win for RUF.

They are considered a legitimate automobile manufacturer, despite using Porsche models as a base.

They would likely consider that an insult after the long standing good reputation between RUF and Polyphony Digital.

;)

Considering it would not depict what RUF really is, no its not a win-win situation. RUF and PD have a big relationship and I don't see them reducing RUF, a certified large volume manufacter(although nowhere near Porsche volume), into simply a tuner.

Speculating that Ferrari didn't want to be in because they didn't want damage done to their cars and have people get the wrong idea about them in a crash makes sense.

Speculating that Porsche doesn't want to be in GT because they don't want their cars being beat by Rufs is stupid. Porsche doesn't care if Ruf is faster. As I said, Porsche knows Rufs will be faster because that's what Ruf originally set out to do.

I'm sure Ruf would love to see PD call its CTR3 a tuner Porsche. Alois would pull out of GT so fast, it's not even funny.

Love how even with RUF being featured in GT since GT2, people still don't know crap about them as they are still reffering to them as just a "tuner". There's a difference between building a new car on a chassis from another car maker and taking a standard car and applying modifications to make it go faster. Again, RUF is a Full blown and certified Manufacterer, not a tuner. Either we are getting Both Manufacterers or only one.

Ruf technically is a tuner, since they do offer a good range of kits & conversions for Porsche's, but yes, they are also a certified manufacturer. :)

I agree!

RUF, Gemballa are "Porsche Tuner", basically they provide aftermarket parts for Porsche and highly modified their cars models.

Like the Gemballa Mirage GT (Porsche Carrera GT)

I think, personally, that it is almost guaranteed that RUF will be in GT5 because they were very well represented in GT3 and GT4... But, however, I do not think porsche will be in GT5 for a number of reasons: 1) Porsche is mad at nissan regarding the GT-R (lap times at nurburgring...), and we all know how close PD and Nissan are... 2) Porsche has a lon-standing relationship with EA and their Need for Speed series, and might have obligations to be in their games, and not in GT... 3) Although we don't want to admit it (I am a HUGE fan of Porsches), it appears that porsche doesnt want to be in the GT series (they have been in like the last 4 or 5 Need for Speeds, and in both Forza Motorsport 1 and 2)
But thats just my opinion!
