The sad thing is, is that it would not be unusual for Porsche to do something like this (boycott being in the game for some reason, or wanting an obscene amount of money to license their cars in the game), however it seems odd that Porsche would allow VW & Audi to be in the game, seeing as Porsche is the parent company of VW, Audi, and a couple other european car companies.....
i guess all we can do is hope that Porsche has a changing of heart.... But we still have RUF to look forward to!

Porsche only has a controlling stake in the VAG. Even if they did, they still act as individual companies so I doubt they would have a say in having an inclusion in a game.

-> Got this from the other thread:
just to clarify, although it helps its chances because pescarolo have a good relationship with sony/pd and have appeared in gt before, there have been plenty of gran turismo-sponsored cars before that never appeared, such as:

WatermarkedImageHandler.ashx

(the gran turismo sponsorship is on the spoiler, i have the model of this very car at home, is how i know )

oh, and i just found this too:
WatermarkedImageHandler.ashx
^ I could only dream. :sly:

well t10 has a license to, obviously. Thats not a reason...

i doubt there is a monopol for that ;)

I began to imagine the best scenarios... imagine... you're in a Carrera GT on the starting grid of the nordschleife and you're waiting for the 356 gets two minutes in front of you... and here we go the pursuit begins... Whatever, I'm just dreaming.:dopey:

You're having some sick, disturbing dreams. No offense. If there was one thing about GT4 that made me want to smash my TV to pieces and throw my PS2 out the window.. it was having to wait forever for the slow cars to get ahead of you in those driving missions! ESPECIALLY in that SLR on Nurb!

On topic: that old Amar interview where Kaz says something like 'Porsche is OK with us damaging their cars' was verification enough for me that Porsche will make an appearance in GT5.

Agreed but what if instead the mission was a staggered start and you started at the start of the lap and the slower cars further ahead. No waiting required :)

Oh absolutely. That's all I could think as every one of those like 136 seconds ticked by...

How wonderful, someone asked for the source. I didn't really need those last 15 minutes of my life anyway :sly:

On vehicle damage:

"K.Y :thats also coming. the negotiations are taking place already. the only problem is that some manufacturer like porsche (NOTICE HE SAID PORSCHE, DOES THAT MEAN SOMTHING ALREADY HAPPINING) say's its ok to crash and total our cars we have no problem, and other manufacturer like Ferrari say's : we won't allow you to show some damage on our cars even if its the side view mirror damage ."

- Amar's post.

Ferrari is also in Forza, like most other manufacturers that are also in GT...

Thats not amar.

The sound cut out about half way through.
Did he say anything about an exclusive Porsche deal after that?

I've never played Forza before - the car physics look a bit cartoon like?

No. he mentioned the Porsche only once and never said a word about it again. I don't know how The Vanishing Boy decides GT can't have Porsche now (not saying it will anyway)

Porsche was already shown off at E3 with a 997 GT2.

Shown off at E3 in a Gran Turismo game? What you mean?

As Northstar said I was talking about Forza 3, because johnny dazed asked about the Le mans Forza 3 video and The Vanishing Boy seems to think that because Forza 3 has Porsche then Gran Turismo can't. Sorry for the confusion.

Also, I'm not sure what Forza's car list has to do with GT5.

Indeed.

I don't understand how Porsche and Lamborghini are not added..... What is PD's excuse? Why would Ferrari ever not want their cars damaged in GT5 if their cars are damaged in many other racing games? There must be another reason. Money? Come on, that's a joke. I'm hoping and praying that they are included, but it seems so difficult.

Also, it does make more sense and add a lot of hype to not disclose such information about Porsche, Lamborghini, etc. I think we're in for a big surprise, from a sooner than expected release, to new manufacturers, to tracks. It'll all be revealed in one moment, I suppose. A new trailer should be the means by which we see what we will get. Perhaps a new video of a Lamborghini and Porsche racing on Top Gear's test track. You know?

I think if they wont be in GT PSP than they wont be in GT5 either.. so on october we will know

I can't see manufactures charging PD to have their car included in GT5 - if they do then their PR/marketing manager needs taking outside and shooting.

PD is the best form of media in the world for promoting cars to existing petrol heads and future prospective owners.

Manufactures should be paying PD to include their cars in my opinion!!!

Do you think Lotus/Aston martin/ Mini benefitted from being in films like James Bond and the italian Job - they sure bloody did!!

Some allow PD to license for free, however most make them pay. This is because they are companies which are in business to make money.

Fredzy I agree with you a 100% Dan Greenawalt is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to cocky! That video makes me sick for three reasons. 1 He thinks he acuratly represented la mans also FM is good but we all know it's nowhere near the gt series population and garphics. 2 Xbox 360 is kind of like a old man running a marathon c'mon grand pa you can do it! It hardware is limited compared to the ps3's cell processor and blu ray disc storage fm 3 need two disc where as gt 5 is one disc if they do add another disc it's because they wanted it to be seperate! Now i'm not a fan boy I own all three next gen hardware however I do see the difference in the graphics to me i prefere ps3 over 360. And finally 3 We all know what Dan said! Gran Turismo is better than Forza 3 because of it's history. period.

I am well aware of that we need Porsche and that RUF is something else. Porsche is history in racing. I would buy and race them all in gt5. i even love them more then Ferrari (except for those screaming v12's ferrari used, wich i just love).

also some other car I would love to see and i know it's off topic but a Renault 5 turbo would be so cool!
primaracing1.jpg

they raced before the Forumla 1 quit a few years back. when they coold get away with illigal things on the cars. great stories over that years.

If PD fails to secure Porsche for GT5, saying i'll be disappointed is an understatement. I want Porsche V Ferrari battles. I want to hear the wail of a tuned flat six on the nordschliefe. IMO, Porsche and motorsport go hand in hand. It would only be logical for them to be in GT5

Although I hate to say this but it is true that I'll be disappointed if PD does not introduce Porsche and Lamborghini into the series despite doing so much for us and I really appreciate that. But, if there is one more thing to include, it is those cars. 👍
