I don't think that it's really up to PD ,we cannot say that they never tried to include Porsche as They introduce the 996 GT3 in Gran Turismo 3 (one of Yamauchi's personal car)but was removed from western versions for licencing reasons !

In my humble opinion they're well aware of the big reputation and influence of Porsche in the automotive industry.

Porsche HAS TO BE in GT5,even if it's not then I'll probably buy the game but I'll be very disapointed though.

I'm starting to think of some kind of petition : with GTPlanet huge memberbase and all Gran Turismo fans all around the world and the internet it can really end up into something huge ,at least huge enough to stimulate Polyphony Digital into licencing both Porsche and Lamborghini .

Manufactors that any average half-assed car game can afford nowadays .

YES! they need to be in GT5, and Lamborghinis too....

Do not petition to PD, they are doing the best they can, petition to Porsche (and while we are at it (Lambo). Right them letters. Hell if every member of this forum wrote Porsche/Lambo a letter about how Porsche/Lambo should be in GT because its a mature and prestigious experience and not stupid games like NFS that are childish and tarnish the quality image of a brand such as Porsche/Lambo, then I think they may just notice (but that does not guarantee that they will care :grumpy: ).

I want porsche in GT5 but if it's not there I won't be that much worried. Why ? I love porsches but I would rather have more american cars than 2 brands that cost a lot to be in the game (porsche, lambo).

You rather have American cars which will most likely be in the game than two popular brands which will bring an extra unique experience and gameplay?

Think about it - you can have all the versus matches you can drive but back in your mind, you will never EVER be able to pit your favorite American muscle power cars against Porsche and Lamborghini.

So, no, you KNOW you rather have Porsche and Lamborghini than "additional" American cars. 👍

I still cannot fathom seeing a Lambo, Porsche, Ferrari, Viper, Vette, and a Ford GT in the same race in Gran Turismo. The thought, alone, is mind-boggling.

In what those brands will bring unique experience and gameplay? I mean we got Ferrari in GT5P it didn't changed the GT series a lot.

So basically you are telling him (and in consequence, everyone who shares his opinion) that we can't think for ourselves? I'm sorry, but I'd rather have more american cars than Porsches and Lamborghinis, which in fact (if they are present in the game) won't be as much as they should be to even make their presence in the game noticeable.

It will when GT5 is released. BTW, nice avatar :P There's a good possibility than much more Ferrari's will be included in GT5 proper. If the 250 GTO is included, it will be awesome!

And you know what he really wants based not on his opinion but yours?

I don't think them being included/left out will make much difference in the game as a whole. If they are included it will just be another brand or two to try out and maybe a few more 1 make races.

That being said I hope Porsche as well as RUF and Gemballa are in the game as that would make for some fun battles.

the thing is with Ruf you will never get classics like the Carrera RS 2.7, 959, 993 Turbo or the Carrera GT. And none of their race cars. I would love the 911 GT1, 997 GT3 RSR and the 917 to name a few.

I would love to see Porsche in GT5. They are not the fastest cars out there, but history behind them is worthy of Gran Turismo title.

My gut is telling me that Porsche and Lamborghini won't be in the game. :indiff:

Me too. I'm sure that PD would have licensed them and modeled the cars by now (if we see a November/December '09 release date) and would show at least something of them at E3 if we were to have them in the full game.

...But then again it is PD...

If we assumed that PD got the rights to Porsche and Lambo tomorrow, how long do we think it would take to get the essential cars ready? If we assume a 2009 release date that is...

It takes about 6 months of man(or female) hours to make a single car model. Granted there are sometimes multiple people working on a single car at once but still it takes a long time. Personally I could easily see a Lambo or Porsche DLC pack sometime after GT5's release. I would have to problem paying $10 a pack for like 10-20 cars. To me this is the most likely scenario.

i dunno man i still got hope. if you think about who knew we where going to get nascar and that came out of nowhere, so PD can still drop the bomb on is 👍

im just wondering but.. maby they will say if porches and lambos will be in Gt5 when the next Playstation offical magazine will come out?? :) i hardly doubt that though O.o

I guess you could say the same with the WRC

with the inclusion of Daytona i had a feeling that oval racing would be included

Good point.

The fact that Kaz mentioned before that they were discussing damage with Porsche atleast gave hope that negotiations were being made at some point.

Also, the Official GT5 E3 Trailer had no Ferrari's on it. So if we were to turn back the clock and say Ferrari's were never officially revealed in GTHD and GT5P respectively, im sure you'd get posts like "omg still no Ferrari, PD you suck!" or "please include Ferrari's PD kthxbai".

They continue to pull surprises to our sheer amazement, so I wouldnt be surprised to see Porsche and/or Lambo in the final product :)

Good point. Likewise, no one saw Ferrari coming to GT until the GT HD trailer showing the 599 so PD could be dropping the biggest bomb ever without even announcing it.

I'd be fine with pre-90's lineup from both Porsche and Lamborghini. that would mean that we would get 911, 924, 944, 928 etc etc.. and Diablo, Espada, Miura, Urraco..

not having porsche and lambo would make GT5 look kind of stupid because nearly all racing games nowdays have those. I want porsche more than lamborghini though :) After all GT has allways been about car collection and if forza has more manufacturers it will make GT look a bit bad.

Am i not right in saying the porsche, lamborghini etc are all part of the Audi / Volkswagon group?

Surely with Audi pro-actively pushing GT5 in that recent short film, and with full permission to use Volkswagons, Seat, Skodas etc, they would automatically give permission?

Yes but just because Porsche have a controlling stake in VW, and VW own Audi and it's other assests they all operate indivually. It's not a bundle thing that if they get VW they automatically get Audi, Seat, Lambo etc.
