Type 901 Evolution

1964 901 - Chassis #37, owned by Alois Ruf since '89. He restored this in 2004 for the 911's 40th anniv.

^ That's true, but dude how can you not want the Yellow Bird? Or the CTR-2 and CTR-3?

It be cool if Porsche and Ruf were both in, and you can tune your Porsche at Ruf in the game.

Because RUF was in GT4, we can assume that it will be in GT5.... as my name suggests, i would love nothing more than to have a GT3 (or any Porsche) in GT5.... but alas, i feel that Porsche will be yet again absent from Gran Tursimo... but i'll be fine with RUF.... for a while at least....
on the other hand, not having porsche means not having any of their cars, PERIOD. no 917s, no 962s, no 959s, no GT3s, no GT1s, the list just goes on and on and on

Forgot about those...ok maybe I'll make an exception for the CTR Yellow Bird :). And yes, that would be a good idea. Kind of like the tuning village in GT4.

997 GT3, 911 SC RS and Cayman S.. only P-cars I'd love to own.

Really? Just those 3?

Here's my list:

356 Coupe
1972 911 S - '72 for the unique oil cap location.
924 Carrera GT
914/6
928 S4 or GTS
964 RSA
964 Turbo (965)
959
968
993 C2
993 GT2
996 GT3 mk. I or II - I do like the spoiler in the mk. I better.
Carrera GT
997 GT3 mk. I
Cayman

I want the Le mans Porsches (the 917s, 962s, etc). The best Porsche for me would have to be the 911 GT1 :)

^And nice Gemballa btw...Hope they make it in too.

Does that include the original Avalanche? (google it if you don't know what it is).

Yes, I could only find pics of those two on wiki.

Here's some more. :)

Yes, because 930 SC RS is one of the last proper Porsches, 997 GT3 RS is the purest trackday car from them for the street, and Cayman S, mostly because it's built in Finland and with more power and proper differential it would completely trounce the outdated RR layout brethrens.

One or all of 997 GT3RS, 997 Cup and 911 RSR + The 'Ring = Heaven

Plus a Gulf liveried 917 too, please.

I apologize for the double post but I forgot to add the 917/30 Can Am. The most ridiculous race car on the planet.

From Wikipedia:

"The 917/30 was the most powerful sports car racer ever built and raced. The 5.374 litre 12 cylinder (90.0 x 70.4 mm) twin-turbocharged engine could produce 1,580 bhp (1,180 kW) in qualifying tune, with twin turbochargers run up to full boost, a simply astonishing 39 psi, though it usually raced with around 1,100 bhp (820 kW) at 7,800 rpm to preserve the engine. Whilst weighing only in at 1800 lb (816 kg), giving it a power to weight of 1967.36 bhp/tonne in qualifying tune and 1369.68 bhp/tonne in race tune! The 917/30 dominated the Can-Am series during the 1973 season. The 917/30 could go from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 1.9 seconds, 0-100 mph (160 km/h) in 3.9 seconds, 0-200 mph (320 km/h) in 10.9 seconds, and on to a top speed of 260 mph (420 km/h) +.These staggering levels of performance, the attendant fuel consumption of the engines, and ever increasing risk, has led to the 917/30 sometimes being cited as the car that killed Can-Am racing."

^ That car is awesome, as well as being very politically incorrect in regard with today's green initiatives and regulations

Or this one...

Plus maybe a 936 too...

And a later Le Mans car too... the GT1...

Most of all, I want this...

There are no 930 SCRS. But I will say that the SC RS while one of the purer 911s isn't one of the last proper Porsches. Heck, I'd even argue that the 964 3.8 RS, the 993 RS or the 993 GT2 are just as pure and are proper Porsches. All of them are pretty rare though.

[/QUOTE]

That's a 917/30. Awesome car though.

The 930 chassis designation is reserved for turbo 911s. The SC RS, and all other RS spec 911s, are naturally aspirated.

I never said that the SCRS didn't exist. I just said that there are no turbo SC RS...

So, you're telling me that there's differences in the chassis of SC RS and Turbo models? By all means, point them out, if there's any other differences than the aspiration, weight or gearing..

Someone should rename this thread to "Porsche pics and videos" and move it to the car board.
Seriously. I've mentioned the Off-Topic-ness of this thread before, but it's just sill now. None of the posts relate to the question in the title. Plus, it's essentially a wishlist thread. I don't understand why it's still open.

The SC/RS had a limited production run of only 20, so it's more of an R than an RS. Like the ST, R & RS 911s that preceded it, the car went on a weight reduction program. It is normally aspirated. Also a 3.0 Flat 6. IIRC, this car was never sold to the public, just racers that entered them in rallies.

The 911 Turbo, commonly referred to as Type 930 by Porsche insiders & Porschephiles, featured a wide body & are much more luxurious. It also uses the Turbo technology that was learned from the 917/30 (Can-Am) and applied it to the 3.0 Flat 6. The 930 is a pure street car.

EDIT - Here's the weights. I had to do some kg to lbs conversion...Fun!

SC/RS - 2116.43 (960 kg)
930 ~ 2825 (depending on trim, etc.)
