ericdemoryGT said the Nissan looked like the Porsche. You say you didn't find any similar in them, and now you say this? :indiff:

You missed my post entirely:

RACECAR
I'm really looking, but I can't see how either car looks like the other.

At the time, I was looking. Now that I have looked(past tence, not present) thats the only similarity I found so I have no idea what your saying here.

Woah guys, its becoming pretty ridiculous now, seriously.

Like i said, they have a similar body style because theyre Group C cars (if you dont know what a Group C car is, google it), i dont know why you guys make such a big, stupid, discussion out of this.

We are a tight-knit community for the most part, but we're all just waiting for GT5. In the meantime, we bicker. Nothing serious!

A Gallardo and a Murcielago are not similar cars, RACECAR. What do you think?

And when did I say they were or for that matter, even bring them up?:odd:

Racecar wasn't even talking about these cars.

Clearly, but he wasn't talking about the Porsche Dauer 962 and the Nissan R92CP either because he would have known they look alike.

Well do YOU think they are similar?:)

So because I don't agree with you that they look alike(and even after putting pictures up comparing them side-by-side), I must not be talking about these exact cars?:odd: I guess I can't share my subjective opinion without somehow lamborghinis being brought up because it disagrees with your subjective opinion then?

Well do YOU think they are similar?:)

Again, the Lamborghinis? I guess we should start a "Do you think these look similar" thread since my take on the 962 and the R92CP has been blown way out of proportion

Also, you double posted.

They look superficially similar - they have four wheels, a wing, a cockpit and a general silhouette of a late-80s, early-90s Group C race car. At that level, almost all cars look similar...

But the details of the cars separate them (look at the cockpits - no similarities except "cockpit"; look at the rear wing - no similarities except "wing"; look at the locations of the vents and ducts - no similarities; look at the headlights - no similarities). They don't actually look alike at all.

To me.

But if you think they do, that's your call. I wouldn't be in a hurry to agree with you, but if you honestly think a road-legal road car based on a 1984 group C car looks similar to a 1992 group C race car then that's what you think.

Personally i think porsches are ugly and their designers are laziest designers ever.

Can anyone see any differences. Its just plain lazy!!

You've also got 3 different models there, the 2007 Is a 997 911 Carrera S, the 2008 is a 997 911 GT2 and the 2009 is a Normal 997 911 Carrera

Yeah I read that and was going to make a thread but decided to post in here first. I really don't understand this and wish someone would confront him with this stupid Porsche signed an exclusive deal thing. Porsches are in too many other racing games for them not to be in GT5...

If the models etc for Porsche are already made can they still sign a last minute contract with PD ?.

This is what I bet happened. EA has a very good relationship with Porsche. Their contract has been tied down for quite some time. I bet that EA actually has an exclusive contract with Porsche. T10 and MS I am sure did not accept this and went to Porsche with a case full of money and said, "guess what there is a clause in that contract and you will let us use your brand and oh by the way nobody else gets to besides us, and EA."

Not NFS Shift or Dirt 2 i think a new racing game is coming from either EA or Codemasters but i think Porsche is in there.I know i heard it somewhere.

IMO the RUF's look a lot tighter than normal Porsche's so I'm not too worried.

This. Not a big lost really as RUF fills the void nicely. Never bothered me in 1-4, so as long as RUF is in there, the Porsche name doesnt really matter to me.

we dont lose anything big.. Porsche lose a lot.. the best game in the world wont have their cars  we still have RUF that are pretty much the same.. ;)
