Then they would have to had to de-scale them prior to implementing them into the game, which makes no sense. Personally, I think they just took the models from GT4 and adjusted them slightly, since both car lists are very similar and look to have similar polly counts.
If you know anything about how Polygon models work then you'll know that you don't "de-scale" anything, apart from your kettle maybe.
You simply reduce the poly count, even the standard version of Maya has a tool to do this, and I'm sure PD has their own tool for reducing the poly count of their models, then all thats required is a little clean up of the model where thing's didn't quite go according to plan, seriously, it is quite a simple process.
No, its GT5s high poly models adjusted to run on the PSP. Which means they probably modelled the cars to GT5s standard first.
The jury's out on this one I'm afraid. The odds are that that comment is slight mistranslation or is simply a misunderstanding. Anyone who's seen or played GT PSP will be able to tell you that there is a clear noticable difference in quality of the car models for cars also seen in GT4 and cars that wern't in GT4 like the Corvette ZR1, and the cas that wern't in GT4 look noticably better. The logical explenation and this not only makes sense to explain why this quality difference exists but also makes sense from a work load standpoint, is that all the cars from GT4 were models ported from GT4 and that the models that wern't in GT4 are ported from GT5. This would make sense and at the same time doesn't contradict what Kaz said it just puts a slant on it.Just to add, the appearence of RUF in GT5 is highly likely. Maybe it was a bad translation, but in this:
https://www.gtplanet.net/yamauchi-interview-reveals-more-on-gt5-development/#more-3837
Kaz says that the cars in GTPSP were not recycled models from previous games, but used the same models as those in GT5. This implies that most (if not all) of the cars in GTPSP will be in GT5. GTPSP is confirmed to have 2 RUFs. It is not confirmation by any means, but it is a strong likelihood.

Other evidence to suggest the car models are not GT5's is if you look for the same mistakes in the models that were in GT4 and the exact same mistakes are there in GT PSP.
We dont know which and how many cars will be transferable.
💡
Kazunori said that we can transfer our cars from the PSP to the PS3 right?
RUFs are on Gran Turismo PSP so there will be RUFs on GT5.
Am i thinking right?
We know you can only transfer 100 cars...
And I think that makes more sense as the number of cars both games share, than simply capping you at 100 transfers (there's no point in that...I mean you'll have the best cars transferred, so why not allow players to transfer more?).
So when is the sub-exclusive Porsche contract up anyway?

March??
Yep, its a conspiracy. Porsche have promised to sell their next license to PD once the exclusivity deal with EA runs out. PD have dealyed the release so they can get Porsche in GT5. True story, its absolute fact honest.
You should add the unloading vid too.
It's like this. We've been over this. Nine times out of ten, you give me a thousand good reasons on why these models are so good.

Maybe because in the contract EA specified the GT franchise. At the time they had the agreement all these new franchises didn't even exist. How come I keep hearing this "exclusive EA license" stuff when I see Porsche cars in tons of other games?
I.e. Forza, Project Gotham, and even random iPhone games, etc.
