Portal 2

So, I logged into steam today for the first time in months, and 'Presto!' new DLC for Portal 2. I had no idea it was coming. So I am downloading it now, in anticipation of making my own test chambers, and then being frustrated at why it does not work...

Here's hoping it's good!

I got both games actually. Managed to pick up Portal 2 when it was on a sale recently. Great game, but damn! Some puzzles do require quite a bit of thinking to manipulate the portals to your liking to get to the exit.

I don't actually have a great creative skills so I'm not going to actually build anything (as it'll be piss poor)! However it will be interesting to see if there is anyone who isn't part of Valve create some levels that are exceedingly taxing, more so than the game itself.

I've had both games since they were on sale in the Christmas sale. I just created my first test chamber. Testing it out right now actually.

Ah, finished Portal 2!

Ah, I see why people were raving about it. Its actually pretty good and there were some puzzles that was confusing till the "Ah ha!" moment came.

The ending was quite different than I expected actually. Still the classic GLADOS sarcasm though.

Not yet checked out any of the new user created levels though. Assuming its similar to Big Little Planet style?

Both games were on sale for a Weekend Madness sale and I picked up the bundle for under $10. And have beaten both games, and I LOVE GLaDOS. She's definitely one of the best AI characters ever. I love the extended length and the "YAY I'm finished with...aw crap!" moments. And I love how you end up defeating Wheatley.

My only sad point is...if they make a Portal 3, either Chell's not going to be in it, or GLaDOS isn't going to be in it unless Chell, for whatever reason, returns to Aperture Science labs, but after the events in Portal 2, I don't see why she would. Maybe a Black Mesa person will stumble upon the place and Chell will return to rescue GLaDOS or something.

If they make a Portal 3, the plot will be that Chell sits there hugging the Companion Cube that gets spat out of the shed at the end of Portal 2, and then starts questioning why Valve won't make that the plot of the next game.

Spoiler alert (highlight the following text with cursor to reveal):Chell gets out at the end of Portal too, but still ends up back in there for P2. Maybe she'd been cloned by Aperture, so maybe the same could happen again, just another Chell clone in suspended animation that GLaDOS doesn't know about.

She got out, but, Valve went back and added the security bot thingy dragging you back, so that's pretty well explained. And, besides, then, GLaDOS still wanted you dead. But, at the end of Portal 2, GLaDOS deems Chell too dangerous and lets her leave.

And...if the original Chell was too dangerous, if there were clones (despite the fact that Wheatley mentions that everyone else in the labs is dead), GLaDOS would've destroyed them. Unless they do something like "GLaDOS dumbed Chell's intelligence." Which...Chell couldn't speak. I mean...she jumped when Wheatley asked her to speak...so...I don't think that would work...and it would just seem like a cheap ploy.

Sorry for the spoilers. Even with them....both games are still worth playing.
