Looks like a good project car. How does the underside of the car look?
How easy is it to get parts?

Easy as pie, I have everything i need in the back yard, including an extra 289. As far as I know the inner fender wall needs to be hammered out/swapped with a falcon panel that we also already have. The front fender with light assembly is in the backyard, the grill is in the backyard and the bumper is there as well. its really just a lot of cosmetic damage. I think as soon as I start working on it, it'll just all fall into place and look like the car it once did, and sound like it once did. 289 special underneath the hood :dopey: it sounds so mean and loud. Other than getting to work on it. Its still drivable and everything, just completely illegal to drive it in its condition.

Also just an fyi, my dad has had about 4 or 5 Comets in the past going back to when he was young.

How the hell did you get ahold of a Firebird? furthermore, one so clean? and in Britian!?

they are around :D possibly a more common one over here too, theres 8 of em on ebay at the moment
ok heres the story
89 2.8 V6 base model
mate of a mate of my dad had it imported in 99, had looked after it for years and spent a fortune on it. recently he realised he didnt want it any more, he didnt have the time and it had been stood for 2 years plus he needed space for a new boat or somethin, so he says its your if you can shift it sharpish, yes, FREE. (i figure the amount he would have spent fixing up things and getting it back on road would be about as much as i would have paid him for it anyway)
trailerd it home, jump started it and drove it up the drive, poked it around and as far as i can tell all it will need is a new battery, headlights, and some wiper blades. everything works on it! headlight motors, electric mirrors, electric windows, defogger, that annoying hatch pulldown motor thingo too. plus before he parked it he had the t-top seals and interior redone. it was covered in leaves and stuff but it all washed off to what you see there, the lacquer has come off on the upper bits of the body and theres small chips in places, and some rust on a pillar and small bit on the roof.

More to the point, how do you get insured on such a car in Britain?
However you've managed it, I expect to see it at Wheels Day.

adrian flux quoted me £710, and for a 21 year old with 1 year ncb thats pretty reasonable, even if it will be a second car and very few annual miles. i have been turned down for age in a few places and sureterm, classicline, premium choice havnt responded to my quote request...still waiting for a call from rh specialist too.
i am aiming for wheels day, will see how it goes, but for now i got a bit of shopping to do!

Very cool. Can't wait to see some progress pictures later on.

This is not my car, but my best friend's car. We were wondering what you guys think of it. I took this foto last saturday, the day his new rims were put on..

Please comment!

It's a cool SEAT Cordoba.

But I prefer the SEAT Ibiza 3-door hatchback (1.8L Turbo or 1.9 TDi).

What engine do he have?

It's my first car, I'm not going to waste money modifying it.

hehe Thanks.. yeah its my first car and my current daily driver... saving up for the new R35 GTR hopefully sometime in the near future!!

You confused me there for a second. Thought my posts had gotten deleted but then realized you posted pics in two threads

Thanks a lot, mate! 👍

I'm really loving your Prelude, easily one of the nicest I've seen, ever. Great pics too.
I've always loved that car...

...see? :D

Thanks for all the kind comments on my car, guys. I appreciate them.
Cool thing about the colour is that so far, I've only came across ONE in this exact colour, but it was a sedan. Neither of the guys from a Portuguese BMW forum remember ever seeing a Sienna Red II coupe except for mine (over here, of course). How cool is that?
It's by far the car I've enjoyed driving the most, it never gets boring.

I'm not a big fan of Japanese cars, but that's a nice Prelude. Built with a good taste. I'd just get rid of those decals. So which indicators do you have currently, orange or white ones? I like them both.
