Agreed. I'd forgotten though how far up front the engine was. Must be a good, ooh, six inches between the front of the engine and front of the car

Yes, that always been a problem with Audi's... a big chunk of the engine sits in front of the front axle line... a bit like a 911 in reverse. Caused all sorts of understeer issues!

Not so much of a problem if you were as talented as Walter Rohrl, Michele Mouton etc though.

And theres an Auxiliary Radiator squeezed between the grille and belt covers for good measure!

Ignore the red markings that was for something else:

Can't say I've ever had any Understeering issues ;)

2010 GT-R

I don't want to come off as "that guy", but can you put a little piece of paper near the plate with GTP SuperSilverGT-R. I believe you pretty much anyway, but that would just make it even more awesome...and a reason to come out to Texas .

Or JDM pose and GTP sign

Nice car. So do you track it or do you just go around bragging about someone else's lap time?

Once it has sufficient break in miles, I'll track it. It's not my daily driver. Anyways, the plate makes sense to people who know about the GT-R and the 'Ring. GDZLLA and I8TKYO were taken. If I had the skills to post those kinds of lap times, I'd be a Nissan-hired professional. They didn't ask to see my racing license when I bought it.

Its nice to hear someone plans on using the car for something other than a status symbol. 👍

Well I wrecked my car last week, so I had to get something new, and since I didnt expect to total my car I havent had a chance to save up for a downpayment, so I wanted something fairly cheap. I was eyeing an Audi TT but thats gonna have to wait now. Also wanted something very reliable and good on gas, since I have a 40 mile commute to work and I drive a lot outside of work too.

I ended up just going with a 2011 civic EX coupe in rallye red. The car looks awesome, but its only 140hp and I went with the automatic :(. I would have loved to get something with more power, manual tranny, but I spend a lot of time in traffic and because of the length of my commute I just felt like this was the best option for now.

Being this is mostly used for my commute to work, a race car isnt exactly the best option for me, but it does bother me. Did I make a good decision? Looking for reassurance here. lol

If most of your journey time is commuting then there's nothing wrong with going with an auto. Give yourself a little time to get financially secure again after your crash and you can always grab something fun with a manual transmission in a year or so.

It's basically exactly what I'm planning, only my car was stolen and crashed! I'm looking for something cheap to run and more than likely auto which I can use every day, and in a year or so buy a cheap Miata again that I can have fun with.
