Here's my pride and joy.
It's an Aston Martin Vanquish (A.K.A 'Vanish"). I know, I know. Crappy James Bond reference.

Can you give me your opinions on this one? http://www.clasificadosonline.com/UDTransDetail.asp?AutoNumAnuncio=2140746Yeah, it's an '81 SC.
It's unknown 'real' mileage, but it's somewhere between 150 & 180K (it had an odometer swap when it reached around 104K, but it got a used odometer installed as the CarFax report shows a 104K service followed by a 33K service about 9 months later, and it's believed the "new" odometer was taken with some miles on from a wrecked donor car as 33K in 9 months seems unusual for a 911, and on worst-case scenario, 180K for a 30 year old car = ~6000 miles per year average which is hardly excessive! I currently have it insured for <5000 miles per year.) Aside from having the gearbox rebuilt (knew it was needed when we bought it, so budgeted for too) it works really well and on the trip we took that picture on it did 2300 miles in 17 days (averaged 23mpg too even though driven hard and only ate 2 quarts of oil which is about usual for an older 3.0 B6 engine with a 12.7quart capacity! It's reckoned on about 1 quart per 1000 miles!) and had only minor issues related to the fact that it really needed a new starter motor, which has since been installed. (Basically it'd start & run perfectly when cold, but if it was shut off briefly, e.g. for a 1/2hr lunch break after 4 hrs of hard driving, it'd refuse to engage the starter motor due to the engine being warm!) Not a problem as we learned to park on a minor slope, and since there's very little drivetrain loss as the engine & driving wheels are practically on top of each other, it bump started without much hassle, or take breaks when we knew we'd be hiking for 2 or 3 hours which gave the engine plenty of time to cool and the starter to re-engage properly.
Nowadays with new starter it's no problem, although the Targa top leaks a little around the window seals, but since it's not a daily driver and is garaged, that's not an issue as I can basically ensure it doesn't go out in the rain anyway.
I have a hard time getting the smell of dead hookers out of my trunk too.
When will the Karmann Ghia get paint?
When will the Karmann Ghia get paint?
I do hope that's a joke of some sort...
Thats doesn't deserve an answer.
It's in dire need of real paneling, some serious exhaust work, a decent vacuuming, some new seats, switchwork actually from a Karmann Ghia, a real gearknob, etc etc.
Do you see a trend?
Sounds like you agree with me, what's your point ?
His point is that if all those things "need" to be done to it, chances are it's supposed to be like that in the first place...
*Sigh*
If you actually look at it there's nothing dangerous or in need of repair about it, it just looks "well used".
And as for why?: Because everyone is different?
*Sigh*
Leave the troll alone. He'll go away.
Its interesting that you think the paintwork on that car isn't in need of repair...
How original...
The Twingo looks lovely in black.👍 And the right wiper arm looks interesting on the RHD version.
I love the Mini! I would love to get one, but as Joey mentioned, they're really expensive here in the States. I imagine in Britain they're all over the place.
