Here's my pride and joy.

It's an Aston Martin Vanquish (A.K.A 'Vanish"). I know, I know. Crappy James Bond reference.

Cool, I can't see it, which colour? :sly: Nice driveway by the way

Yeah, it's an '81 SC.
It's unknown 'real' mileage, but it's somewhere between 150 & 180K (it had an odometer swap when it reached around 104K, but it got a used odometer installed as the CarFax report shows a 104K service followed by a 33K service about 9 months later, and it's believed the "new" odometer was taken with some miles on from a wrecked donor car as 33K in 9 months seems unusual for a 911, and on worst-case scenario, 180K for a 30 year old car = ~6000 miles per year average which is hardly excessive! I currently have it insured for <5000 miles per year.) Aside from having the gearbox rebuilt (knew it was needed when we bought it, so budgeted for too) it works really well and on the trip we took that picture on it did 2300 miles in 17 days (averaged 23mpg too even though driven hard and only ate 2 quarts of oil which is about usual for an older 3.0 B6 engine with a 12.7quart capacity! It's reckoned on about 1 quart per 1000 miles!) and had only minor issues related to the fact that it really needed a new starter motor, which has since been installed. (Basically it'd start & run perfectly when cold, but if it was shut off briefly, e.g. for a 1/2hr lunch break after 4 hrs of hard driving, it'd refuse to engage the starter motor due to the engine being warm!) Not a problem as we learned to park on a minor slope, and since there's very little drivetrain loss as the engine & driving wheels are practically on top of each other, it bump started without much hassle, or take breaks when we knew we'd be hiking for 2 or 3 hours which gave the engine plenty of time to cool and the starter to re-engage properly.
Nowadays with new starter it's no problem, although the Targa top leaks a little around the window seals, but since it's not a daily driver and is garaged, that's not an issue as I can basically ensure it doesn't go out in the rain anyway.
Can you give me your opinions on this one? http://www.clasificadosonline.com/UDTransDetail.asp?AutoNumAnuncio=2140746
If I were to own one I would not drive it more than 6k miles a year, and that is if I were to daily drive it and drive it everywhere, but still it's probably improbable to get that even as my second car as my first will be my mom's corolla (I don't even have my license yet) so I guess it'll only be a dream until I can get one as a second car. The problem is that I don't think those cars will be out there for much longer.

Here is what I drive (on the right). It is a 1997 Chevrolet S10 SS. It has a 4.3L V6. I've added a Spectre intake, taylor spark plug wires, 2" crossover pipe, 2.5" magnaflow catback, and a PCM tune. It would be nice if both of these trucks (S10 SS and Syclone) were on GT5.

It's in dire need of real paneling, some serious exhaust work, a decent vacuuming, some new seats, switchwork actually from a Karmann Ghia, a real gearknob, etc etc.

Do you see a trend?

Sounds like you agree with me, what's your point ?

*Sigh*

If you actually look at it there's nothing dangerous or in need of repair about it, it just looks "well used".

And as for why?: Because everyone is different?

Its interesting that you think the paintwork on that car isn't in need of repair...

Thought you guys might be interested in my mini!

Here's how she started.

It's a 998cc with a stage 1 kit (new carb needle, air filter, inlet n outlet manifolds, downpipes and exhaust, ending in a twin upswept 2" dtm as you can see). Obviously got the new 12x6" deep dish wheels, white sportspack arches, rounded chrome mirrors, wipac spot and headlamps.

and here's my usual ride...

How original...

The Karmann Ghia is clearly supposed to look the way it does; there's far to much effort gone into it (sacks on the doors trimmed to fit, chrome looking like new when the body doesn't, tidy engine and suspension drop). By continually suggesting that it needs repairing you either a) don't get it or b) are deliberately misunderstanding to provoke a reaction. If it's a, then as hfs mentioned, 'Because everyone is different' is all you need to know. If it's b, then as exigeracer mentioned, 'Leave the troll alone. He'll go away.' is all you need to know.

I think it's easily the best KG I've ever seen, and Reno, you're a numpty for selling it :P

The Twingo looks lovely in black.👍 And the right wiper arm looks interesting on the RHD version.

It allows the wiper to have a bit more coverage I think, like it swings normally, then gets an extra bit of travel at the end.

I love the Mini! I would love to get one, but as Joey mentioned, they're really expensive here in the States. I imagine in Britain they're all over the place.

Sort of. There are a fair few about, but they're expensive here too. Even for a really, really ratty one with holes everywhere and lots of work needed you're still looking at between about £750 and £1000, which is about £650 and £900 more than you'd pay for any other small car in that condition.

I've considered buying a Mini on a few occasions but always give up when I can't find anything cheap that doesn't need loads of work.
