The HFV6 in the SAAB doesn't have a ton of aftermarket support in the States but with a simple tune, it can see figures like 320hp/390tq (at the flywheel) with the stock turbo for less than 5 minutes of your time. I am quite fond of the 9-3. Its passing power (overtaking) is impressive. Boost is addictive. Mine has 130k miles on it so I might look into a XWD 08-10 9-3 to replace it instead of modifying this one too much.

Too bad failing turbos is a way too common disease with SAABs. We had a 9000 Aero in the past. Fast, but turbo failed quite soon. My dad currently drives a 9-3 2.0t convertible and the turbo has also been replaced already.

I'm not very fond of the turbo lag in the 9-3 to be honest. When you're cruising and you want to overtake someone, you either shift down for things to happen, or you just go in the left lane, wait for the revs to build and the turbo to spool up before you're off. I love the pull, but I strongly dislike waiting for it.

They do pull nicely, though. Even though my dad's SAAB "only" has the 200hp engine, I constantly underestimate the speedo. In my mom's car the gears are so short I'm constantly shifting. In my dad's car I just give it a little pull in second and I'm right on the speed limit.

The thing I like most about a SAAB is how it makes you feel when driving. I simply adore driving my dad's SAAB, they just have so much character.

Facebook. I must be friends with your dad, he posted some photos of you guys working on it.

Must be the old owner. I haven't done any work to it and my dad has only checked the spark plug gap.

Do you know what type of Infiniti that is? My mom crashed her car and she wants one. Nice cars BTW. I've always loved BMW and Infiniti. :)

2012 Infiniti M37S :)

We used to have a 2009 Infiniti G37S coupe...black...she was a beauty  That car saved my dad's life.

Good to see a Mini without the horrible extended arches that came on the 90's one đź‘Ť

Sure hope to have my Junk out this year to do some new pics with. May put it for sale then too. You guys got me worked up.

When I ran methanol injection I had added the two LED's on the boost gauge. Simple addition with shoe goo. (Started using this stuff in my rc days, works well and can be removed with no damage to most parts) the green light indicated pump was working. Red was tripped with flow meter before nozzle if it didn't read proper flow.

Used Labonte Motorsports kits.

Car will be on E85 this season and no need for the Methanol.

You might want to check your local laws first because those kind of transactions are illegal in many areas.

Love that Mini! I'd love to have one at some point. đź‘Ť

Aye, they are good fun to drive.

Thanks, the car originally had them on when it came out of the factory (big ugly black things). I'll try and find some before pictures but I think they're on a dead laptop somewhere đź‘Ž
