This may have been mentioned before but I've found out that if you take a car not normally available in arcade mode onto a race on the arcade mode disc (using GT Mode Garage) the physics are entirely different.

Case Study 1: Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak @ Tahiti Road

Case Study 2: Mitsubishi GT300 FTO @ High Speed Ring

Both cars were completely stock with their default setups.

Using the same configurations as above, I could not reproduce them.

Wtf? Could you explain what you mean by not available in Arcade mode? 'Cause i've played on the Arcade disc a lots and never in my life have I goten that result from driving a car that you can only buy from the Sim disc...

Was the FTO drunk? That was hilarious.

GT40 has 305 hp, probably has been mentioned, but the GT40 shows up in the historic 295hp limit race.

I actualy reproduced that glitch back when I first started hybriding.

I did a chassis swap on a Cusco Impraza and made the mistake of going into settings before starting a race in sim mode, my chassis was reset back to normal, and that glitch was the result.

Yeah the GT40 one has been mentioned a million times. To be honest, I didn't really have a problem with it, and I've done the race many times. In a stock Stratos once. I'm pretty sure I'm not that good at GT2...

Yea same, doesn't bother me on bit either, just thought I'd mention it. Those 'no room for error' type of races give me a rush haha.

I think the full Seattle circuit goes over a railroad, it makes absolutely no sense because what race goes over a possibly live cargo route?

Putting the Fiat Coupé in drift mode just does nothing to make it slide in the corners.

The Acura dealer, let alone everything to do with Acura in GT2 is complete trash. Seriously, take a look at the Type-R.

Woah. Still, that's just crazy how they go over that hump. It's a mystery to me as to why they didn't make the overpass like the one in the video though. The train tracks are bare in GT2, which makes it

By the way, I was listening to an UNKLE remix when they did the slo-mo cam, pretty much captured the moment perfectly.

1972, I mean 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A- err I mean R/T with T/A side exhaust (confused?)
will look good with a set of OZ Pegasus wheels.

You can't get those on a real 1970 Challenger R/T.

Or a 1970-71-72 Challenger R/T/A, Gran Turismo $$$ confusion edition.

If you sell your currently equipped car, and then left with no car in use, triggering the "Get in a car" message will kick you to the previous screen before the screen that triggers the "Get in a car" message.

Also, viewing COURSE BG can cause the color name tables to jumble up, primarily affecting the Honda/Acura ones for some reason.

What about the Opel/Vauxhalls?

What a strange name. Jaguar XJR Vehicle!

The segment below the car wasn't necessary, but was worth it.

IIRC it was because of a licensing issue or something. Same reason why Plymouth Road Runner is called "Muscle Car" in the game (conflict with the license for the cartoon character).

Well...what was it before?

The "XJR" bit itself conflicted with another product I think (not even a car IIRC, it's been a long long time since I read about it so I may even be wrong). So PD had to put Vehicle behind it to distinguish it from the brand. Stupid, but at least it gives us a few laughs lol.

Possibly the 1998-2004 Yamaha XJR. I can see a conflict like that happening with a brand that is native to the developer's country.

I still don't see why they couldn't have called it "XJR Sedan", but I guess it may be a Japanese to English translation thing, "Vehicle" is probably no more jarring than "Sedan" in Japanese.

Also between JP 1.0 & US 1.0, they added a Camaro Z28 as a potential opponent to the Tahiti Maze Dirt Event where you race the 206. Seems they were trying to add a second 206 Rally Car entry for the other colour livery and ended up putting the wrong car id (since that's what it was changed to for subsequent releases). I can't get it to appear though, no matter how many times I exit and restart the race.

The Camaro shows up using this code: 301D5316 0003, and it does drive properly, since it uses normal AI (not ghost mode) flag. 💡 Also, changing the car body to Esso version (since, it turns out, changing the AI car body will cause the ghost to go haywire) does not seem to solve the problem.

So basically it comes down to PD not implementing the proper restrictions on those 2 races (a simple power limit would exclude those cars). Well if we can cheat using the Escudo, then I suppose we can let the AI cheat every once in a while :D

From the GT2 Oddities Explained series: the reason why the Vector M12 enters the Trial Mountain 30 Laps enduro (and more interesting info).

All props to @thefanman

That video is wrong. At some point it states that you can get a Toyota Vitz and Subaru SVX as AI in the Silvia (3:20) and Impreza (4:20) races respectively, I haven't able to reproduce it. His actual list for TM30 (3:17) also included the Xantia, which appears in SSR5 All Night instead. This is the table:

Ones highlighted are TM30, non-highlighted are SSR5 All-Night. Simply put, they put the Xantia (ID 1183) and M12 (ID 1199) the other way around. (The fixes in later versions of the game aren't elegant either - instead of swapping it, they placed a Motor Sport Elise in place of M12, retaining the Xantia in SSR5. :irked:)
