kevin ive noticed some realy high numbers on your setups in the break controler most of the time these cars dont need a setting that high ive found that a lower setting works better for stopping quickly. IIRC i dont think i have a single car in my garage with a break setting over 14. having a higher setting leads to problems with the ABS and youll hear a quick chirping sound when breaking. this is the ABS trying to keep the car from locking up the breaks because the setting is too high. try some lower settings and see if you can tell the diffrence.

I don't have a request, but I've been reading this thread carefully and enjoying all the advice. I just wanted to post a thank you to Rosso for taking the time to be so helpful to everyone.

Aarkon,

WOW you were absolutely right. I was still stuck in the GT3 mindset. To all out there who used my setups try lower brake settings. Thanks again for informing me I greatly appreciate it.

Kevin

JustDerren said it well. No request here (at least not yet <grin>), but I think you are doing a great job and I am sure everyone appreciates the good service.

i seriously think someone should help him out. this thread is great.

Im so good at tuning... i'm only good at tuning drift settings.

thank you. we really appreicate.
and i really really encourge people out there who are good at tuning should step out.
seems like he's really busy. plus he has work too :P

Ill be trying to help rosso as soon as i can. Essay papers suck :(. I have been testing all the settings of my cars and have a few i can post like the Nismo 400, RX-7 RS-R, and some others.

Thank U very much cool Italian Blooded!
I will try today the settings you posted.

I need to ask (due to my not so good knowledge of english) what you meant with this referring to the Viper "Assits off for stock power and all the way up for a maxed out SRT-10."

Also please, tell me if I have to tune the car to the max (buy all the stuff...)

I alseo would like to know if the skyline settings are good for ALL the skyline cars (even the one that you coulb buy from the tuning shop in nissan).

Thank u again

Paolo

You have been doing a great job with all these requests and I, like everyone else here appreciate it, but instead of giving me free fish can you teach me a little about fishing?

I know the basics of what camber, toe, brakebalance, spring rates, shocks, etc. are, but since I am not a mechanic or a major racing enthusiast w/ real life experience I don't really know how the high speed physics of a car are affected by them exactly.

Specifically could you give some insight on spring rates and how their proper settings are determined? Also adjusting the shock settings(both bound and rebound) are a bit hit or miss (i think mostly miss) for me based on the weak information gt4 provides and now I just leave them at default no matter what. I know what camber is and pretty succesfully apply it in my tuning schemes but could you tell me why some of the cars you tune have like 1f 0r and others go to 6f5r (by the way do such high camber settings affect tire endurance during races in gt4?) Could you talk a little bit about what you look for when test driving a car in determining the lsd settings? Lastly, this might be a stupid question, but are the asm/tcs settings artificial helpers created by pd or are they actually used in real life?

I know that is a lot of info to cover, but maybe it wil ease your tuning load.

Thanks a bunch,
Max

I would appreciate some good settings for the Mazda RX-7 Type R (FD, J) from 1991. Don't know if you can find it, I found it in the used car section.

Anyway I've driven this car for a while and blew away the opposition in the easy races. Now I'm taking it through the Japanese cup but some problems occur.
Extreme oversteer on high speeds is throwing the car around making it uncontrolable. With speeds over 120 kph it becomes uncomfortable, but when I reach 140 kph it's virtually impossible to keep it on the track, if you have to make a slight adjustment it begins to spin uncontrollably.
I get this on the Tokyo track primarily but I could do with some less oversteer in general, without using too much of the asm and tcs.

It's currently tuned with a stage 1 turbo, stage 1 and 2 weight reduction, the racing flywheel, triple clutch and the racing chip. Besides that it has fully tuneable supension etc.

I'd really appreciate some help on this, I think it's a fun car to drive but with this much spinning going on it's just getting frustrating.

Guys,

I won't be able to post tuning requests for a couple of days. I have a couple Ferrari F355 exhausts that are stuck at customs and I have to take care of that. I also am getting shorthanded at the restaurants so I need to focus more on business right now. Whenever I find the time I will post in this thread again. So if you guys just want to keep posting requests maybe somebody else can help you or you can wait a few days for me. I have alot of the settings done I am just fine-tunng them and I will post them up when I get the chance. Again I appreciate the kind words from all of you and I wish I could help you out right now but priorities first.

If you'd like to contact me my email is Kevin@NAPerformance.com but please don't email me tuning requests.

Look out for some settings in a couple of days!

Regards,
Kevin

Hi Kevin I was wondering if when you get back you could please post some settings for the Toyota MR2 GT-S '97 model, thanks.

Assists on or off? How much HP do you have?

I need this information people.

Kevin

Sorry Rosso... :guilty:

I have:

fully tuned M5 with medium tyres. 761 horsepowers. only aid is traction controll which is 1

thank you! :dopey:

Msia i have some settings for that car.

spring rate: 5.5/7
height: 87/87
shock bound: 6/8
shock rebound: 6/9
camber: 2/1
toe: 1/-1
stab: default

This is a hard car to control, you get punished at high speeds for small mistakes. If you can master driving this car i have no doubt you can drive any car in the game.

Hi there..

Thanks a lot! I'll have to try those when I get back home, also what did you set the driving aides and breaks to? Did you leave them at the defaults or change those as well, thanks.

I dont use a brake controller on that car so yes, they are default settings and the ASM/TCS i believe i left default also. I might have put up TCS to 7 id have to recheck. You're welcome.

Here's my Bathhurst settings:

Spring Rate: F9.1/R13
Height: 78/79
Shock Absorb: 7/9
Shock bound/rebound: Default
Camber: 2/1
Toe: 1/-1
Stab: 5/5
ASM/TCS 10/10/10

Those shouldnt differ a lot from the normal RS-R RX-7.

Does anybody know how to tune the mines skyline fully upgraded?

I have this car and ive been testing it. Cant do much now at work but im guessing my settings for the Nismo R400 which is fully tuned would work well for the mine's. Ill try to get it to you when i get home.

Yeah thanks I'd appreciate it if you could check those out I was fooling around with them and now i dont remember what the defaults were for either. Thanks a lot for your help.
