\Speaking about bad setups, my rig broke yesterday and I only just about managed to repair it. Seems like I'll be needing a pre-made rig soon, any suggestions?

Yeah, see if you can do whatever you want in your school's manufacturing class, and then make your own.

My rig is all steel, and would be almost impossible to break.

Racecar, no need to feel that way. Actually I just bought that wheel myself this past Wednesday for a great price of $12 used. But I just have to say that dang, that wheel has a big time deadzone going on! The pedals are cool though but they need to be bolted down. I don't know how you can use them without it slipping.

I am having a blast with cheap wheels. I also have a Gamestop wheel that works unbelievably well on Ridge Racer 7 (picked it up for $8 used). What I am trying to say is you can have a good time with cheap wheels. Not everything has to be expensive in order to have fun. Let the haters hate!

Thanks guys, was just making fun of myself as I usually do.

As for the pedals, I only have that trouble when using it for my PC sims as I have it on a wood disk so I've learned to work my ankle in a pivot when I use them. It also helps that I don't slam on the throttle or brakes, I gently apply as much pressure as I need. Never gives me trouble on the carpet, it actually stays in place quite well.

The good thing about those pedals is there are 2 mounting points for it. You can use whatever you have for those pedals to stay. Plus you don't have to drill into the pedals itself.

I don't have a problem with them when I use it on my cockpit. It is clamped down. But just having it on carpet those rubber feet are useless. It should be like DFGT's pedals, where you have those spikes to help it stay in place.

By the way, doing something about that clutter and some wire management will make things better too =P

You don't need to make fun of yourself; what works for you and your situation is best :) .

I did manage to fix it further and make it more stable, everything's all good now 👍 . Have you posted your setup in this thread?

I'm pretty sure I'm going stick out like a turd in a punch bowl in comparison to you guys but since I now have a wheel (and it doesn't say it has to look like it was made by someone possessing a very deposable income), figured I may as well post my Ghetto setup:

And that folks is the "Rig" of a poor kid

Not a lot of space in my room so that's the only way this'll work.

Hey man, paint color don't matter, long as it gets you around the track! :)

I got this homemade rig today for $20 with the chair. It's just made out of wood and the chair is just a rocker type gaming chair but the guy built a little holder for it. He had a g27 mounted on it but sold that. I already had the dfgt but I also got another one of those today brand new still in box and plastic for $30 from his friend. So for $50 I got a very functional starter rig and extra wheel. It's actually very comfy for what it is.

That's a pretty cool budget setup.

Does the seat stay in place pretty well? Is it bolted down somehow or does it just rest there?

It stays in place really well. That very back board is raised so it fits in there and can't move. The guy did good work on it.

Here's my cheap set up for Gran Turismo, and also iRacing..

I made this myself just using timber I found. It's fairly neat and works fine for me..

I run a HDMI cable from my PC to my TV where I play iRacing, and then just switch it over when I want to play Playstation.

A lot of people are using smartphones and or tablets here on GTP and elsewhere on the web. We don't have tags to surround links yet. Jordan is still working on the new mobile site to phase out the app and current mobile theme.

Here is mine. Took 4 days to make and works a dream! I used 40mm PVC, and some MDF for the wheel mount and under the seat, then simply used Velcro to attach the pedals. I then sprayed everything matte black.
Do you have the plans for this? Looks great.
