After about a month and a half of working ~60 hours a week + working on this project, I'm finally done! Been wanting to make something like this for a while and now I can finally tick it off of my to-do. Here are some pictures that I took from the beginning till now. It was definitely a fun, but sometimes frustrating project, but by the end I learned a lot and definitely had fun doing it. Now the next things in my bucket list are building my own computer, and finally rebuilding and restoring a classic American muscle car. But those will be in the future ;)

Looks great, love how the logo turned out!

Thanks bud, I love it a lot as well.
Except I invited one of my close friends to my house and he was going a little bit too rough on the TH8RS and he completely broke it LOL. Thank god I bought it within a month ago, gonna have to replace it haha

Seriously. I want to know how to. I have never heard of someone breaking one of those by being a little rough.

He came back from the gym, had some pre-workout in his system already I guess...
but idk he was slamming it down really hard. like from 1st to 2nd, and 3rd to 4th, and 5th to 6th.. I thought a $130 shifter would accept aggressive shifting but I guess it didn't

it was completely done or. When I looked at the inside through that little hole where you can adjust the stiffness of the shifting, I saw that the whole component was moving when I moved the little shifter hahahaha

edit: you never know how much you miss something until it's gone... I miss that little shifter and I hate waiting until the 3rd till the new replacement one comes in :(

I'm going to go out on a limb here 458, and guess that you like Ferrari? =)

My buddies dad managed to rip my T500 off of my oButto and break the mounting claw in like 5 minutes, I'm glad he didn't get to use the shifter much!

Your story makes me think of the guys who used to play Daytona in the arcades and just MANHANDLE the shifter like it made them go faster. I was always yelling at guys to take it easy, it's just a switch, and NOT a cheap one!

I don't like Ferrari, I love Ferrari :)
It's so weird, but Ferrari was a love at first sight for me.. as gay as it sounds. back in 2006 when I got into cars I HATED HATED Ferrari but I LOOVED the Ford GT.. Ford GT was the car that got me into cars and my respect for them will always be incredibly high, but Ferrari's I thought they were the most useless cars because of how over priced and under performed they were for their price. But then in 2008 I saw a red Ferrari F430 coupe on a 4-way intersection and I was parked diagonally from it.. the driver had his hand out the window he had blonde hair and this beautiful golden watch and I was like "wow.. this amazing.. it's not just a car, it's a lifestyle" so I started to like Ferrari's from then on. Fast forward to Thanksgiving break (4-5 months later), my parents cousin (I consider him a friend, great mentor, a role model) bought a Ferrari 360 Spider and my parents had a get together at our house and he drove it to my house.. it was my first time touching a Ferrari, going over the F-E-R-R-A-R-I on the rear engine bay with my hands, and ultimately getting a ride in one.. Iwill never forget that torque.. I was like 15 then I think and it pinned me to the seat.. I couldn't move lol. It was then that my whole life changed. I used to be this chubby kid with no goals or aspirations, but now I've lost a lot of weight and though I don't have a Ferrari yet, I will soon.. I will keep working for one.

yeah sorry about the random off topic but I just had to share it :)

LOL dang dude your T500 is like a $600 wheel, did he pay for a new one atleast????? but yeah definitely, kids these days think they are in fast and furious or something.. its so annoying. This is exactly why I hate anyone playing with my expensive toys.. I wish I could trust everyone but I just can't, some people are TOO careless and misunderstanding.

I must try this pre workout gear lol
I love lifting weights and yesterday managed 60lbs concentration curls. Thats each arm separate. But I'd need to try very hard to break the TH8 changing gear lol
I know that feeling I'm on my second TH8.

Well idk, it might have been a faulty/fragile TH8RS then to begin with?? or maybe I just didn't have it stiff enough??? lol

Lol, too funny. I remember a tale from when I used to own a '72 Camaro with non-power brakes. I had driven the car to work for about 2 weeks straight, so I was used to the brake pressure required to stop it (much more than a car with power brakes). I started on my way to work one day when it started to rain, so I decided to turn around and switch to my Jeep Cherokee. Got down to the end of the street and went to hit the brakes, locked up all 4 wheels and screeched down the road to a grinding halt! Haha, it took a little while to get readjusted to power brakes again.

Driving a car with a decent clutch pressure. Jump in say a S10 and go to push clutch. SLAM. Like it ain't even there. Or going from manual to auto. Slam nothing there. LoL kinda an odd feeling. Muscle memory and mental conditioned.

I've always been a big Ferrari guy myself, the F40 is my dream car, despite it probably being less than a dream compared to some these days, it was the ULTIMATE car at a very impressionable time in my life.

As for the T500 claw, nah, I just drilled a couple holes and hardmounted it. That guy has been in my life since I was a kid, I couldn't charge him for something like that... although I did take a little time to mess with him over it. :)

First time seeing an F40 in person my heart dropped and my eyes got all watery.. seeing it in person is one thing, but in person it's a 10/10 work of art. same thing can be said about any Ferrari.

but I feel you man, I couldnt have charged my friend either, he's been through everything with me. I didnt even get a claw when I bought my T500 but I just said screw it since I never thought claws were very useful to begin with haha.

Wrote a paper in HS about the F40. Got an A on it. Teacher said age could feel my passion for it. So much she wanted to see pictures of one. :)

Never had the pleasure of seeing one in person.
:(

You guys see the fast and loud show where they repaired one and tricked it out. I still can't say I liked it in black. However I liked the extra power!

Freshman year in college I took public speaking class, got B+ and minuses on all my speech, up until our final speech which was a 10 minute "explanitory" speach. So I chose to explain the history of Ferrari and I got a 96 on it and the teacher said only reason why it wasn't a 100 was because I talked about it for 15 minutes instead of 10 :)

but yeah I've seen two F40's. One guy has one in my town and the second one I saw was beside a Ferrari Enzo at Ferrari of Atlanta. They had them for Enzo Ferrari's birthday party :)

Bodnar Wheel - latest addition to my rig :)...sweet piece of machinery (not sure how i convinced myself to justify the price lol)...but after 30 mins of driving the grin on my face..priceless :). Sold my T500 rightaway

Holy crap. That is awesome. Doesn't that require a 240v source? Is that the rim it comes with? For the price I thought it would be branded.

Leo's wheel is quite impressive, though I have not tried this latest incarnation I don't believe. Good choice. :)

I don't think the Bodnar base comes with any wheel. That's up to you to decide which wheel you want.

All is here regarding Leo Bodnar FFB wheel: http://www.simsteering.com/products.html

There's the £35 GT wheel option which this looks like is the one and the Precision high end wheels which are very impressive.

Great purchase and matched with a set of beautiful HE Engineering Pedals too..

If you see in the link there's a separate control box which is the power supply and USB connection.

Here's my latest addition. Toyota EP71 Starlet handbrake wired to the shifter unit using chilicokes method. Works great.

Can we expect a kind of review ? :)

Finally got my mancave most of the way completed (just moved), still need to do a few little things, but it works well for now.

-Panasonic AE7000 3D Projector with 100" screen
-rSeat Formula cockpit
-Fanatec Clubsport wheel and V2 pedals
-2 gaming computers (one i7-2600k w/7970 the other i5-3570k w/680)
-Triple screens for productivity
-Oculus Rift for racing and other gaming
-Plenty of stuff from Japan to make me feel more at "home."

My wife and kids and I spend quite a bit of time in this room, so that's why there's pink stuff, it's not only a mancave, it's kind of a famcave. :)

I'm pretty sure I'm going stick out like a turd in a punch bowl in comparison to you guys but since I now have a wheel (and it doesn't say it has to look like it was made by someone possessing a very deposable income), figured I may as well post my Ghetto setup:

And that folks is the "Rig" of a poor kid

Not a lot of space in my room so that's the only way this'll work.

No need to feel ashamed about that, I've seen worse setups 👍 (including the setup that I had before my custom built one).

Speaking about bad setups, my rig broke yesterday and I only just about managed to repair it. Seems like I'll be needing a pre-made rig soon, any suggestions?
