Nice.. I've hit Neil up for his version 2 extreme once they're ready. Can't wait!

Turn down the rotation of the wheel to 270 degrees, plus in the game select "controller override: wheel", or something along those lines.

Awesome rig. I am sure you will enjoy it. :)

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I've reached out to the company but they haven't been very helpful with settings.

New direction for me, got loads of great hardware but still no rig to use it all, lol....

Out goes the idea of triple projectors.
Simple reason with new 2013 HDTV's the borders on some screens are tiny and prices are now rather acceptable. Less hassle, better imagery amongst the reasons I switched even though the BenQ W1070 is pretty good projector it will never look as good as a decent telly.

Here is my latest purchase :)
Panasonic Viera TX-L47ET60B
Smart TV with Passive 3D and 2D-3D conversion

Going with triples soon, after summer holidays and they will be mounted with chrome tubing as used for the monitors which will be part of the cockpit. Similar idea really to 80/20 but chrome tubing.

Quite basic by all accounts but does me right for GT5. A bigger TV is all i really plan to change. 26" is kinda small these days :embarrassed:

Runs to a 50 inch Plasma.
I built it all in school, only cost 70 bucks for paint and the seat.
Seat slides forward and back, shifter goes in all 3 axis, wheel moves up/down, forward/back. The pedals can have their individual spacing changed, and the angle of the whole assembly is adjustable.

Unfortunatly my G25 burnt out, so I made up some more mounts for a Saitek X52, and am using it as a fligth sim cockpit.

(Also made a handbrake out of an old joystick, little box means it can only go in 1 axes, and it has a 2 ft aluminum lever.)

Just got a DFGT and built a rather simplistic wooden structure to mount it. This was cheap and easy to do, also quite easy to move/store if desired.

What do you guys think?

Congrats APIOQM, have fun with it. Maybe give it a coat of paint and she'll be ready to go.

My prediction ... this is the 1st in a long line of rigs you build as your Sim racing career takes off. As you probably discovered, building a rig is fun. :)

here's my 8020 profile rig. the original post is on iracing forum.

Hi Racerxxx, Just admiring your cockpit and was wondering if you had more info on it.
I can't access the iracing forum without becoming a paying member.
How is the GS-4 seat going, I'm pretty sold on it but still trying to get as much feedback as possible.

Also did you have any plans for your cockpit or did you just make it up on the go?

Cheers, Neil

well I'm in the process of building mine. I only need to mount the pedals now (I'm using the T500 pedals with the foot rest detached so it's kind of a pain in the butt to mount this thing since I'm using it in GT/Rally style).
but those of you with rigs, do you see yourself getting faster lap times?? what are the pros and cons of this for you all??

I know all about the T500 pedal mounting issue

Once you've a rig there's no going back. I couldn't imagine anything else. So far as lap times I'm far quicker with a wheel than a pad and far quicker in my own rig than anything else.
I had my wheel over to Mr Lattes and used his wheel stand pro, and although it was a good stand nothing beats your own rig 👍

hahaha yeah I'm having to put wood over wood over wood to mount this stupid pedal. and I'm not even trying to make it look flush like yours! haha.

but I gotcha, thanks for the reply. Why do you say nothing beats your own rig?? is it because you already have a lot of practice and comfort and know the play style on your rig versus somebody elses rig?? but yeah mine should be done thursday since I don't have work then and I'll definitely provide some pics :)

also, random question, I'm trying to put a big Ferrari logo (like my avatar) at the front of my rig since I put a 24" by 20" piece of wood there to hide the pedals and overall make the rig nicer, but I don't know how?? do you know what the best/cheapest way of putting a big 24" tall logo on the rig?? Some guy on ebay is wanting $33 for a 24" tall Ferrari logo sticker and I really wasn't planning on spending that much hahaha

Mainly because when you build your own it should fit you perfectly, you get used to it and it feels right. Although I have made many adjustments to mine in the last year. Only because of new wheels and pedals.
I read somewhere on here ....The F1 Ferrari guys build thread that he printed some of his logos out on special paper

Makes sense. but yeah hopefully with PS4 coming out with future GT7, hopefully my T500 will work just fine on it and I wouldn't have to spend half a thousand on another wheel LOL

but yeah I read that as well but my printer definitely doesn't support 24" papers :P
i might run by a few printing companies and see what they think

I think the issue about wheels and the ps4 isn't one to worry about. All Playstations were backwards compatible. Wheel makers just need to provide a driver.
Xbox is another ball game, and because of that I sold my elite and triple xboxes this weekend past. I wont be buying an xbox one.

Look forward to seeing your rig pictures!

Damn Neo, your rig just keeps getting more ridiculously nice by the month, it seems. Maybe you should start your own thread so we can follow your continued progress into sim racing heaven. I’d be interested in what you have planned next, cause I’m wondering if there is much else you can do.

Major props to you on that masterpiece. Carnival rides have nothing on that thing. 👍 👍

Trying to learn a flight sim called Lock-On: Modern Air Combat. (LOMAC)
iPad is there to read off of the 262 page game manual.

Main screen for LOMAC, external for chat and internet.

Thanks fumanchu11, I've added a few items since I last posted. It's now 3DoF SmiX/FTS TC-R1 Hybrid. I have the base unit of the SimX Stage I, II and III with my FTS Pro Sim Chassis TC-R1 mounted to that. I did not like the sitting position nor the steering wheel position of the SimX so I modified it a bit. Next addition will be 3 Pedal ARC-Carbon Pedals (as soon as they arrive).

Well, please don't be bashful about sharing pics whenever you feel like it Neo, because seeing rigs like yours, readyfe, HoiHman and others is great for seeing the possibilities and inspiring ideas, and I know I certainly wouldn't get tired of seeing them. And how helpful many of you are with sharing info on ideas is also great and much appreciated. I suppose at some point I should get around to taking pictures of mine and sharing, but several of you are absolutely setting the sim rig standard.

Thanks for you kind words fumanchu11. I'll post some pics once I get my new pedals installed.
