That is my dream tank. I wanted one ever since I was six years old. It is a 135 gallon tank. It has two Oscars, one Jack Dempsey, one Black Convict, one Pink Convict, one big Bala Shark, two big Tinfoil Barbs and a big Plecostomus.

The tank on my desk is a 20 gallon planted tank. I keep it sparsely stocked in order to avoid algae growth. I have a couple of cardinal tetras and white clouds in there.

Awesome - when I get my own place I will surely be getting another thank. They are awesome and relaxing! How big are the oscars? Mine got to about 8". I dont remember if I had to flush them or not but my tank began to leak.

I had an algae eater (forget the name but the ugly ones) that we found underneath all the gravel.....he lived for over 12 years. I donated him to my biology teacher who had a large tank and he's gigantic now. Still ticking at nearly 15years.

Obutto O-zone | Fanatec PWTS w/CSP | Buttkicker Pro | Spherex XBOX 5.1 | Dell 2707WFP

That's a nice looking rig, sir.

Before I painted it (and added an autozone dual cupholder :D )

Good stuff. In all seriousness, the cup holder is the missing element from most rigs. OK, if you're racing in the WRS or something, it's all business, but for those of us just cruising through GT5, it's often better with beer. And you have to get the beer in during load times, which can be a challenge.

I'm going to get a cup holder too I reckon.

See, that shifter looks like its in the exact right spot to me. But I hardly ever see them there. Does it feel natural? Nice rig.

Edit: I hardly ever see them there, except when I scroll up the page and see them in that position on every second setup. I'm an ass.

thanks, yes, it feels great. i only seem to use the h-gated shifter with low power cars.

Interesting. I got used to the paddles on my first Driving Force wheel on PS2, and was really worried when I got the DFGT and had to move to stick. Now I don't think I could use anything else. But a proper H shifter might be different.

This is my cockpit. As for a "man cave", well... I just don't have one. A game room, yes; But, it's not "mine". In fact, I think the mrs has her girlfriends over for wine and guy talk more then I do guys for billiards and beer!

What do you do when it gets really crazy outside?

My rig.

How do you actually insert the image?! 4 years & I still haven't managed to figure this out ... :dunce:

Those running projectors, how do you manage to get the PS3 and wheel all plugged in? Running long HDMI? Can you extend the usb and if so does it have negative effects?

Go big, or go home! 110" Da-lite Silverstar and B&W's all around....

You've got that niche behind the Da-lite. That's perfect for an acoustically transparent screen with a third B&W tower behind it as your center speaker. It would sounds tremendous.

zooter96, DAAAMN man that's s kick ass setup right there mate, what subwoofer do you have tho? And what projector are you using? Finally, what amplifier are you using? Bummer you don't have a Bose sound system instead, I'm sure you couldn't even afford one anyways ;) hahaha jk (Bose is a rip off SQ wise, but solid for what they are).

All of my electronics are under the screen, so just one HDMI cable ran to the projector in the ceiling. I then just run USB and power to the screen from the wheel and have the cables in one of those rubber cable runs to it looks decent. And I do have the USB cable extended and it works just fine!

My setup is a little different. My projector, and in fact all my home theater electronics are on shelves at the rear of the room. Speaker wire for the front speakers runs from the receiver into the rear wall, then under the floor (easy enough; basement is unfinished) to a speaker terminal plate I installed on the front wall.

My wheel is a Fanatec GT2, which works wirelessly using a USB dongle. It seems to need to be the only USB device plugged into the PS3 as the additional power draw makes wireless unreliable. A powered USB hub would probably help. If you're using a USB extension cable (did that with the G25 and it wasn't an issue) and run into problems, a powered USB hub should help you extend the length.

Hi guys, been a member for quite some time and would like to share my GT5 setup as well .👍

my gaming-movie room, I call it my bat-cave! ;)

I also want to share my other stand, :sly:

My custom made WSP replica. 👍
w/ my updated design wider base and two clamp support @ the bottom for optimum grip stability, much sturdier and stable compared to the original design. :dopey:

How do you like the bass shakers?
I'm still undecided on which ones to get... either the Buttkicker or the Aura Pro Bass Shaker, or a Clark Synthesis Tactile Transducer.

Do you feel the chair rumble with the engine sounds?

I have two Aura's in my playseat... they work.. but not as well as the buttkicker I have hooked to my couch... As for feeling the engine, rumble strips, etc. It's been inconsistant for me, depends on the car, depends on the track. I do love it when I do feel it though, but I don't think that's a knock against the aura's, I heard something about the LFE channel from GT5 isn't so hot.

Haven't tried buttkicker, but the Aura Pro Bass Shaker in my experience works great! connected to a 500 watt MTX-thunder car amplifier,w/ just minimal volume it shakes so powerful! hooked it to the surround out of my AX pro so that it will only shake during special effects like engine sound, bumping, etc.
Very satisfied, no plans of upgrading...yet..

Off Topic: (PM if you want further info)

The Aura Pro is a very basic bass shaker but can produce quite a good thump.
Firstly its rated at 50W RMS so attaching an amplifer with much more power at 4ohms is a bit pointless and could actually damage the unit.
It is impossible to have a tactile unit only be effected by independent sounds from a game as you have no control over those sounds from a game being outputted seperately. You can however have seperate tactile units working on the individual channels of surround sound and not just the LFE output.

Secondly the Aura Pro compared to Buttkickers or Clarke Tactile units produces much less variation in its response. The reason for this is it is limited to only 80Hz frequency range. Buttkickers typically offer upto 250-300Hz and Clarke Tactile upto approx 800Hz. So they can produce a better tactile response over the Aura Pro models. This is important but if you want more tactile effects that go beyond even a Clarke or Buttkicker then adding Subwoofers is the next best option as these will produce low frequencies but go upto approx 2000Hz on many models.

Clarke units can produce actual audible sound as well and not just vibrations so they offer a unique tactile effect with decent low end but more mid range frequncy results also. If anything this helps them in musicality.

On my seat alone I use (ongoing testing configuration)
Each is seperately controlled from 7.1 multichannel outputs then manually adjusted via studio quality 31 band equalisation before amplification.

2x Aura Pro under knee section of seat (L/R Channel Effects Only)
2x Mini Buttkickers at side/rib area of seat (L/R Channel Effects Only)
1x Clarke T209 at back of seat (Surround L/R Channel Effects Only)
1x Buttkicker BKA 300 below seat (LFE Channel Effects Only)

If you want more control of your bass shakers whatever type you use from various games in how they respond and how strong they react then get a good equaliser control unit to alter the strength of various frenqencies and change the feeling/sensation.

That day will come....
Also running a Buttkicker on the centre channel for the pedal section (great for engine effects mainly on the centre channel audio).
Upgraded the design recently to now have 4x Sony Xplod subwoofers all combined with a Sony 7 channel speaker / Av amplifer configuration.

Im in no rush to finish a 2 year project and still working on a Buttkicker powered ABS/Throttle based on pedal position/movement.
It just keeps expanding... :sly:

Here is my homeade "cockpit"/"wheelstand" I just finished it today with my dad, and I have to say that I am very pleased with the outcome. Cost under 20 in scrap lumber we had laying around the garage.

Thank you!

How you like the fanatec compared to the G25? Just gotta ask, how does the X2010 or F10 drive on that wheel?

I tried the X2010 (via the Vettel challenge) over the weekend using my Fanatec GT2 wheel and Clubsport pedals. There is a lot of FFB, even though I have it set to 50. I need to bulk up my arms at the gym if I am going to successfully complete the challenge.

I have used one of the other profiles on the fanatec specially for the X2010 FF is down to 30% and I set the degrees of rotation down from 900 to around 460 (from memory) I also add 20 % linearity to make it a little less sensitive..

This seems to work for me..

So you are able to keep the side to side choppy feeling out of the wheel? It is terrible on the G27 and DFGT I have here. I manage, just seems way more sway on the wheel then it should have or oscillation back and forth kinda rapid. If so, I may just order a Fanatec.

you could also add just a bit of dead zone to iron out the last bit of that side to side.. in the fanatec. I tend not to do it.. I don't feel it's needed. with the wheel setup as above, the x2010 reacts quickly and I don't feel like I'm wrestling a 400lb gorilla around the racing rig :) when I go back to another car. I just swap the profile on the wheel on the fly and I'm good to go.. 900 degrees 100% FF etc..

This feature for me is what's really good with these wheels and currently separates the fanatec from others in this price range..
