This is a great pic, But i always feel the need to inform people this is the equivelant of putting a bmw on top of a background of a swastika (obviously diff scenarios), Not trying to cause contraversy here but people should know the rising sun is very offensise to a lot of people but we here in europe are pretty ignorant about it,

This symbol was used as a military symbol just like the swastika, For anyone interested read vivsection of uniti731,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731

I know its off topic but i think its important people know what this symbol represents to a lot of people.

Apparently you are still somewhat ignorant (not trying to be offensive). Unit 731 was not directly representative of this flag. It may be viewed by some in this way who know of the article you linked to but it is not truly accurate. Primarily it is seen as offensive in countries who were victims of "Japanese imperialistic aggression" not because of human experimentation or torture. It is indeed a military symbol, primarily naval/maritime, but is not an outright symbol of hatred and genocide as the swastika has become known to represent.

May I suggest this link instead...

To this day the flag is used in many ways and still a part of Japanese culture as I understand it. Very much unlike the swastika which is not a part of modern day German life due to the history it represents.

If I am wrong I'm sure I will be corrected.

-Sorry mods for being off topic here.

*Note: Sorry that this is a double post but since my previous was off topic I thought the pictures should have their own so the previous text isn't quoted if somebody does quote this post.*

Finally played around with an idea I've been wanting to do for awhile... snapshots. Snapshot Set Here

I tried to replicate a spectators point of view who only has a simple "point and shoot" or other small consumer camera with not much zoom range or advanced features. Taking things a bit further I tried to replicate some of the problems that pictures printed from film have. Grain, washed out black tones, oversaturation in bright sun, poor composition (sometimes), soft edges etc. Then just for good measure I added some fake datestamps to some ;)

Gonna try some more of these soon I think. In a weird way it was kind of a fun challenge. Harder to get a "proper" angle than you'd think given the photomode space restrictions.
