OMG awesome!! You went on the Monza Banking. Interesting that PD would model that as well, but not include a layout with it. Wonder what the story is there. Not enough time to integrate it, or is that DLC I smell? Hmmm.
you can tell its a low poly model and is just used for scenery. Doubt we'll ever be able to drive on that

True. I wonder what was going on in PD offices when they were modeling it as scenery though. Surely with the retro tracks PD includes in their games (like Fuji '80s from GT4, and Le Sarthe with no Mulsanne chicanes), the issue would have come up at least once I think. I can see them easily replacing that gravel with tarmac and making a functional banking there. The textures on it are crap at the moment, but clearly they sent a team to measure, analyze it and take photos of it for the track modelers.
And it's not like figure-of-8 circuits are an issue, as they included the Top Gear test track, and they even had you avoid collisions with Schwimmwagens on it!
How hard can it be? Start a lap with the GP circuit and finish with the Banking. If you skip either part of the circuit your lap doesn't count and you get penalized. Simples.Anyway, I'm rambling.
