Ehi Praiano, how are you? I'm sorry to bother you, but do you have any suggestion for the best race car with 580 PP? Thanks

Hello , CHAPARRAL 2J RACE CAR `70, if allowed. To unfair , no chance for any other.
If you can't use it, there will be a long list with racing and touring cars.

FTO super touring
Mercedes SLK touring car.....

And a lot more.

Olá praiano,

When we know your personal list for best cars in each class?:)

Have a nice day:cheers:

Too complicate, i'm not organized for this ,i don't have any datas.
Must be by PP/ TIRES / TRACKS.....
When i'll come back to tune cars in GT5 , i'll do specifics tunes for specific tracks. No more all round settings ,i have enough like this in my garage for everybody ,any level.
I will need to spend more time on each car, more or less like the Adrenaline method but for a special kind of track, for sure the ones i like the most.
Nordschleife / Suzuka / Trial mountain / Indy road / Deep forest / Monaco / Eiger.... Only for the best fun and speed.:):)

I understand your decision, will certainly be a good tuning. Keep your good work, and your eclectic garage, this is a plus for all of us.👍

Thank you

If I may say so myself, I find that tunes for the Nurburgring are actually more well-rounded than general road tunes.

It is possible yes, maybe I share the same opinion. One of the favorite tracks of praiano is Nur., is normal for their tunings have this circuit as a priority. Take me to believe that a tuning tuned to Nur, will make a good all-around tune to other circuits. But I'm not the best person to answer this statement:)
I like almost the same circuits that praiano like, the exception is perhaps Susuka:crazy:

I'm fine, I love Nur, and a few others too.👍

I tune always ONLINE on suzuka first.95% of my cars. There i can set the overall balance of the cars.
-First high speed right turn under strong braking to set springs and compression.
-S curves medium speed turns for ARB
-Dunlop left turn out is perfect to tune the perfect LSD accel and TOE.
-Hairpin braking zone for brake balance and ext dampers
-Spoon curve where all yours settings will speak by themself. A well balanced car can make a 1 to 1-1/2 second difference there.

After this the car is 90% OK , i do some fine tuning on deep forest , trial mountain ,some other few tracks depending of the car, and i always finish on the nordschleife. Just for the pleasure, online with some other players to push the car and the driver to the limits and beyond :):scared::scared::) , that's the best part.

I hope i can do this again soon.

,

Thank you praiano for explain with that details. To better understand the tuning done, is always interesting to associate the circuit to which the car was developed, So I(we) better understand the car tuned and intentions of tuner. My options are running over 95% off Suzuka, is not a circuit problem, is more a mental problem of the driver :D

I usually test the cars in T.Mountain and Nur, with some rare exception in another circuit, if the car requires it.

Now I understand better your tunings:tup:

Thanks again mate:cheers:

,

Thats pure gold right there!

Just wanted to stop in and say thank you for all your tunes, Praiano! For quite a while now, I've been checking to see if a tune of yours is available before buying a car. If it is available, I buy it. If not, I let it go most of the time. I've been doing this for so long that I've almost worked my way through all your tunes.

I'm up to the Classic Racing Quartette now (Mark IV Ford, GT40, etc.) and when I save up for the Ferrari, I'll have them all, put your tunes in and begin comparing.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for all of your tunes :)

Praiano, is the tune guide that you have on this page https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5964872#post5964872 is this the best way to tune gears and is it your method for newer tunes (because i see that on some tunes the gearing is slightly different)

Yes my friend. This is the best way to tune a gearbox of 95% of the cars, if you don't need to do a grid start ,like in an online race for example.
In this case, low power 5 gears cars or even some Up to 450PP with 6 gears , will not have a good start because of the very long first gear.
To have a shorter 1st gear you just need to set a higher top speed at step 4.
for example 240 or 260 kmh.
The ideal gearbox is the longer 1st gear that will give you the best traction at the grid start, intermediary gears as close as possible, and last gear reaching the max speed of the track you're racing at, with a little margin for the draft.

Have a good night.

Cheers, so just to be sure is it shorter 1st gear or longer 1st for grid starts ?
And in the method you have the picture I think i saw one that had a different spacing for 6 gear cars with high HP, what constitutes a high HP, is the McLaren F1 an example of that and would you tune 1st 2nd and 3rd closer then space out 4, 5, 6?

This is just for some very few powerfull cars like some le mans cars with 800 to 900 HP. Don't take care of this for the rest. Generally , you need to spread the gears the best you can from a long 1st to a short 5 or 6 or 7, depending of your car.

Let me try to explain :
1- Do the way it's describe on the method.
2- Set the final gear to have the max speed you need for a specific track (with a little margin for the draft if you race with others).
3- Try a grid start.
*If you start fast without losing to much RPM , launching with a good traction like a bullit, it's OK , you're done.
*If the car start slowly losing RPM because not enough torque in 1st gear to make a good launch, then:

Do everything again since step 1 of the method.
When you are at step 4, don't low the top speed to the mini (full left). Just set the top speed gradually 10 by 10 kmh more or 5 by 5 mph more . in the way of 200 kmh, set 210 kmh .... then if not enough the next time set 220 kmh....

Test again everytime till your car can perform a good grid start.

This is the best way to have the longest 1st gear and a shorter last gear you can for a given max speed.

It's difficult for me to be clear as i want in english, but i hope you understand better now.
Havea a good day.

Have a good day everybody.

Hi Prainano, i was wondering what 4WD ride would you recommend me for online racing on Deep forest using 450PP with race tyres.

Evo, Impreza or something else?

You are the man regarding PP's :P

Hello. I don't have a lot of 4WD tunes and no tunes 450PP with racing tires. You can try this one, it's a good car for touge racing sport hard, very fast.

But you can check the subaru 22B also , or the PEUGEOT 205 TURBO 16 '85 , a very good car too. I don't know them with race tires, you need to test .
I think that with the huge extra grip the racing tires will give at 450pp , you need to chose a fast car .The top speed will make the difference.

Have a good day.

Thanks a lot i'll do some testing later

Best of praiano's tunes week 6:
This M5 is a very fast easy car. It's tuned for racing tires 550PP, the way a lot of people like to race online. The right choice to have fun with chance to win a race safely.

BMW M5 '2005 // 550PP // Race tires // ONLINE OK

Top 5 car 550PP Race soft tires, the way people like to race it online.
This one don´t have aerofoil. The pics are from the older max tune.

Hey man, I just read your Transmission guide and I don't quite understand the white picture. I don't understand what my goal is. Am I just trying to get all 6 of my gears as evenly spaced as possible, changing the first gear if it's too long for a low powered car?

gearssettings2.jpg

Hi, it's simple.
This represent the setting panel where you set the gear ratios.
each bar represent the position where each gear need to be setted on the setting panel. You can see that the panel have 10 divisions, just set each gear visually like it's showed with their respective numbers on the picture for a 6 gear box.
Don't care about ratios numbers.
After this don't touch anything else, just fix the max speed you wanty to reach with the help of the final gear setting.
Higher final gear = shorter gearbox
Lower final gear = longer gearbox

Hope i was clear now.
Good luck and have a good night.

Ok, so, for a 6 gear transmission, it's set to about equal spacing. 6th gear all the way over, first gear all the way over, and everything in between is supposed to be equally spaced, right?
