I'm told that I'm off-topic. Care to get this train back on its rails with some more GT5P ideas?

Fuel choice. I think I started a thread a while ago, as in last year, to have a choice in different fuels. Like E85, bio-diesel, Methanol, Multi blends with pre-mix ect. There really is a lot of different things that you can do to make your car different with what kind of fuels that you put into your car.

I just want to be able to run my car on whatever fuel suits the race. For instance, say you have a short 2 lap race and your all the way in the back and your up against a half a grid of F430's. What do you fuel up you Fuel up your S2000 with? Pump gas? I think not. You need something with a little boost. Say 112 Octane with some nitro-propane blend? Ya. That should get things moving. But the biggest drawback would be engine wear.

Just my 2 cents, dont know if you guys have mentioned it before.

If they implement this fuel-selection they automatically loose all buyers who are not motorheads. I don't think that will ever happen.

I believe PD should push forward in making the upcoming GT titles as technicaly intracate as one could possibly make, yet incorporate an option system that allows the user to alter the complexity of the game. I'd imagine it'd cater both the casual gamer and the hardcore fanatics well, only if done correctly.

I think that GT already caters to both parties, being the one of the most, if not the most intricate racing games ever. And every game from GT1 has had a way of toning things down, or have a softer "pick up and play" side as well as a hardcore gear head side where you can get into every detail. Saying that, I think that going into fuel choices would be a HUGE task, think of all the extra parts / combinations / factors that would go into making that available. Lets face it, if PD does it they are probably going to do it right so I doubt they will incorporate this. They already have enough on their hands with the next gen graphics, new physics, new cars, online racing, having more cars on the track, etc. Like I said, stuff like that would be cool, but I wouldn't get my hopes up....

Why has this thread turned into a wish list? I need this thread to be a source of new information about the game not junk talk about what you WANT to be in the game. If you want to talk new fuel then make a thread for it. It's iritating when I see a new reply to this thread and open it up to find nothing useful to the release of GT5P.

Word!

I edited the post now, waiting for the truth...

..and the truth was found here at GT Planet

it was GTHD pics that got mixed at Webhallen.Com

Ok, so the Prologue video was pretty much the most awesome racing game video ever...

Seriously, I was watching a program that covers the latest racing games. Forza 2 and PGR 4 were in it as well but none of these came close to GT's vid. I mean, when I saw the Motul Z standing in the pits, I was actually doubting if it was a game or real-life. Also, the piece were the camera turns around the Z and the background changes, is the most awesome piece of racing game video EV4R! Then the Ferrari came on screen, together with all the other cars. I couldn't believe the details  But then again, it's a trailer, not an in-game video I guess...But still, I'm really really looking forward to the Prologue release now, even if I don't have a PS3...

On that, I'd like to mention that PGR 4 looks completely boring and dull, which streetgoing motorbike is able to beat a Toyota GT-One? Yeah, pretty much none except for maybe the Hayabusa or MV Agusta something...

yeah, i personalkly hate the fact that some developers mix cars and bikes, but what can you do. I just hope PD keeps it stricktly to cars.

Heia Norge!!!

In japanese, here's a translation from GAF.
Rough translation, JGAFers please correct me or add anything that I have missed.

http://www.famitsu.com/interview/article/2007/08/01/668,1185973654,76199,0,0.html

Key points from the interview:

# The game that could be released on 10/24/2007 to coincide with the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. Being that this years Tokyo Motor Show will be "revolutionary" for Japanese automakers debuting their brand new sports cars.

# Various new online features will be announced and the game will be playable at the Leipzig show this month

# GT:HD Concept will be removed from the PSN network when Prologue is released [boo, I like this game]

# GT Prolouge will be Home compatible

# There will be a "My Page" screen selectable from the title. Having given the online race component a lot of thought, the "My Page" will store your friends list, even calender, ranking etc. The online component will try to build an online community like social networking sites like "My Space", "Mixi" (Japanese MySpace equivalent)

# While the game is called "Grand Turisimo Prologue" it will be less like an arcade mode but closer to a simplified version of "Grand Turismo Mode" in the other GT games; making money, buying cars, etc.

# It will be a Grand Turismo "World". In the final version they would like to have people be able to walk around a town and look at cars. They will creating each detail of the city as well as the car. Other then Tokyo they will have scenic views like natural environments as well.

# GT:Prologue will have 40 cars and 4 race tracks (8 different configurations). Including tracks not seen before.

# When asked about downloadable content, he responds "now right now, but likely later on". When asked if the "Grand Turismo Award" winners from the 2006 SEMA shown in Las Vegas will be available; tuned 1960 Corvette and HKS CT230R Yamauchi responds, "I think one of the them. "

# Cockpit view will be available. If you are using the steering wheel you can look around in the cockpit using the d-pad[most people know this from playing gt4, but it's apparently "new"]. For instance, it the Ferrari F430 you can appreciate the shine off the carbon fiber and the quality of the black leather seats. You can tell the quality difference in the leather of the Ferrari versus other cars.

# In Grand Turismo 5 you will be able to fully customize the interior.

# Depending on which car you drive your clothing will be different. Different helmet designs and other details that relate to the car manufacter.

edit: bolded important points.

-> Gauges, stereo, steering wheel, etc., not looking forward to that.

-> The big news for me is that GT HOME, good thing I didn't register MyScrap. And that custom helmets and drivers gear. (:

Hey ah um wha? Fully? Interior? What is there to customize in the first place?

Duck, are you mad? You can't tell me you've never had one of your own vehicles picked out in interior options? :D

# Various new online features will be announced and the game will be playable at the Leipzig show this month.
Hopefully, the demo will allow an online battle for players. But good to hear.

# There will be a "My Page" screen selectable from the title. Sounds great, but I hope this was an add-on thought as I don't want to know this was picked instead of something more entertaining.
# While the game is called "Grand Turisimo Prologue" it will be less like an arcade mode but closer to a simplified version of "Grand Turismo Mode" in the other GT games; making money, buying cars, etc.
Hmm. I'd have liked to see a full deal of the physics in the new engine, but here's hoping it's being worked on.
# It will be a Grand Turismo "World". In the final version they would like to have people be able to walk around a town and look at cars. They will creating each detail of the city as well as the car. Other then Tokyo they will have scenic views like natural environments as well.
Although other things could be done instead of this, I for one, love this idea. As a major enthusiast, not only do I like driving them, I love looking at them. And the fact that cars in this statement "...look at cars" is plural, that really excites me. Multiple cars in Photomode? Yes, please. Having different folks show their cars in a photomode session? Def. yes, please.
# GT:Prologue will have 40 cars and 4 race tracks (8 different configurations). Including tracks not seen before.
I think we have an idea of what the tracks are, new tracks are always a plus. Although, I really want to see how much detail put into GT5's Cote D' Azur.
Although the, "I think one of them" is a bit of a "Wait, huh?", I'd be willing to bet it's the HKS for 1, it's Japanese, and 2...well, I'd rather drive it than the modified 1960's Corvette.
Nothing new (TDU did it as did PGR3), but with the detail of the cockpit, should make for some high quality goodness. Here's also hoping photomode will allow incar shots.
# In Grand Turismo 5 you will be able to fully customize the interior.
Nothing new again, but the quality will certainly be higher.
# Depending on which car you drive your clothing will be different. Different helmet designs and other details that relate to the car manufacter.
Although I'd prefer buying gear, this also a warm welcome and another tidbit of realism.

Now, can I be confirmed some reverse lights? Not a giant issue, but oh, it's such a pet peeve for me. :D

customizable interiors probably means that you can choose between regular factory options. Like seat colors, different shift knob, etc.

Pretty obvious, but I'm sure many Forza fans will use it as excuse that PD meant changing your steering wheels, and everything. Whatever gives the die-hard Forza fans reason to complain about GT.

That kind of "customization" if you want to call it that is wortless/pointless. I'm still going with the Physics argument and fanboy or not there's a reason why FM2 was being played while GT4 is collecting dust. We'll see about GT5...

It might also mean things like weight reduction mods, ie replace the dash with a carbon fiber dash, steering wheel with a racing wheel, the seats with racing seats etc. It probably means factory options like the seat and trim colours though, which I'm not against. It's just an extension of picking your car colour which I'm sure most people would moan about if it waxs deemed "pointless".

So, it's pointless to incorporate realism into buying a vehicle in a game, in which said game is all about having realism?
I'm surprised you call this worthless while Forza 2 offers you fantasy exterior modifications for almost every high performance car, something GT has been criticized about.

Can't wait to hear what the online features will be when they're announced at Leipzig. Not really interested in this community thing using Home, just looking for solid online play with more realistic physics.

Sounds pretty damn entertaining to me! I definetly want to create a profile, only to have people check out my awesome photos once I get noticed for kicking ass in the Championships. Or if someone is looking for someone of their skill level, find friends that way. Love it
Here's also hoping photomode will allow incar shots.

Hopefully this implies I can create my own unique decals.

Yeah, but they're all massive in GT4, at least the FM2 wings arn't as big as a shed. I'd like GT5's to have a better variety size wise as well as design wise. If I want a small wing I should be able oto choose a small wing. But also GT4 lacks a physically present front splitter, something Forza 2 actually models.

My main gripe with Forza 2's splitter mod isthat it's only attachable to the cars stock bodywork, I'd have liked to have been able to attach it to any front bumper you can pick.

hm, the article says that the present version currently has a 8 player rolling start for online (I believe, someone better at Japanese please confirm), but that this is provisional. It does mention 12 for online in the same paragraph, so what we'll get in release hasn't been decided I guess.

Maybe a minimum of 8 or 8 in prologue, and a max of 12 in GT5? We'll see.

Can't wait for this XD
