Pre-release GT5:Prologue Thread Firmware 2.17 mandatory for GT5:P? (and Pictures)

Guys,I'm stating to become very nervous about the release of GT5P. Why??
Well its getting fairly close to release and theres no mention of anything lately. In the past this has resulted in an announcement alright but that of a delay.
I think its highly probable and likely we may get a delay......Oh god I hope I'm wrong.:nervous: Anyone else felt like that?

My guess is PD is polishing details and not adding any more content to Prologue. There's nothing new to show :-)

That’s the official Japanese PlayStation Shopping page for GT5P where there’s a little message stating that preorders will be available from the 29th of November. What’s interesting about this is that last week it had listed the 22nd instead. Both dates are a Thursday, the day when big (PS3) GT reveals have been made in the past.

Considering the weight that GT5P holds there will no doubt be some PS3 bundles announced, but with the 40GB and Shin Sangoku Musou 5 bundles having been launched so recently, Sony Japan has clearly decided to delay any sort of news. Once the short lived momentum subsides they’ll be ready to start it all off again.

As far as I can see, SCEJ aren’t accepting preorders at the moment because they know there’ll be other GT5P products (PS3 bundles) available, thus holding off allowing the consumer to better choose what they want once an official press release has been made.

Fingers crossed tomorrow we might see some pictures from Famitsu with an official unveiling the following day.

If nothing happens this Thursday (Japan time), something’s definitely not right…

AUGH! This has me painting up more cars in Forza 2, dang it...

*paints more cars*

This is like waiting for Christmas! Er... never mind.

I am curious of what's causing the delays. Is it server readiness, GTTV? Hopefully Polyphony will sneak us a peak at something substantial pretty soon, or I might have to paint up some more Forza 2 cars... :P

UPDATE: New GT-TV Content

The new video is the first of a three part series, and features some really nice footage of the GT-R in action at the Nürburgring as well as some nice shots of the under carriage, engine bay, and interiors.

What's interesting is that the translation suggests this GTTV feature for the demo is just a trial, and that it will end next week... but it also suggests part 2 and part 3 won't be released until the December 13th release date for GT5:P in Japan. So this may be the last video for the demo, and all future GTTV releases will be for the full game only.
 
Wow, That was awesome. If only I understand japanese. And Kaz can drive! I'm betting he's getting a free GT-R since he had an part in its design:sly:

Well... what do you expect from one of the best selling game series of all-time with about 50 million copies sold to date?

There is obviously a lot of interest in the series, even the Prologues.
 
looking at that teaser video the game looks fairly different to the gt5:P demo. jaggies look to be gone. shadows look smoother (in car) and not so dark. cant wait for the release
 
This just makes me even more mad that I don't have and can't afford a PS3.

My pc is broken and the PS3 can't play that, it says I've got to upgrade my flash player. Yeah right...
 
I'm skeptical...the Amazon page looks like recycled info from back when HD was going to be a game, there's no news on this anywhere else, and the price is listed at sixty dollars.
 
A quick side note, first off amazing thanks to amar for getting all the info on page 1, real great stuff. Secondly I beleive this thread should be stickied. 7 days away from GT5:P release and I feel a huge influx of threads asking questions about the game when most of the info is/probably will be, in the first post here.

Seriously looking forward to this, gonna get a ps3 specially once I have saved up and it will also be the first game I have imported.

LOL.....Well, that is according to Amazon. It is nothing more than a sales tactics at this point to scam people from getting pre-orders before christmas since they are all in the "shopping zombie" mode.

Anyone who knows about online retailer release dates and pre-orders knows that there are no need for "checks and balances". Any retailer can hype a fictional release date, as they can change it anytime they want. The cover art is fictional and had no ESRB rating....

As it stands now, there is still NO official date set for NA release.

This, along with Metal Gear Solid 4, is the best reason to get a PS3:D
 
i did some searching and found 2-3 sites also saying a feb 19 release date but more than likely the date is taken from amazon.

none of the typical sites you see news like this seems to have anything though.

Normally I would have found it funny had the release date been listed as Feb 29th... but 2008 happens to be a leap year. :)
 
A couple of "quite" trusted game dealer sites, here i Finland, say that the release date would be 28.2.2008.
Anyway, I ordered PS3 yesterday.. So it´s gonna be GT4 and "the green hell" till then.. and of course Suzuka.
(Still +two months :grumpy: )

Today Dengeki.com unvield cooperation of PD and Nissan regarding new GT-R in TV commercial (for GT5:P?), while the commercial offered a final confirmation of Japanese relase-date for GT5: Prologue.
