I hope the JPN version will get patched. If not, something is wrong.

By the way, some cars have spoilers, different wheels etc. It is the tuned version, right? I highly doubt we get customization.

Some nice pics there. Might have to put a few new pics into your theme alba.

It's the tamora

Yep, i'm actually saving everything new i got so i can choose which one fits best, tired for the ones i got now and they need to be made better anyway :P

OMG the 512......FANBOY EXPLOSION.........I dont know if I should buy my PS3 now or if I should wait for the 80GB MGS4 w/ Dualshock pack. When do we get pictures of the 512?.......OMG

I would say get it now!
I just got my PS3 about a month ago so that i was all set up for GT5P and waiting. (Luckily my wait isn't as long as i'm in the UK, i assume you're in the US?)

Once GT5P hits the streets i think that PS3 uptake will begin to rise rapidly, it sounds silly but it's a more accessible title for most than COD4 and the graphics will pull people in!

what the hell?

GT5 Prologue Adds Stunning Firsts To The Record-Breaking Series: Ferrari Cars Make Their Debut

Gran Turismo online - featuring online races and BBC Top Gear content Sony Computer Entertainment UK has today announced the launch of GT5 Prologue for PlayStation®3. The release marks the 10th anniversary of the Gran Turismo® series. Widely acknowledged as the most realistic of driving games, Gran Turismo has sold almost 50 million copies worldwide and picked up a Bafta award to make it the world’s most successful gaming franchise. Now backed by the graphical power of PlayStation 3, the stunning High Definition format of GT5 Prologue is poised once again to set a new bench mark for driving simulators. GT5 Prologue will be available from 28 March for the suggested retail price of £24.99, available both on Blu-ray disc and as a download from PLAYSTATION®Network (PSN). By popular demand a London track will be making its Gran Turismo debut.

The route travels past famous landmarks such as Piccadilly Circus, the National Portrait Gallery and Trafalgar Square as you screech down Regents Street and up Charing Cross Road - parts of London normally associated with the hustle of London traffic, black cabs and double-decker buses. In all the game features six incredibly detailed tracks from around the world including the London course, the Swiss mountain range at Alp Eiger Nordwand, the 2.5 mile Daytona International Speedway, the High Speed Ring and Japan’s Fuji Speedway and Suzuka Circuit. The realism does not stop with the tracks. Even fans from previous GT games will be amazed by the advancements made in replicating many of the world’s finest cars.

The passion of gaming legend Kazunori Yamauchi, the Japanese creator of the series, is translated into each car performing, handling, sounding and behaving like its road or track going equivalent. It took the team approximately six months to develop each car with, on average, each car model made up of over 200,000 polygons (that’s forty times more than the car models in GT4). With more than 70 cars to choose from, including the Nissan GT-R, Ford GT, Audi R8, TVR Tuscan Speed 6, Aston Martin DB9, the mighty Ferrari 599, the only dilemma is which car to power up first.

GT5 Prologue is further enhanced by its online capability that is accessed through the game, so that all you need is a PlayStation 3 and a broadband connection. One of the online services will be Gran Turismo TV, a dedicated online channel packed with news and content from the world of motoring and motorsport. Downloadable content on GT TV, for example, will include 40 episodes from the cult BBC Top Gear programme. For the first time ever in the illustrious history of Gran Turismo, gamers are now able to compete online with up to 16 players from all over the world able to race head-to-head. The online race feature includes time trails, downloadable ‘ghost’ replays and ranking boards. GT5 Prologue also features an all-new ‘physics’ design for the most realistic driving simulator ever seen and new artificial intelligence opponents for the toughest race challenge yet.

Popular features in GT5 Prologue will also include two-player battles on the split screen mode, a vehicle tuning function, the drift trial mode and a driving line aid to help drivers learn how to take the racing lines. Developed hand-in-hand with the motor industry’s leading marques, including Ferrari for the first time and privileged access to Nissan’s GT-R development programme, GT5 Prologue sets an industry standard. GT5 – the full title – launches in 2009. Until then, there is enough ultra-realistic, high-speed racing in GT5 Prologue on PS3!

Completely off topic
:nervous:I took the liberty of changing some of wallpapers just for myself. :nervous:

Do as you please, that's how themes are supposed to be used, in the way you prefer =D

Alba, if you keep pulling this information out of your hat i'm going to have to come to Belgium and buy you a beer my friend!

Sersiously.... you have made my day.

Shame we already have 70+ cars now, as I had hoped that some cars to be unveiled at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks could appear in the game, as we had with the Tokyo Auto Show.

FANTASTIC NEWS!!! This is awesome I can't explain.

Is it just me, or do the US/EU version screens of the game look more sharp than the Japanese screenshots?

so if all this is in the UK release, where are you guys pre-ordering from, where is the best place?

steve

I've pre ordered from play.com and i know that a fair number of others have. They've got the best price, free delivery and (most importantly) a tendency to dispatch products a couple of days early!

its a japaneese game so they will for sure not give other countries more content than their own

Why not? They have done before, the PAL release of GT Concept had the highest car count of any market. While an update to the Japanese GT5:P can't be ruled out, its not a certainty.

Scaff

I don't know why I bother with other sites when it comes to GT news.

I saw this here first but when I saw the article in Joystiq I wanted to see their take. They called it a demo and said no thanks, making fun of it. Then the article is followed by three pages of comments of people talking about how stupid and greedy Sony is.

I think Phil Harrison was right when he said they didn't give the US GT4 because it would confuse the North American customers. We see the occasional confused new member here, but for the most part we get it. Every other gaming site however has made me realize that the NA market may just be that bad.

I figure I can spend $40 on this or something else, but looking at all other games I would rather pay that cash toward a $40 "demo."

Once again I have seen evidence that GTPlanet is a step (or ten) above all other gaming sites.
