I'm probably the only one who still gets excited about the two-player splitscreen-thanks PD for including it- because I'd like to be able to race friends who are actually in the room with me, without them having to bring along their own PS3 and monitor. Much of the area I live in is rural-slow internet connections rule out the possibility of online play, so this is great news.

I can't think of any reason to torture myself waiting the extra couple weeks for the US release, how hard is it to order from the UK?

what car is that? seems like the gauges look more HI-DEF so thats good.

I am so impatient just like these guys...

Yeah my bro-inlaw says he the man at GT beat me any time he says.

The time has come to put his words into action.
Damn I'll even let him have my JPN version so he can get some practise in before I leave in the exhaust fumes

I don't know why I bother with other sites when it comes to GT news.

I saw this here first but when I saw the article in Joystiq I wanted to see their take. They called it a demo and said no thanks, making fun of it. Then the article is followed by three pages of comments of people talking about how stupid and greedy Sony is.

I think Phil Harrison was right when he said they didn't give the US GT4 because it would confuse the North American customers. We see the occasional confused new member here, but for the most part we get it. Every other gaming site however has made me realize that the NA market may just be that bad.

I figure I can spend $40 on this or something else, but looking at all other games I would rather pay that cash toward a $40 "demo."

Once again I have seen evidence that GTPlanet is a step (or ten) above all other gaming sites.

While its difficult for me to comment on the NA market as a whole, I have to agree that I find it laughable to describe GT5:P as a demo, the car count is as high (and may be one higher) as that of Burnout, it has a reasonable track count and numerous features. To be this is so far beyond a demo it beggars belief, I've seen plenty of full games in the past with less content.

Someone said this was the active thread to discuss this deal. So I'll repost my information.

What did I tell most of you about this Ferrari deal? I'm sure PD will do their very best. As much as this is about providing a lot of available cars from Ferrari, I also tend to think that having this Ferrari license is a way to show hypocrites that Gran Turismo isn't all about Japanese sports cars and Kei cars. I remember from most of my first days on GTPlanet that people were b*tching like crazy about how there are no exclusive exotics. Well, you'll have to be greedy if you aren't happy with this collection. I'd still love to see some Ferrari race cars like from its rival, Forza. Okay, maybe I just want to see Houston's own Risi Competizone in GT5. It's still a wet dream, but even I love Ferraris. My dream Ferraris to race would be the F430GT (as well as the 360 Modena race cars (challenge and GT car)), the Ferrari 330 P4 (inspired by Forza), and my all-time favorite race car- the 333SP. Especially the Momo Ferrari 333SP that I've loved since getting into motorsports. This is a step in the right direction as far as more Ferraris in the GT world.

Most of you make the mistake of thinking that only Ferraris are worth driving. Some of you just look for exotics and call it the Racing Game of the Year.

* Here is a car that isn't an exotic that I love from this lineup: the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo. I've always loved the Honda S2000. I've loved the Amuse S2000 GT1 since racing in one of the Slipstream Battles in GT4. The car is wickedly fast. It's my idea of a "race car for the road" as far as common everyday machines go. And since this is a turbo version, I can only imagine what an already awesome car like is like with an extra shot of turbo. That's going to be a wicked ride. * I am truly curious as to what the Art Morrison Corvette will be like in various disciplines of competition. I don't know my 1960s Corvettes outside of my beloved '63 Sting Ray, but I can only imagine this thing will be awesome to race. * I HAVE to try out that Audi R8. I saw it on the new episode of Top Gear here in the States. Should be a whale of a car to race. * I loved the Blitz Skyline for drifting. Maybe this new one will be just as fun. * I sure hope the Dodge Viper GTS SRT10 Coupe is in blue with white stripes. Why subsequent GT games never featured the blue with white stripes is beyond me. * I'm going to be honest. I never truly liked the Ferrari F40, except when I'ved it in Sega Super GT back in the arcades. I've gotten into and loved the F50 more than the F40. Personal preference. * The Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium should be an awesome car to race as I've loved tuning the 2005 Mustang in GT4. * The Lexus IS-F is amazing. I'd love nothing more than to take this car for a ride. There was a demonstration outside at the 2008 Houston Auto Show of its acceleration capabilities. Damn that car has a wicked sound! * It doesn't make me any less of a man to want to race the Mini Cooper S. The original pocket rocket (the vintage Minis, at least). Ruled rally and touring car from what I've heard. * I think the Nissan GT-R is pretty cool. Oh, what am I saying? It's great! I'd love to race it. Honest! * I like both Peugeots, even if the 307 rally car wasn't truly successful in World Rally competition. Those are among most of my real favorites.

I usually call IGN as "IGNore," but this is a good report from IGN. Makes me want a PlayStation 3 even more.

I wonder why they haven't included it in GT5P, maybe because it hasn't got a roof?

EDIT: My bad, I overlooked it in the car list. :embarrassed:
So does this mean we can drive convirtibles with the top down?

F40 and 512BB thats worth the EU Purchase right there.
PD do not include the F50 in the full game, that was the worst looking "miami" piece of crap Ferrari have EVER made.

OMG Blitz ER34 i can all ready see my self drifting.:D But what happend to the R33 GTR v spec II that was in the screen shots and video's before the Japanese GT5p was out.

And if the Japanese version does't get an updat then i will buy the EU version.

I'm sorry but what makes you think that PD will listen to you? PD need to include cars which different people will like, such as I myself am intrested in British sports cars as for some people have a passion over Japanese tuner cars. It doesn't matter how you think, there is a large audience for the F50, hell even I liked the F50 so PD have to satisfy different people. Also if they did include it on the full version of GT5 and you didn't like it then don't drive it, simple. :D

****

But I'm still ecstatic about the Aston Martin, hopefully they will have got the proportions right this time and it will beautiful....

Why not? They have done before, the PAL release of GT Concept had the highest car count of any market. While an update to the Japanese GT5:P can't be ruled out, its not a certainty.

Scaff

thats right scaff, they did do that before but times have changed since than man...the whole online and internet adding to gt has globalised the game so much that what we write here on this great site is also being read in japan by our sweet pd staff.....i know this for sure cause have a good friend in japan who is one of the biggest gt-fan there and thus also reads every article in every magazine and site available, and he said that pd is "watching" all info users of gt5p are putting on the net!!!....so if they are really doing this, why would they leave all japaneese people who have downloaded gt5p from the store ,being left out of all the new content, and so not being able to race online with "the world" when they dont even have the same racetracks and cars???.....i just cannot believe they would do that.....:).......time will tell....:sly:....spyrrari.

Yes, the first modern F1 for the road car looked like a piece of crap. Function over beauty.
And what on earth does Miami have anything to do with it?

Besides that, I hope they do include it. Then, I can drive it, and you can just ignore it.

The F50 shares as much with an F1 car as a Yugo shares with a Lexus. And it's still ugly, not that I think the F40 is any better.

Personally, I'd much rather have the 512BB/LM instead of the standard road car. Twice as good looking.

Still, the fact someone doesn't like the look of it is pretty soft grounds to say it shouldn't be in the game.

You know I think I'm going to buy the UK version, I already have the Japanese one but it'd be nice to get the UK one. Also I think the serves I'll play online through will be UK based and not the Japanese ones.

Who said the F50 was sharing anything? It's still obvious that the technology and parts in it derived from a Ferrari Formula 1. Unless of course, someone wants to say Ferrari's own word is wrong.

I just noticed from my excitement that the XK is just an XK not XK-R :(

By the way. What cars are we going to be able to TUNE? Only the tunned ones? Or both STOCK and tunned ones?

Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
Honda NSX Type R '02
Mazda RX-7 (FD) Special Tuned Car
Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) ‘02
Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) Tuned Car
Mazda RX-8 Type S ‘03
Mine’s BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 base ‘06
RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7

Mines R34?! Amemiya FD3S and Amuse S2k?! I think I just wet myself....touge anyone?

Hmmm, wonder if the Top Gear crew suggested including classic Ferraris to PD? And the DB9, of course, LOL
