Announcing the collaboration between Citroen Design and Polyphony Digital

http://www.gran-turismo.com/en/news/d1930.html

At the press day of the Geneva Auto Show (Open to the general public from March 6 (Thurs.) – March 16) held in Switzerland, Citroen has announced their new collaboration with Polyphony Digital.

On March 4th at 12:15pm, Gilles Michel who stood at the podium for the press briefing of the Geneva Auto show announced at the end of his speech, that “Citroen will now work as a creator in the Video Game world hereafter”. Simultaneous to the announcement, an image clip “Gran Turismo meets CITROËN” was played on the overhead monitor, and the Gran Turismo” series producer Kazunori Yamauchi stepped up onto the stage. And in front of the large number of news media, the collaboration between the two companies was officially announced.

Citroen will create a special sports model concept car for “Gran Turismo”, in a unique collaboration project to be presented to the world. The result of the collaboration will be presented at the Paris Auto salon in October this year.

Citroen has won glorious victories in the WRC (World Rally Championship) in recent years, and through the new innovations in design by their design director, Jean Pierre Ploué, has been successful in their business as well. Look forward to the result of their collaboration.

My you folk get bribed easily.
The only good thing i noticed was split screen two player offline.
There was no mention of an improved "professional mode" physics fix.
There was no mention of an updated A.I. fix.
There was no mention of an updated collision detection fix.
And still $40 bucks for a Demo is just pathetic,It doesn't matter about any of the justicfication's made for said price either.
Here's the best part, out of all those pretty screenshots you are all drooling over, you have all ignored the same crap GT4 wing stuck on the back of either that Mitsubishi EVO or that GT-R.
If all i've got to choose from is stock or "race tuned" is a sad choice in this day. And if all the next GT has going for it is pretty graphics i'd rather have (i can't believe i'm aying this) it looks like a console race of choice will be Race Driver Grid. At least they have an Working A.I. and Damage system, too bad about the rest.
Nice crap wing on that car.....but hey at least it looks nice in high def....
(QUICK!) look at that ferrari!

lies, it's a GT5p pic and you know it! (just misses the rocks and stuff) :P

Can't wait to drive the F40 ! could be awesome if we could have special events such as the Ferrari days ! thousands horsePower and red everywhere...

I just want to get my hands on a 512BB (I hope it will be available in white) and go for a drive on Eiger Nordwand. Ahh bliss!

The collaboration between PD and Citroën is also potentially very exciting. I've always liked Citroëns and their older cars especially have always been rather unique. I think it would be great to have a few classics like a SM in the game.

What I think is great is how more and more companies collaborate with PD. GT has established itself so much so that the car companies realise the importance and benefits of having their product in the game.

Mornin all!

The US GT website has been updated overnight...GT US

Whilst the new cars aren't on there to ogle yet.... their spaces are all reserved so the site provides the definitive list to supplement Albas information overload yesterday.

Who's willing to put money on a website crash from all of our traffic gawping at the F40 and 512BB when they do go live?

As per usual though, the EU site STILL hasn't been updated at all.

Whilst the main topic in the last few posts has been Citroen, i can't help but think the Peugot missed a trick by putting the 307CC in instead of the new 308RC Z

Also the VW Scirocco is looking pretty damm good and i hope will make it into the full fat GT5P

Not really Important But......

They have not put pics of the Daihatsu OFC-1 or the Mazda Atenza Sport.
Even though they are unlockable in the JPN version .

Just something i noticed :)

...I just am one of the very few who would rather the cars be so realistic in handling that even winning a race or getting an actual time record would feel like an acomplishment, instead of just anyone jumping in a Ferrari F430,F40,etc and popping off record hotlaps.
I doubt i would be able to do so without a lot of practice if the physics were more "professional", you know that mode that was supposed to be much more realistic.

So your saying you could jump in the F430 on pro pyhsics all aids off and go straight to the the top of the time sheets with little or no practice?

yeah right...

There's your reason...if you were looking for one. :boggled:

The Viper GTS is also missing pictures at the US GT5P website, the Viper is bought, not unlocked.

European Bundle for GT5: Prologue has been announced, and now it's accompanied with picture showing the bundle. Retail price should be 399 euros while bundle should be on disposal day after the solo-game - March 29. Official announcement is still on hold. Notice that bundle should come with "normal" Sixaxis, not with DualShock 3 (wierd).
I was considering to buy the GT5P pack, but without a DS3 I wont.

5 cars which are missed from SCEE's release list comparing to SCEA's are:

Lexus IS F Tuned Car, Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) Tuned Car, Peugeot 207GTI '07, Peugeot 307cc Premium AVN '04 and RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7.

Speculations start, please :D

Please please give us the RX-7s, we need some rotors, if only to see how the engine notes have been improved!

EDIT: Take back above comment, we will get 3 which is better than none!

- Mazda RX-8 Type S '03
- Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD)
- Mazda RX-7 (FD) Special Tuned Car

Still a shame no RE Amemiya RX7 and the Tuned IS-F will definately be interesting for our US friends.
Any chance a future update will contain the extra cars mentioned by amar212?

Most of us will, but I'm sure some anti-GT person will say, "Oh noes, F40 looks wrong". I can't remember how many Forza folks hollered at PGR4 for such small mistakes.

I'm disappointed my favorite car throughout the entire Gran Turismo series isn't in GT5 Prologue.

Here's to the '97 Camaro Z28 being included in the full GT5 version in the future. And unlike GT4, I hope this time it has exhaust pipes, instead of backfiring from non-existant ones. :) It'd be cool if they all finally had a black roof like most Z28s as well...

Also, I really hope my favorite Ferrari is included in the full version of the game: a 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB, single-exit exhaust, dry-sump, European bumpers, and European deep spoiler!

Oh man I cannot wait to drive the new 135 tii, I've already fell in love with that car just from the press photos I have seen in EVO magazine. It's to funny how the minute there is new info on GT, my nerves start to go crazy and the anticipation makes me want to go nuts. I am just psyched that prologue is actually coming to the states, i have mine pre-ordered and i cannot wait to get my first taste of GT5, with the G25 on PS3.

I also pray PD continue to add more old school cars such as that 512.

I also want to see some more Callaway Cars in GT5! Let's see the
C8:

C7R:

C12:

C16:

B2K Speedster:

LeMans (LM):
And we need to be able to tune the '97 Camaro Z28, '01 Camaro SS, and any Corvettes newer than 1987 in the Callaway tuner section too!:drool::drool:
in the game! 👍

Meh, all I can think of is that 1/6 of the tracks will be boring old annoying Suzuka.

I'll still buy it, though, assuming that I have my PS3 by then.

You know..I don't think this is the GT5 Car Wishlist thread, so calm down with the amount of them! There is a proper thread for this after all. This thread is for GT5P stuff not pictures of real car thread. It just helps keep it a bit more organised.

Wow, great news about the BB and F40! Forgive my lazyness for not looking it up, but is the HSR the one from GT4, or the good one from the first two games? Im guessing it is the former, but i still have hope.
