The Album icon is new too.
Obviously relates to Photomode.
The only thing that makes me a little sceptical is that date on the calendar.
But I agree looks like we may be able to launch into Home and create a private race from there.

I'm the only one that is amazed about that picture?. If the ALBUM icon is new... take a look at the screen, it's japanese.... means that the japanese is going to have those new things too?, happy for them if they're able to an upgrade, I would like to play agains japanese people with the new cars too.

I'll wait a few days after the release here in Spain too, to check if it contains the 5 cars that doens't appears on the SCEE list, and then think about import it in case that could be real.

I also think that Polyphony Digital will aproach as much as they can the Ferrari licence, so many models could be out there on GRAN TURISMO 5, but that's not my best dream.. my best dream is when we could race on La Sarthe on a Mazda 787B with the Playstation 3 graphics, again a Ferrari racer for Le Mans circuit (Ferrari 333SP for example, already said by JohnBM01). Or even Ferrari Formula.. oh my god, we could spent hours dreamin' :_D

Those are OLD pictures, more than half year old. So, do not take them into concern when thinking about actual game we'll get in few days. PhotoMode and Home are something that we can't expect to have before the full game at this point.

That picture really is old, I wouldn't count on Album to be included. If you also notice the some of the icons are different, just like the old pre-GT5P release version shown at shows in 2007. The icons have updated since then.

You will see different Icons and missing album and home.
 
Point taken Viper. I was a little quick to jump on that picture( Big kid in a toy shop :) ).

With that said Photomode is to going to be included so there may be an Album icon yet. After all where else are you going to keep those awesome pic's of your F40 flying round Te High Speed Ring ?
 
In the latest press releases no photomode options of any kind have been mentioned. Just like prior to the JP release of GT5P photomode was listed, but never made it to the final game, originally photomode was also listed as a feature in the US/EU versions but since no trace has been found in latest feature lists.

I personally doubt US/EU GT5P will have any kind of photomode/photolocation.

I actually am one of the few who love the styling of the F50. All thanks to NFS2 over 11 years ago. Also the fact that back in 1997 I saw one of only 3 F50 GT's at the SF International Auto Show. That is a sight I will never forget... :drool:

Yep, you've done quite a few good models for the nfs games (im 2FAST4U on nfscars...been there since '01).

I'm surprised nobody is talkin about the 1960 Vette that's gonna be included in GT5P...it looks gorgeous! Need...more...muscle cars...

the deal that PD made with Ferrari is pretty huge. i don't think they would get that just to have 3 or 4 models. expect to see all famous Ferraris in GT5 (testarossa, F50, enzo, 348, 355, 456, 360 and so on) i expect at least 15 models.

i keep seeing pics, hearing information, and i'm still concerned that we are yet to see a racing car. i thought this update would include some - but still no luck - so i hope by the time E3 comes around they can have something. at least the xanavi 350z and the lexus race car that we already heard about

I think that the High Speed Ring (which I loved in GT1, but went off in later games) could be a really good choice actually. It is wide as Daytona, which allows for sensible overtaking in online play, it's fast, plenty of drafting potential to keep the races tight, and as it is relatively small and featureless it may run faster than tracks like London.

Just my two cents.
 
Yeah, I expect not only weather conditions as rain for some kind of tires but also temp. degrees to the pressure or lifetime of the tires.

Looking at what happened with Daytona, I would think (at least hope) that this will be same come proper GT5.

At the same time though, there are little tiny arrows on the left and right sides of the icons as a whole, which means not all of the options are being shown i don't think....because GTTV isn't listed in that row of icons, so maybe something hidden? But yeah photomode probably won't make it, but we will see...

GTTV, online, and save game are three that are in the JPN version not shown in the pic.

Could the home logo sit next to the online logo? and the photo mode be within the replay mode? tune in next week LOL With all these shots they nearly allways show something new and hide more than they show you LOL Do love that F40 though
 
will the UK version coming out this month have the 2 player option? will it have all these new cars like the 512 and F40? will it also have High Speed Ring?

or is that just for the US version?
 
If the two versions are basically the same content wise, why is the US version coming out 20 days later? I mean I have the Japanese version, so i can wait, but.....???

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but don't Europe and Japan use a slightly different power rating system than America? Same for weights (kg vs lbs)?

It may just be conversion time.

Or just since this is not new to Europe it factors into some sales equation? Perhaps, as in marketing doesn't need to explain it as much to Europeans. Lord knows I've seen enough comments on the interwebs to show a large chunk of American gamers just don't get it.

Funny thing though, I just hired a new guy who likes Gran Turismo and when he found out I did he mentioned that he was planning to buy a PS3 just for Prologue. I am thinking only the die hards even get it just because we've been paying attention.


Or it could be some odd backroom business decision that only makes sense when discussed in that exact backroom.
 
Yeah I assume the NA delay has to do with metric to US conversions and other region localizations (colour vs color, programme vs program, etc)

576 performance points, Hmmmmm looks like you can only tune so far, maybe you can do more in the "in depth" tuning in the EU Version.

Booked my day off work for this, hopefully the Blu - Ray from Game.uk.com will come early like all the other titles they ship early.

No doubt-or the dimwits are more vocal here. I've given up arguing about it and stopped reading the comments at places like gamersyde, it makes my blood boil. I expect the naysayers will quietly join the fold later to avoid being left out of the party.



Edit: Clownshoe, nice find. That's more adjustment than I was expecting, honestly. I was thinking more along the lines of GT4 Arcade mode, but this looks a bit more detailed.

Is that a scroll bar on the right? Possibly more options below that aren't being shown. Unfortunately the options shown include everything mentioned in the press release (power, weight, tires, suspension). I hope there's more!
 
Indeed a scroll bar, maybe the gear ratio's are further down. Looks like tyres and aero are locked off on this ride, 291BHP is that like an NSX, Evo X territory. Perhaps only the the aero can be adjusted on tuned cars ??

What do you think about the 100% weight box, do you reckon you can reduce the weight in % terms which will equal using some performance points ?
