Project C.A.R.S(new screens on page 2)

No I havent made up any liveries yet, I have for other sims, it's so much easier on the PC.

but I upgraded my editing system to VISTA8 sorry windows 8 :) and its bust I called in Micrisoft suport in and they have had two go's and still cannot fix it, it's been escalated.. but in the meantime theyve completely stuffed it (bleedin hackers, professionals my ass!) I've been left with software thats half installed cause they manually tried to brute force remove my antivirus...using another companies trial software!! amateurs I tell you. I'd have been quicker just reinstalling it, except me and a few thousand others are having the same issue!!

Why in earth did you upgrade in the first place  This story will make me wait loooong time before I'm going to upgrade.. :ill:

Wow... P.Cars is borderline RIDICULOUS!!

Don't think this is going to turn out all that great on the X360.

If only I could somehow revive a little enthusiasm and motivation to get a gaming PC....eeekhh!

I did for iRacing and since then I got back again into pCars and other PC games. I still game on the Xbox but I use it now for the chill out on the couch games..

Update on the PC.. fixed took a different tech 30 seconds to resolve it!! 👍

Must have got a muppet the first time:irked:

He also fixed the issues caused by the first tech.. so I'm up and running again, and typing this from the machine.. :sly:

Gaming PCs today...do they still require a lot of *software tweaking* in order for the games to take advantage of all the meaty hardware components? I remember having to do quite a bit of tweaking and optimization before games would run smoothly, back in the day. One of the reasons why PC gaming put me off a few years back.

Still the same case? Also, how much would you say for a decked out gaming PC that's able to run games at really high resolutions, with effects and detail levels set to the absolute max?

I play pCars with everything maxed out and I only rarely get FPS drops but with 30+ people or AI's it's getting harder to run it smoothly. But you don't have to run this game on max to get nice graphics..

My setup:
i7 3770k
Asus Sabertooth Z77
Asus GTX 650 Ti

and I have Windows, programs and games installed on my SSD.

It's much more fun to find out yourself, but monitors, keyboards, mouses, sound, those things make it expensive.

Go online and make a shopping cart where you can order pc's..

Uh yeah, thanks Carlos.

Very helpful.

Give me a question I can answer. You ask what a rig could cost, depends, do you want a 20 dollar keyboard or 200 dollar one? Do you want a 100 dollar or 500 dollar screen? How many screens do you want? 3? 4? 5? 1 GPU or 3? SLI of Crossfire?

I gave you my specs as reference for your own setup, it's up to you to do something with it or not.

Edit:
New update new bugs it seems :D

Well, no need for the screen I think. I'll just use my HDTV and the sound system I got hooked up to it.

If you check an earlier post of mine on this page, you'll see that I mentioned how I want to be able to play every game on the max detail and effects settings. At nothing less than 60 fps, rock solid. No stuttering or performance issues. FULL 60 fps or higher.

Cheers, and thanks for the input.

^ You know they tend to set up "max detail/effects" to take advantage of future hardware, right? You're never going to have a PC that does it all, and you'll spend thousands trying to get there. Just saying.

Yeah pretty much a waste of money. With my setup I play on max but HDR turned off, does it perfectly.

Hmm.. well, it looks like I'm sticking to consoles for now. Thanks for the FB.

Happy gaming!

Hey speedster you want to get as much graphics card as you can afford and THEN you want to make sure it can and you know how to overclock it.

I used to be able to run pcars with graphics through the roof when I was on one screen but I haven't been able to get it where i like with 3 screens admittedly I haven't really been trying. pCars is nice and all but it needs some work. But it is worth having in your stable of racing sims.

I've been primarily rFactor2'ing it. Can't get enough of that one and it's still beta. iRacing is fine and all but personally I think it's overrated. I like the game and it's structure but I'm not a fan of it's pricing model at all. They sent me a nice offer to renew and I'm still on the fence about it. I've read some forums and it's like the GT5 vs Forza argument all over again. lol.

The good thing about rFactor2 and iRacing is you don't need a mucho-powered graphics card to run them. I was able to run iRacing maxed out 3 screens with just one XFX Double D 7870 and almost maxed out rFactor2. For full disclosure I do overclock my graphics card. It can handle it easily and gives a big performance gain.

Be careful when building for pCars because they are still beta so we don't know what's what yet. Supposedly when these games are finished they should be "optimized" and perform better than they do now. What that really translates to I have no clue. I would like to hear from someone who has played a beta that wasn't optimized and played a finished product.

This is precisely why I gave up on PC gaming. Having to upgrade every now and then, or just trying to find the right sweet spot so as to run games on max settings, without the stuttering... it was all a bit much.

Consoles: turn on TV, sound system, console...pop in disc...plop on the bed/chair...and it's happy hour! No worries at all!

I totally hear where you're coming from. But I have to say rFactor2 , imo, is well worth the hassle. Both rFactors are worth it. If racing is all you care about. If you do other gaming then I can't help you.

With half the quality ;)

Don't know what they did with this game but I hate it now. Can't even drive a full lap pushing it, drives so weird at all times :boggled:

I hope they didn't "Shift" it. Are you experiencing difficulty holding a constant line on a turn, and are you getting over steer well after a turn?
