Exactly. Maybe the 917k or 73' rsr thrown in too lol.Personally, I'd like to see 4 more with the 919 Hybrid, 991 RSR (GTE), Porsche Supercup and the Porsche 906/6L to compete with the Ford GT40 and the Ferrari.
OMFG WE DO!!!
Updated OP of the thread so it's actually up to date.
Yeah I'm not a big fan of the basically duplicates of 3 of the cars even if one is built for "straightaways". Two 935s, two 962s and two 911 gt3s could have easily been a 908, 917k and maybe a 959. Hell even the new 911 rsr would have been a treat. What's the difference in the 935/77 and 935/80? Aren't they both the group 5 car? The GT3 endurance is a bit weird. Hopefully it's not replacing the RSR.

I don't like duplicates either. Although looking at SMS's track record I'd like to think there's more to these cars that make them unique from their counterpart. The aren't S2000's where one has power steering and one doesn't after all . I'm still holding out for the 2017 RSR around LeMans since AC got it recently.Yeah I'm not a big fan of the basically duplicates of 3 of the cars even if one is built for "straightaways". Forza and GTSport are in the firing line of Project Cars 2.In the firing line of Forza (and like GTSport). Bad decision in my opinion. Oh and close to FIFA too.

What does GTS have over pCars 2 in your opinion that would make this release date a bad decision? No disrespect but they'll be fine.

I'm not even sure whether to actually get GTSport to be honest. Barely played the beta now. What does GTS have over pCars 2 in your opinion that would make this release date a bad decision?
Yes Gran Turismo does have a bigger fan base from the number of years it's been around you have a point there. Something I noticed about pCars 1 was that it was the first sim on ps4 but some of my friends who were still on PS3 playing gt6 didn't make the switch to PS4. There's still a lot of people on PS3 just for gt6 actually. If those people make the switch to PS4 for GTS and pCars 2 comes out before GTS then I think GTS will be in trouble. The main thing is the brand. It's like last year -- PES was arguably the better game but FIFA crushed it. In this case PCARS isn't competing against one FIFA but two. Even on PC they'll be competing with Forza 7.

I'm not saying they won't buy it. They might try pCars as well and never look back. Personally I played a lot of gt5 and gt6 and had a lot of fun. I could never go back though after trying pCars. Why would they make a switch because of GTSport and then not buy it?
I think the big question is how many players are each game going to sway from another title. Player base at this point is a moot point. The big fact is how many each platform loses or gains. In the firing line of Forza (and possibly GTSport). Bad decision in my opinion. Oh and close to FIFA too.

Another route would be looking at how people bought DRIVECLUB before pCars came out even though they bought a PS4 for pCars 1. Replace DC with pCars 2 and pCars 1 with GTS.
I think it will be a smoother release as I think SMS have purposefully held back on releasing the release date to prevent the public delays and ensure the game is functional on release. If it wasn't ready for late September, they wouldn't announce it for then and keep it for October/November.I think a lot of people looked at pcars1 when it first came out but the game was so buggy and glitchy (at first!) that people lost interest really fast because of that. That plus the ffb issues didn't help. Even though the game been in good condition for awhile now it seem like people still talk crap about it. That's why pcars2 needs to deliver right out the gate. If it's pcars1 all over again where the game is glitchy and thing's are not working then it's gonna be the same result. But if it's a smooth release then the game will get really really popular. Regardless of what happens this game is gonna destroy the competition. If something's not working they could always fix it in a patch. But still deliver out the gate @IanBell
Another note to add is that perhaps Forza 7 will have a later release date say late October giving time for PC2 to sell some. Then bam we get wowed by forza and bam GTS comes out and then the competition can proceed for the remainder of the year.I think it will be a smoother release as I think SMS have purposefully held back on releasing the release date to prevent the public delays and ensure the game is functional on release. It is an interesting dynamic because of the multi-platform release. To me pCARS is a competitor to AC, rF2 and iR genre wise.
Against Forza or GTS is just market share.
Unfortunately, money talks so, the wrong interest "comparison" prevails. But seeing how well pC1 sold I don't see pC2 taking a step back especially when it is so much improved in all areas that's almost ridiculous.
Forza will still be Forza, GTS will remain GTS, pCARS is here to stay and kicks ass
I won't be back to console driving simulators that's for sure but that's me.
There's no reason to own all though if you fancy them.
I also have the real competitors.

@05XR8 Is the 935/80 the Moby Dick one? The article says they stopped producing full cars after 1979.
You're going to have to talk to me like a 5 year old here. I read everything you posted and I believe I'm missing something. Is there a big difference to these 2 cars like 2016 f1 to 2017 f1?This is the 935/80
I think the hp was different from what I read. The regular 935/77 I believe had 580 or 600hp. The 935/80 had 670ish hp. And small body changes blah blah... still wish the Moby dick was chosen instead. You're going to have to talk to me like a 5 year old here.
