Just had a binge on the two live streams that SMS have put out and have to say that I'm now even more impressed.

Not just with the degree of communication that they are putting out, but also the overall title itself.

Can't wait to see what next weeks will bring with the focus on esports and online, as it will make an interesting comparison with what we know of GTS so far.

Having 3 compounds to choose from for the GT3s was simply WRONG. They have corrected htis in pCARS2 as explained recently by @The_American I believe. This made the GT3s a bit faster than they should have been, becuase of the soft compound.

Also, I know that the M3 GT2 (which was the precursor of GTE) was modified in game to use the same width of tires as the GT3 cars. In other words, narrower than real life for the car, which would have slowed it down in the corners. This had the effect of "BoP ing" the car to the GT3s. I'm not sure, but I htink they took a similar appraoch to the Aston and Corvette.

All of this is correct from my memory. The soft tires brought GT3 way up in performance.

Putting the tire conversation to one side, if you caught the imsa race at road America last weekend you would have noticed the gt3's and gte's were very much equal down the straights. However into the brake zones and through the corners the gte's were clearly much faster, due to the aero, resulting in much faster lap times. I'm hoping that since the classes are now truly separate in pcars 2 this difference will be noticeable. I guess it also stands to mention that the gte's have complete freedom when it comes to tire manufacturer, even though in imsa they've all seemed to go with Michelin, as well as a difference in driving assists, gte's are not allowed abs where as gt3 are fitted with both abs and traction control.

@Scaff, are these livestreams on YouTube? I'd like to watch them.

Keep checking back for more on that channel or at Twitch in the coming weeks. A multiplayer focused stream will be next with Andy Tudor.

Will do. I just subscribed to their YouTube page.

EDIT: I'm going through the comments of the first livestream.. I honestly hope I don't run into these people on the game. Sounds like elitists..

I got a question for you guys that use shifters. Do y'all use the shifter for cars like LMP and GT cars or you just use the clicks on the wheel with those cars? I'm talking about project cars in general or even assetto Corsa. I know it's off topic but I didn't know where to post this.

With both I use whatever the actual car would have.

From memory if you set up AC with h pattern on and auto clutch off it forces the use of the correct shifter. Similar with PCars.

The only 'odd' one would be those with a sequential shifter, I use the paddles on the wheel for those.

You will always lead a much better and happier life the second you pretend that YouTube doesn't have a comment function.

Thanks. I guess I'll just use whatever the vehicles actually have. Using a shifter with a LMP just doesn't feel right lol.

Use whatever the car actually has. I wish I could do a sequential style with the G29 but not possible. Just remember to assign a button to change auto clutch on and off or remember to go to the options before a race. Flappy paddles turn on auto clutch so you don't need the third pedal

The way I manage to use sequential shift on pCARS 1 with the G29 is assigning 4th & 3rd gear to shift up & down and use elastic bands to return the shifter back to the centre. That is probably the easiest method but there are other methods out there too.

Good idea with the rubber bands. I set it up like that when I first got it but was always forgetting to reset it to neutral between shifts. How did you set up the rubber bands?

I wasn't the best with setting them up. I used about 6 bands in total so it was a bit messy tbh. It always returned to neutral tho which is what counts.

I just quickly mocked up one that I had in my room and it works for 4th/shift up and returning but sometimes it bounces too far and into 3rd/shift down. I guess that's what the added bands will help with, keeping it wanting to return to neutral from all directions.

I remember that hack on the g27 and worked like a charm. Quick and easy.

I've since have upgraded so to the Fanatec and there's an option there to map the sequential mode to the paddles so not even need to assign different "keys" :D

Now I have to find a way to quickly switch it to the left hand side so I can use right hand cars...

BTW, does anyone else maps the gearbox properly (1st where 2nd should be and so on and so forth)? In VR especially because you can see where the gear lever is it can be very misleading because you see 3rd where 4th should be but in reality it's not and immersion can trick the memory muscle.

It's also more fun to just do it right :D

Has anyone seen on YouTube or anywhere the in game liveries for the Ferrari 488 GTE. Am desperate to know which ones are included in game. (Crossing fingers for this years WEC Clearwater Racing.....)

From @123Racer's post in the screen shot thread.

I hope this gets expanded.

Yeh me to. The fact that there is a plain white livery makes me think that they haven't finished adding all of them yet. Also the fact that it has THIS SEASONS livery from the WEC AF Corse cars is great!! May just yet get the Clearwater car

Honestly, I wish there would be simple single colored "liveries" for all cars, including race cars. I don't like all the noise most times and usually an all-around white color shows off the beauty of the cars themselves better in my opinion

Fair enough! I tend to prefer driving racing cars with real life designs that i have seen race. But yes good point.
