Ian,
i see PSI informations. is Bar unit will be possible ? because 1 bar = 14,51 psi...conversion is boring.

i love counter on right (acceleration, brake).

Hey, new guy here  with a quick question. I am wondering if there is a way to hide or at least make the steering wheel static on the PS4 version of PCars? I am pretty interested in getting the game but if I can't get cockpit view without the steering graphics (like in ACorsa) that might be a deal breaker for me.

Thanks for any help/input:bowdown:

It was possible to hide the steering wheel in Project cars 1. Hopefully in the new game also.

@IanBell I was a member of WMD with Pcars 1. I was unfortunately not in a position to join 2 so I wondered how things are going.

I know you can make a good game. :)

Also I am looking forward to this one. Pcars 1 was good so I hope this is even better.

And here I was thinking that PCARS1 was the best racing game ever made, in my opinion of course, but it seems I was wrong after what I'm seeing and hearing about PCARS2.

Looks like I might improve on my 1800 hours on PCARS1!

GameSpot put up an interview with Andy Tudor and Stephen Viljoen.

The developers and I joked that with all the painstaking work going into replicating true-to-life dynamic environments, most people wouldn't even be able to appreciate the subtleties unless they implemented a low performance racing mode with cars that couldn't break the speed limit so easily. "Funny you should say something like that," Tudor remarks. "We can't talk about it just yet."
What could this mean? :) Joining in on the Reliant Robin meme? Morris Minis? Kei cars?

After spending a considerable chunk of my PCARS1 career driving prototypes or GT3s, I'm getting bored of grip and downforce, even after going into PCARS1 with an open mind for those kinds of cars. Again, I'm pleased that PCARS covers a variety of vehicles, because a lower level of performance is more engaging to me. Dinky sub-100hp cars would be a hoot, especially door-to-door on a rallycross circuit!

Regarding the original simulations, Viljoen admitted: "There were areas that we knew needed improvement, and one of them was when you push the car beyond the limit. When you go over the edge, the way the slip curve of the tyre works made it a bit difficult for people to catch the car when it goes sideways. In Project Cars 2 we've added additional types of grip simulations, where we accurately simulate how it affects the handling of the car when the tire is moving across the track surface when it's not rolling. [Also] how the tarmac is ripping the tire itself, which effects, in a big way, that aspect of driving. So we got a full simulation of that implemented, and part of the fallout of that is that our cars are now far more controllable when they go over the limit: we have a far more progressive slip curve which determines how handleable you still are on the car when it is sideways."
Great to see some details about how they specifically improved oversteer simulation. 👍

My first guess was Motegi but it doesn't seem to match.
I don't know but got some images I screenshotted and outputted to Paint for 2 circuits. Might help.

Ian,
1 - Can we change HUD elements, in race ?
2 - can we add any others elements ?
3 - on screen down left corner, in race, could you tell wether the rectangle color corresponds to car category ?

I think the first one is hell, it matches where the trucks are in the next clip and that still seems to match with the finish line (on the track not in the starting area).

The second one looks like it has an oval in the background which is why I'm thinking Motegi, that would only match if they're running the wrong way around the track though.

The car behind the Aston Martin looks like the Ford GT LM.
They already got the road car so it would make sense.

He's onto something. Looks very low. I initially thought it was a Ginetta. And would make much more sense if it was a GTE car model race.

I have to say, the audio is much improved. It's 100% cleaner than PC1, and bad shifting sounds are finally gone.
Agreed. Sounds much more clean and throaty which is what I perceive that car to sound like.

Out of curiosity, is Sampala a placeholder name for the Mercedes Swedish Ice Track?

@jake2013guy At 0:44 in the trailer, where you see a small bit of the Accura NSX racing against the BAC Mono, I believe that track is Sugo.

Take a look at this video and tell me if it doesn't look similiar (I pointed you the frame that you need to watch).

Yes. It looks a lot like it. Around 3:30 to me.

Insane, amazing!! Really thanks forum this.
I hope my standard ps4 will be able to handle It the right way.

I hope there is a Mini. I love the Escort and 2002 Turbo(hope we get a tii or NA option), they are so lonely without an Alfa, 510 and Mini to have a proper Trans Am class. ;)

Don't get me started on kei cars and such. A nice Super Taikyu ST-5 contingent, would be the perfect addition.

The track where the BAC and NSX are racing is Sugo:

Look familiar? (note the sign for turn 13)

As for the car behind the Vantage GTE, I've been wondering myself about what it is. I would agree on the Ford GT GTE, except it does look like the bumper has extra lights and the rear wing looks narrower than the body, at least for me.
