I've also got a problem in GT3 with really bad vibrations. There are 4 cars right now that have huge vibrations from race start, Nissan GTR, McLaren 650, Aston Martin, and BMW M6. The Nissan is totally undriveable. But you can take those cars to testing and there is no vibrations at all. Have you tried that?

Tonight I drove the Ferrari 488 GT3 at Bathurst. First I tested it there and it was very smooth. In the race towards the end of Mountain Straight it was like it hit several deep potholes and that was on the opening lap and each lap after that.

GT3 is the only class I've got this problem with.
I was actually in the M6 when I encountered it and others that had the same issue were in the McLaren. The tires as far as wear and operating range are extremely odd to begin with in GT3. The vibrations just add to that. It does make the cars practically undriveable when the vibration starts even though there is still plenty of grip from the tires. Hopefully it will be toned down in a patch.

Of the four I've only used the GTR GT3 and had no issues with it from the race start at all, used it quite a bit on-line with no issues.

Odd that you have found it from the race start, what FFB set-up are you using?

I did 24 Minutes of Le Mans with the Nissan R89C LM yesterday night. It was great fun!

I'm also using "Real time" for most of the races. It makes the races feel more life like. Did a race at Nurburgring the other night & set the time to 22:00 in Autumn with Medium Clouds. Which was accurate to how it was where I live and example of me using Real time. One feature other games don't have.

Guys i think SMS is gonna have to remove the GTR from my game :( There are so many other wonderful cars that i wanna try :) But i'm just to addicted to my GTR :embarrassed:
Same with the (you guessed it) Megane TCR. I try one or two different cars and I'm right back in the #65 or #56. Sometimes I don't make it one lap. I quit and select the Renault.

Same for me. I keep driving Ferrari 488 all the time. It just so good on all the levels. Reminds me of how much I liked the BMW Z4 GT3 in pCARS 1. I’ll try some other cars...eventually :) I mean I did a few community events and some career races in ginetta junior, but time wise those are just a fraction.

The 962C started violently shaking my wheel wheel down any straight at Le Mans. Had to turn the FX setting down to about 25 to stop it happening.

Does anyone else get this feeling?

Whenever i accelerate with the GTR i get this G force feeling of my body being push back :D

I'm a controller user and i sit pretty close to my TV which is a 40" TV

But this G force feeling is something i have never experienced in any other racing game.

Raw
Gain 50
Volume 45
Tone 65
FX 75
Menu 0.25

When doing a time trial, is there any way of seeing the times for the actual car you’re using instead of the world records for all cars on any given track ? Or am I missing something?

Supposedly Sony/Microsoft told SMS they couldn't allow any more storage for additional leaderboards. Maybe a misunderstanding somewhere, but that was the answer given.

Ahh ok, that’s a bit ****.. cheers for the info anyway

Hi,

when doing timetrails, I can load, edit and save setups from the ghosts/leaderboard or create and save my own setups from scratch.

But when I go back to careermode (same car!), I can't load them. Do I really have to write down the settings from the timetrail and re-edit them in career-mode?

D.

Hmm i picked the Ginetta LMP3 in the career mode. And i just can't get comfortable with that car.
The only bug is the one holding the steering wheel.

I am experiencing that the speed of the rotation is picking up during the corner. Entry is neutral, coming of the brakes and gently on the throttle is ok, microscopic understeer. Then at constant light throttle the grip builds up at the front again and it starts darting into the apex. It feels like the grip just massive increases just around the apex. This had two results a) i counter and induce understeer, and the exit ous messed up or i oversteer the apex, get a penalty and a bad exit.

Any suggestions on how to build up the trust in this car? Or is there something special abbot driving it that I'm just not understanding?

To counter the mid corner/ exit oversteer i have
Decreased the rear arb to 10n/mm
Reduced rear suspension to 210 n/mm
Reduced rear slow rebound to 26k n/mm
And set the power diff to 45 deg

But i just can't get the feel for what's happening ...

Any advice and experiences is gladly received :gtpflag:

GO try the Lambo Huracan road car if you havnt already. It may just be my favorite road car... may... anyway, after I was gracefully hooning around hockenheim with my lambo set at 100% rear wheel drive (also try this on other awd cars), I remembered an episode of either top gear or grand tour where richard hammond was testing the huracan and he said that it didnt feel like a supercar in the traditional sense, but more of a very fast sports car. I have to give credit where credit is due, nice job SMS because that is exactly what I was thinking! This car is so tail happy when you want it to be, and catch-able when it lets go. Good job guys and gals.

Edit: Tried all of the C class cars at hockenheim national and they were all beaten by the Jaguar F Type SVR...:odd:

I've always used this runoff area when racing at Oulton Park. After seeing this I looked at a bunch of YouTube video of actual races there. Racers commonly put their left side tires on the curbing, but rarely over. Seems this warning/penalty is accurate. I'll have to adjust accordingly.

Increase power diff angle greater than 45. Try maybe 75 for example. This should reduce power-on oversteer

Will that fix the problem of the car's rear end just gently rotating around into a low speed spin on a relatively slow tight corner? Because I'm not back on the throttle yet but the car's rear end swings around anyway.

That would be your Coast setting. Usually it's at 40. It goes up to 500 so I start with a rough increase to 100 and if that's creating too much understeer I'll back off to 80 which is double the original.

Wow this is great :) I always have Stability Control on cause of the GTR always spinning out at low speed in corners

Thank You for this info @DesertPenguin09 :D I can now Turn off SC

Is the uncontrollable oversteer really just a setup issue? It feels to me like a fundamental issue with the physics as lots of cars have a crazy amount of oversteer even when you're driving quite cautiously. GT games have had the same issue particularly with MR cars where the rear end would be virtually impossible to hold even at low speeds.

Which car? I'm finding the stock setups favour understeer quite a lot so am having to adjust the roll bars to give me some turn-in.

No problems here if I stick with the out of the box setups and warm up my tires. Any particular car that feels especially twitchy to you?

Renault Clio, GTR GT3, V8 supercar and Formula Ford (or Rookie, whatever it's called) are the worst I've found so far, could be others I'm forgetting. I can't push any of them without losing the rear and have to tip toe around the track.

For the Clio (and other FF touring cars like the Mégane, Astra and A45) check this thread, especially Scaffs and rono's posts (ignore the drivel), as it requires a very different driving style/technique compared to other cars. It's normal for it to snap-oversteer, especially with cold tires. Once it's warmed up it's a lovely car though, very easy to push around the track and get a fast time. 👍

Can't comment on the other cars, haven't given those a lot of track time, but I'll give 'em a go later today. 👍

It's definitely not my driving style or cold tyres and I've driven enough FF cars on quite a few sims and even IRL to know that there is something seriously wrong with the way my car is handling.

Whats everyone's favorite oval track?

Classic Monza Oval
Daytona International Speedway Oval
Knockhill Oval
Texas Motor Speedway Oval
Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oval

My would be Daytona :D

But i also love the Road Course of Texas and Daytona :)
