I have some interesting findings. I just went through all of the Road C class cars, and I have some pros and cons of each car. Everything was with ABS only unless I couldnt drive it, then I turned traction control off. All had 30kg of fuel, and Pirelli Mediums (exception GT86). At Hockenheim National. Has some really good corners and feels well balanced. Note, all AWD cars I also tried at 100% rear power to see if any more fun.

Mclaren 570 S: Loved it. Really well balanced, steering feel is very good and an appropriate weight. The oversteer is very manageable and a lot of fun to chuck around.
I was doing around 1:36-1:37

Mercedes AMG GT R: An Absolute blast! This car is meant for powersliding. I never really felt ike I personally could get a quick lap in because I could never keep it straight, but It is jsut so controllable in oversteer. I felt like a true drifter driving it. Also had pretty good steering feel and weight.
My times were 1:37-1:38, but I didnt really focus all that much with this one.

Chevy Corvette ZO6: Super disappointing. I get it has 650 horsepower, but it is just sooooo hard to drive. Ans it doesnt help that the steering is feather light compared to the other cars in the class and I couldnt feel anything through the wheel. Turned traction control on, was much faster, but stil it just feels like crap when you go from the other cars to this.
Times were ok, 1:37-1:38

McLaren F1: Ok. Dont know if it is really relevant in this class, but Ill try. Very difficult to drive. Probably as tough as the vette, but this feels much more satisfying to drive. Not much else to note.
Hard to get clean laps

Rocket Bunny GT86: Didnt like it. I feel like the wheelbase is so short this car was never meant to have this much power. Also, I dont like the Nitto Tires compared to the Pirelli Mediums.
Never completed a good lap

Acura NSX: I really wanted to hate it since I like the original and hate this car in real life, but it really was great. I thought since it is so much heavier than the other cars, and has less power that it would be a bit slower, but I was doing solid laps. Steering isnt bad, weight isnt bad, and was VERY easy to do solid clean laps.
Around 1:36. Slightly quicker than 570S imo. Probably due to how easy it is to drive.

Nissan GTR Nismo: Really disliked it. I thought I was going to love it, but I found it hard to drive fast. This was one of the few that I would completely lose control. Also, the steering is just as light as the vette, and yes I know I can raise that, but in relation to the other cars it was a bad impression.
Times were hard to get clean, but around 1:37-1:38

Aston Martin GT12: A handful. With the other cars, there is enough steering lock to save a slide, but this has such tight steering that the oversteer feels instant rather than progressive. Given it is only RWD, I found it fairly difficult.
May have to work a bit harder for a good lap time

Audi R8 v10: Great. All around great. very easy to drive, fast, and has just enough oversteer to be fun too. steering feel is great, weight is spot on, good car. Some understeer in tight corners.
High 1:36

Lamborghini Huracan: A real joy to drive. Like its cousin the R8, easy to drive, fun, and fast. However like in real life (I assume), it is just that much better than the R8. Its like 500 lbs lighter, so there isnt any understeer even though AWD, but the oversteer is also very manageable. Really fun setting rear power to 100%.
Low 1:36

CLASS D Jaguar F Type SVR: WHY IS THIS NOT IN CLASS C?!?!??? My goodness this car is amazing! I am in awe of how this thing drives, The AWD is set at 85% rather than the 95% of the audi/lambo but it really needs it. The AWD keeps it in check, but the rear power has great amounts of oversteer. Surprisingly easy to drive, and has a great feel through the wheel.
Lap Times. I was at 1:35.9. About .3 seconds than anything in the class above it.

I urge you all to try the F-type VS something in Class C to see what you guys think. Maybe its just me trying harder since Im Jaguar biased.

I'm not a fan of ovals at all. I haven't tried the Texas road course yet since it looks pretty basic but the infield course without the oval section is a lot of fun with low powered cars. I did a 15 minute race there with the Formula Ford/Lotus 51 and it was more interesting than I thought it would be. All the main turns are rights but there's a tight chicane on one side and a bus stop chicane on the other to give some nice rhythm.

It's definitely not my driving style or cold tyres and I've driven enough FF cars on quite a few sims and even IRL to know that there is something seriously wrong with the way my car is handling.
Just verifying to rule that out man, no dig intended. 👍 You might suffer from the setup bug, not sure if you're using a custom setup? Default out-of-the-box setup(s) should be good though, snap-oversteer of the car/diff are quite manageable with the stable/loose/OEM setups. Personally I'm staying away from custom setups until the bugs are squashed (including telemetry issues), don't trust 'em as they seriously bork your car.

Then again, if you're not using a custom setup it could be something else.

I've just been using default setups so far as I'm terrible at tuning usually. My friend who plays on the PC version (I have it on PS4) suggested that it might have defaulted to the loose setup, as you have the choice between loose and stable apparently on PC and not PS4, but the setup on my car matched the PC stable setup, which leads me to think its a physics issue. But I don't understand why it's not affecting everyone.

I bought this game two days ago on xbox one and so far I am loving this game! It took me quite some time to find a balanced force feedback set up for my g920 and even now some cars feel floatier than others , it's a good thing we can adjust it whithout exiting. I need to find a way to have more road feedback and force feedback without clipping too much. Either way I enjoy testing every car and hours go by so fast it's not even funny

There are some known bugs that affect the rear tire grip to make the cars undriveable. I experienced exactly what you are describing with the BMW touring car. Some say it's only a few cars that are affected and some say it has to do with the setup from a different car being loaded for the one you are driving. Until patch 2.0 comes out it will remain a mystery.

Update: I am for sure now that the f type is in the wrong class. Its over 4 seconds faster than the ZL1 Camaro and the DB11 as well as the Caterham.

Is there a reason why some tracks are only available on custom race but not private testing?

Sampala Ice Racing Circuit

is one of the tracks available on custom race but not private testing :(

I just figured out why I couldnt do the japanese road cars invitation race on snow... the controller damping is set by default at 100 on the ps4. I set it at 0 and not i can control the slide -- especially when braking. I knew it ! ... finally won that race. Damn 2 weeks wasted with the wrong settings now I have to start all over again :)

Renault Clio, GTR GT3, V8 supercar and Formula Ford (or Rookie, whatever it's called) are the worst I've found so far,
I gave all of them a few laps at Brands Hatch Indy. The Clio and the Formula Rookie show no issues on my end. The Formula R actually surprised me by how easy it is to drive and how hard you can punish it. The V8 supercar has rather sensitive brakes, kept locking up the wheels every the time. I changed the brake pressure and bias a bit and after that it was rather stable. The GTR GT3 was the only nasty bugger, especially at low speeds (high speeds less so presumably due to downforce). Very easy to get this car backwards when you least want it. Not fun to drive. Setup thing rather than a physics thing IMO.

Tried a couple of setups too: stable, loose and what the #1 at Brands Hatch Indy was using. No issues there.

Track limits are too harsh on Road America. All of my laps were invalidated in the qualifying session of the Super Trofeo series. I didn't go off the track by a huge amount, I didn't exceed the width of the ripple strip... Ended up retiring because starting at the rear is awful. The AI cause collisions and you get penalised for going off the track to avoid the crash. It's stupid. Thank goodness I won the race at Watkins Glen by a decent margin.

Does anyone know if free monthly cars will be coming back in project cars 2 like in the first one? For example a month goes by so a free downloadable car is available and continues like that monthly.

I assume your talking about turn 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9. The corners with run off after the kerb, I dissagree, completed many online races there, have not had to adjust racing lines from PCars1.

I've just about got my head around the setup saving method and now have 3 separate tunes for the 962C saved for all tracks, so now I can just easily load up the one with the gear ratios/aero I want for a particular type of track then off I go.

This is probably one of the reasons my UI is so laggy, but I will put up with it until a patch. Unless the first patch doesn't address the lag...

And on a side note, the speed the 962 AI take round the first 2 turns at Sakitto is ridiculously quick. They don't even seem to brake for turn 1 and just hack it round there. Seems unrealistic to me. Not sure about the rest of the class as I was racing identical cars.

Found a better looser setup :) the setup i was using before had this tight feel to it which i kinda didn't like much. This one has a loose feel to it and it feels great

Video lap of new setup :)

The big change was with Controller Damping which was at 65 but i brought it down to 10

Hi,

I'm in careermode, atm GT3 at Zolder with the fantastic 488.

I tried freepractice with AI at 100, where the AI-cars down to P10 set laptimes between 1:36,1 and 1:36,9

100.jpg

then I set AI to 110 and tried again, now the AI-cars set times down to P10 between 1:33,7 and 1:34,7

110.jpg

So the AIs improve their laptimes by nearly 2,5 seconds when increasing the strength from 100 to 110.

Isn't this not a bit too much?

D.

Check to see if it's a straight line across all strengths or if it increases exponentially from 100-120. It is called Alien after all

Will that fix the problem of the car's rear end just gently rotating around into a low speed spin on a relatively slow tight corner? Because I'm not back on the throttle yet but the car's rear end swings around anyway.
The only solution that fixed this problem was getting on soft slicks. On the hard slicks the problem continued also with very gentle on throttle (10-30% throttle). The front end just gained loads of grip and darted in. On softs the Ginetta lmp3 acted predictably. Perhaps there's an issue with the hard slicks?

Is the metal bull between the Schlossgold and Rindt corners at Red Bull Ring gone in real life?

Because I noticed it's not there in Project CARS 2. Am I missing something?

So I'm still spinning out mid corner, this time the Cayman GT4. I've used the race engineer, I'm not braking or accelerating in the corner, just mid way through the rear end goes away. I've even messed with the deadline settings hoping it might fix whatever input i'm doing wrong. Nope. I wish this was like DiRT 4 where you could swap handling mode between simulation and gamer. Or at least back to how it was on PC 1.
