Damn I need a PC...

I got a question for console version owners. Are the cars in your game having the backup lights flaah when shifting gears? Does your game stutter when someone joins the online race lobby during practice and qualifying. My PC1 game does this as well.

Ruapuna have some lovely standing water and water across the track.

YES, offline, I see certain cars flash the reverse lights, on downshift gear changes.

My first time driving the 011 GT3 Endurance. It's like the alignment is out. Same like with the Ruf GT3 in PC1. Any way to dial the steering in?

First impressions after about 15 minutes of gameplay: graphics and physics are definitely an improvement, cars and tracks looks great. Some of the engine sounds are a bit questionable (F50 GT???) and the AI is yet to to be proven.

Overall, it seems to be a relatively faithful representation and should be plenty of fun

Okay, I've been pretty hard on SMS the past couple weeks. But credit where credit is do... I just ran my first night race at SPA. And Oh My Goodness did these guys Totally Redeem Themselves when it comes to headlights! THANK YOU!!! I love night races and the previous game just didn't make sense when it came to headlights. No more, this game is crazy good at showing the road in front of you, and not too much more, at least at SPA. I haven't tried any other tracks at night yet, but will very soon. This one impressed me. 👍

You'd have to ask the guy following me. I can't see the back of my car from the driver's seat. :sly: As for stutter, yes. Seems much worse than the previous game actually. Instead of one big lag, we get three just as big lags. :irked:

Just played with a pad for the first time and I'd just like to give props to SMS. Nailed it. 👍

I was 'that guy' who never shut up about the first game having poor controller settings so it only seems fair I eat humble pie on this one.
I was totally one of those guys who complained about the controller niggles in the previous game...

Not sure if this will be useful to anyone here but... If you are still having corner stability, ABS or trail breaking issues (especially on consoles).. using the t3pa pedals I put back the break mod and set it reaaaally strong so that you barely reach 100% when you calibrate the pedal. It makes a world of difference especially in the "killer" corner at Algrave or at COTA.. also controller speed sensitivity at 50 seems to make much more sense than the default 0

I didn't mess with the controller speed as I assumed it referred to pad users. Does it make a difference?

Has anyone done long runs in GT3 cars? When using softs I got a big vibration that was intermittent and didn't feel like flat spots. It was a rather nasty vibration that got worse as the tires got lower but the grip wasn't dropping off a cliff or anything and lap times were consistent. I never had a vibration like that in pCars 1 even when the tires had 0 life left.

Guys I need help understanding how pit strategy works.
Custom race: I start a race with soft slick, then it rains. I pit and get wet tires from the pit strategy that I previously setup, then later on it stops raining and I need to go back to soft slick, but it just gives me wet tires again... Am I suppose to setup 2 pit strategies? As far as I can tell I can only select one pit strategy I created and once in the pits its all automatic, I cant choose anything... what am I missing.

Don't go off track then. ;)
I know, I know. But the system is inconsistent and some cases are just ridiculously tight.

Besides, on the corner after this one - on the same race and with the same car /race director - you can do what you want and won't get any penalty.

You can map a button to open some kind of in-race menu while driving and choose between different pit strategies which you already have saved or even adjust pit strategies on the fly. It also has some other options you can adjust like brake bias/fuel mixture/driving assists which can be helpful.

This can be found under Options > Controls > Edit Assignments > Game and then the button to bring the menu up is just called "Car Management" and the buttons to navigate it are "ICM Menu Up/Down/Left/Right".

yes it does make a big difference with a wheel too... it kinds of dilute the ffb a little though. So a tweak might be necessary. But it gives a more stable feeling overall because there's more degrees of rotation useable.

Has anyone with a wheel done long races to the end of tire life yet? I put mine on accelerated and when they're about 60% or almost halfway the wheel shakes violently. Anyone experience this?

It happened in PCars 1 as well.
The difference is on PCars 1 the onscreen indicator only showed the tread life.
On PCars 2 the indicator is showing the tyre life. When it gets to 50% the tread is finished and you're driving on the carcass. Hence the shaking.

That's very misleading having the indicators only able to go to 50%. As I said in my post when it starts shaking there is still grip and lap times remain consistent.

I don't know what tread depth those tyre start at. With V8 Supercars, from what I remember, the Dunlops start at about 4-5mm. When they get half way, of course, they're toast. And those cars run insane Cambers in real life( up to -10 at some circuits).

I've also got a problem in GT3 with really bad vibrations. There are 4 cars right now that have huge vibrations from race start, Nissan GTR, McLaren 650, Aston Martin, and BMW M6. The Nissan is totally undriveable. But you can take those cars to testing and there is no vibrations at all. Have you tried that?

Tonight I drove the Ferrari 488 GT3 at Bathurst. First I tested it there and it was very smooth. In the race towards the end of Mountain Straight it was like it hit several deep potholes and that was on the opening lap and each lap after that.

GT3 is the only class I've got this problem with.
