I am having the absolute hardest time being competitive with a controller online. It seems like I just get left behind by the top 3 or more no matter how hard I push. If I try and push over what I'm used to, I'll either go off track from understeer or spin at the exit of a corner. During qualifying, I am anywhere from 3-6 seconds off pole (GT3 cars, mostly). I'm fairly confident that the guys setting these times are wheel users, based on vehicle movements and spectating races.

I understand that, generally speaking, someone with a wheel and good control is going to be faster than a controller user, but what can I do to close the gap? How much of a difference does vehicle tuning make, and would I able to get by with using the race engineer? I've also been messing with my controller setting and am currently using the one found in Super GT's video.

There was a missed opportunity not putting the Porsche GT3RS and Ford GT in with the Road C cars. Those are pretty much all of the road versions of the GT3 cars. I would love a multi-class race with those two side by side for photos.

That's why Gran Turismo Sport's gonna be my online fix for the year. I never have any luck against the wheel guys.

I must admit the ATS-V GT3, is so lovely to drive, it has probably the best cockpit, and sounds pretty damn well, and if pushes hard, she is happy. As Emptybox says: "Being that one guy who is driving the ATS-V.R in an online race. She may not have the pace, but she's beautiful and you all should accept her for who she is. "

If you want some results, go with the Ferrari. Fast and easy to drive. Put down braking pressure and add a little brake to the front. Also, a bit more of LSD preload always help on those downshifting braking situations.

I still don´t know how to rank each one of the GT3 cars, but stay away from the SLS, it´s almost a GT4 car of how bad it is compared to the newer cars.

I want to love the Ferrari, and it's not a driving handling thing. It's that stupid foam pad covering the A-Pillar roll cage bar. No other cars have it and it blocks a lot of my view on left handers. My go-to is the Porsche 911. The GT-R should be off pace since it's an older aero package compared to the newer cars right?

Change your FOV if that helps at all.

The Nissan GTR is a pretty recent model of GT3 iirc so it shouldn't. The Z4 I would consider an older aero package along with the SLS, and I think both of those cars are still viable but ymmv.

Doesn't help. I moved back a lot to see out the driver side window but it became a bit too stretched. I noticed using Seat Backward keeps things in better proportion if you're moving a lot.

Online or Offline?
You can enable AI online!
When you set up a lobby and specify the number of drivers possible, you can then chose the number of humans of that total number! So you can setup a 16 players lobby where only 6 players are real (including yourself) and 10 are AI.

I just wanna chime in on something. You know those silly videos of people driving their cars on two wheels at a crazy angle? I'm pretty sure the physics engine in-game will allow for that.

I've had a few instances where I hit the curbs a certain way and went up on two wheels. The car held it but I don't know how to do that (how does anyone?!) so my steering input made the car turn in a tight circle on two wheels and then settled back down to all four.

I wish I recorded it but still. It happened. Point is that I think if you know how to control the steering input you can drive a car on two wheels. I want to see it happen eventually.

It's good. Improved controller handling combined with more stable setups as default when using a pad make things really manageable. I can drive known twitchy cars like the Clio Cup with it at decent speeds (not as fast as wheel obviously, but still decent).

Great news! Thanks for the info, I'll be making a purchase later this month so I can play with some guys at work :D

I must admit, the visuals of PCars2 is just fantastic. And if wondering, im the one spinning out in the CTS-V GT3

also;

I am experiencing some Micro-Stutter, @BrandonW77 i think is experiencing the same.

As a pad user I'm noticing that its hard to get throttle at 100%. I use the right stick for throttle and I'm finding myself having to ever so slightly adjust my thumb to hit the "sweet spot" and see the green throttle bar go to 100%. With PCars1 and GT this was never a problem. I could still hit 100% with the stick pushed diagonal up. Is there a setting that directly effects this that I can change?

TLDR: throttle wont hit 100% on controller when the right stick isnt perfectly pushed up.

Thanks

I've had the F40 up on 2 wheels loads of times 👍

At Long Beach Circuit, T4, i feel that if you hit the curb to hard on the inside you end up going on two wheels, although it feels a bit funky ish. Maybe its me.

I think a nice addition would be just a simple wheel/controller symbol next to each online players names in your lobby indicating whether they’re using a controller or a wheel.

I’d appreciate it; it’d just make some of the losses feel a little less disappointing if you know it was a wheel player that beat you by a decent margin :P. And be able to more accurately gauge your performance compared to the times other controller users in the lobby are managing.
