Lesser of two evils? No, if either is evil then neither would make sense.

I haven't used the Porsche test track even once. But I do love my Porsches. Especially the 911 RSR. Since the track is actually only a test track and no real life events take place there, for me that wouldn't be a reason to get the pack.

Exactly. I'm very disappointed in the track choice for the Porsche pack, but the cars more than make up for it in my book. I would definitely NOT get it for the track.

I've seen several people suggest driving the KTM X-bow or the Caterham 620 but I'm not that much on road cars, until now. I totally get the love for these two now. And I just hopped in and starting driving with no adjusting anything. I was afraid they were going to be uncontrollable but I got the hang of them very quickly. I wonder if it has anything to do with patch 6.0 because i had driven a few road cars before 6.0 and didn't like them. Might have to go back and try some of them again.

The Caterham is admittedly slidey (probably due to the engine in front) but the X-Bow is incredibly tame. X-Bow has been great since launch. People thought there might have been a grip bug with it having too much but it's just that good.

The P1 GTR side mirrors are seriously useless cant really see anything while in interior view.:(

The driver side one should be tilt down a bit.
and the left side one you can only see the cars behind you when there far behind you.

ok rant over :)

Just found an annoying issue regarding increasing weather cycles, (x60 anyway).

I wasn't even doing this kind of test as I was trying to figure out how random, random weather actually was, (turns out it's pretty random).

Anyway, it turns out that the track takes ages to get dry again after it only takes seconds to get wet, remember this is a x60 weather test.

So the settings are, 60 minute race with 60x weather cycle & 4x weather slots, 3x clear sky, 1x random, set in summer at 12:00 with timescale set off (so it stays as hot as can be).

Now if my maths are correct then x60 weather cycle should mean a change of weather every 1 minute, so after 3 minutes of racing in pure sunshine I should start to see a change in weather (random remember) as the 4th minute approaches.

I do, it goes foggy for a minute (quickly changing) before returning to sunshine again as 4x weather slots start over from the beginning, which again lasts 3 minutes. Now this time I got a thunderstorm as my 4th weather pattern, the track get saturated quickly & rightly so, that's what I've asked it do.

Here is where the issue starts, the rain has stopped, the cycle begins again. I get 3mins of sun followed by cloud. Cycle again, I get 3mins of sun followed by fog, this goes on for another 8 minutes/2 more 4x cycles before it decides to give me rain again on my 4th random weather slot.

Now the issue is it took less than 10 seconds for the track to get absolutely soaked the 1st time it rained but 16 minutes/16 dry cycles later I'm still on wet tyres because although a dry racing line has appeared, there are still puddles everywhere which gives me no incentive to pit for slicks again for the remainder of the 1hr race as I know at some random point it will/might rain again (which it did).

If this was real time it would be 1hr of thunderstorm followed by 16hrs of 40° heat (give or take the odd cloud cover) in the peak of summer.

Surly it should dry up quicker no, Am I wrong?

Sorry for the long post & still loving the game regardless of my inquiry/moan about the weather.

I am British after all

You would think it should dry in roughly the time it takes to get wet, but I suppose you would think rather a lot of things.

Just to add on to that with something I'm curious about... is it possible to make the track NOT get soaked really quickly? I haven't done a ton of long weather testing sessions, and I know the career has stupid compressed weather, but nothing that I have ever done has had it take more than about a lap to go from "bone dry" to "you will not survive on slicks."

In the first game with a supposedly more primitive weather system it seemed to be about the same, even running 24 hour races over a span of 7 or more hours(still compressed I realize, and it played havok with the time progression, you'd think that shouldn't be so complicated but there you have it) it still would be completely soaked in no more than 3-4 minutes even if the rain appears to be very light. I've been wondering if that works any better now, nothing I've seen so far has indicated it does.

Don't want to open a new thread since it's bound to be asked before. Is there some kind of AI performance adjustments going on in this game? I'm running 108% AI with 65% aggression. Depends on how dialed in I'm to the track i can usually qualify on pole by some margin. But i try to adjust my strategy to suit(fuel load, engine map, tire choice, etc) based on knowing what i assumed the race pace is going to be. Off to the races and AI just hangs on to the back of my car, despite me going about a few tenth faster than their qualifying time consistently. Checking out their fastest laps and they are going half a second faster than their qualifying pace, and not just 1 car, several of them. Kinda makes the adjustment slider pointless....

I have a question? When i'm a lap down to a slower car and i pass that car to get my lap back why do i get a blue flag telling me to let that car pass?

Not a good start to the indianapolis 30 minutes

Finished 18/25 :(

Because that's how blue flags work. The car behind is now in a 'lapping you' position, so the blue flag comes out. Yes, in an ideal world it would know that you just overtook them cleanly, but if you passed them because they made a mistake then the blue flag would apply legitimately. It's simply a quirk of the 'rules' the game will use to display the blue flag.

Blue flags, like all flags in PC, are broken. I’ve gotten blue flags for passing cars on lap one of a race. I’ve yet to see a yellow flag used correctly or sensibly.

I agree with the flags being underwhelming. Before release when I heard about code 60 being implemented instead of safety car I was a little disappointed yet satisfied with the decision. However after release I realized seven the code 60s are barely used or plain absent

Really struggling with grip at Les Combes in various machinery, it just feels like every car wants to spin as I turn in  I've even slowed down well before the corner & rolled into it (on & off throttle) as to determine whether it's how I approach it ie: being to hard on the brakes or coming off to late. No matter what approach I take it just feels like my car goes all floaty in that section, the rest of the lap everything is fine & planted. Any help appreciated fellas

Edit: I think it's my line, I think I go to tight on entry to try & carry speed into the left hander & there must be something unsettling the car (curb or small bump). I've been studying a few youtube videos & alot of drivers actually avoid the curb on entry & look alot smoother in doing so. Ah well, Back to the race track I go :)
