I almost did too, but instead decided to just get my fill with the base game and then eventually moved back to PC2! So would you say ACC on PS5 isn't worth getting the DLC for?
It is obvious actually, if you ready to race GT3 cars non stop, take the ACC. Hardcore or not, it is a question of a time spent, the general limit of ACC is one certain chapionship and on PS5 you will get only this. Worth to mention there is GT4 and may be will be GT2, but real focus is still on GT3.

It is an amazing simulator to have fun with.

Eh I really enjoyed my time with it and do occasionally jump on for a race or two, but it never manages to hold my attention for too long. It does GT3 incredibly well, probably the best I've played overall, but I just love the variety in cars and tracks that PC2 gives me. I'm just glad we have these options available on console!

Personally struggle with it too, in matters of being too slow to play online, so it is quite a drag usually. I don't have a wheel, and talent to fully enjoy competitive gameplay there. What is really holding, this is the first game wich has really good driving bots, optimal track limits, dope sound design and also very addictive driver rating system and new cars. Historic stuff is nice, but sometime just love to spend a day in hi tech aerodynamic monsters, as current generation of GT3 cars is.

Agree with you that for console PC2 still is the king, there is no better game.
Wanted to add, that unlike ACC, PC2 feels like really a game sometime, you can always just have Need For Speed fun there, on historic and ptp tracks, riding couple of supercars, or a race at snow mentioned by Mr. Grumpy, but ACC constantly reminds you about how serious simulator it is, it has that realistic pace of gameplay, that you feel yourself on a race track in GTWC and nowhere else, no matter what you trying to do. Grounded to bones.

I'm also a console and controller peasant for the most part, but you're bang on about the sound in ACC, it might actually be my favourite thing about it. Talking about PC2, we're quite similar in opinion actually, and deep down I think I'm just more drawn towards that type of game, although PC3 took it way too far taking out the pits and tyre wear etc. There's a time and a place for serious simulation whereas with PC2 I can load up a random track/car and have a blast. I also love GT7 for the same reason, despite it's obvious flaws.

My thoughts on PC2 and the delisting, but mainly on PC2.

That was a nice video @Scaff, a fitting send off for a very important sim indeed.

I'm going to post an old video of mine because they both got a mention in your video, in fact it was the first video I ever recorded for this game.

ACC is it much better shape than it was when we first got it, at least on the PS5 it is. It is fantastic racing it'll normally do the British GT series so I can have both GT3 and GT4 for variety. Obviously, it doesn't come close to the PC version but it is very, very good.

PC2 is also amazing and incredibly deep for a console racer that's years old.

But, they both lack an element that I've been looking for in racing games since I've started this hobby and have yet to find it. Actually, I have found it in gt7 but zz7 cannot hold a candle to either of these games. That is only my opinion. I'm not looking to start a debate.

Anyway, the thing I'm looking for that neither these two games have is the AI make a mistakes on their own during the race, outside of just a dust up on turn one of lap one.

Have fun drivers are considered the best in the world and if you're not Hamilton or Verstappen, you make unprovoked mistakes.

When someone incorporates this into a console racer, I will consider that we have finally arrived. Holding my breath.

Actually, I should say that I've heard that F1 2022 does have ai drivers making mistakes.

I still haven't downloaded this on the Series X. I need to do it quickly. Once it's delisted do all of the DLC packs go away as well?

I would not be surprised that the keys you pick up for 5-10 EUR right now will be worth quite a bit more once it's delisted. E.g. see what happened with Blur. At current prices it's an absolute no-brainer to get it while you can.

Sad to see it go out like this, but it has had a very good run I would say, it's really the pinnacle of what SMS produced over the years.

It will all be unavailable to buy new, including DLC, but as long as you've already bought them, you'll still be able to download them for the foreseeable future.
I can still download and play Blur on Steam, which has been delisted for almost ten years now. :)

It is the last physical disc I bought back when it came out. But I keep putting off installing it to the Series X. I will do it this weekend.

As I say if you've already purchased it, there is no rush. Just make sure you buy it. I made that mistake with the Driveclub DLC when they delisted it, didn't buy it in time and so can never access it, but everyone who did buy it still have it.

Good to know that my videos comments are filling up with 'but PC2 is broken and unplayable for (insert reason)...' comments already, good to know that some things never change.

I bought PC3 at launch having not played the previous games, traded it in after a few weeks.
Missing the British tracks like Knockhill and Snetterton when playing GT7, so bought a used copy of PC2 last night (hope it goes on sale on the PS Store as I'm lazy and prefer digital).
Hopefully it will be alright on controller.
Had a look at the DLC car packs (thank god that hasn't come to GT7 yet) - think the Ferrari one will be a must before it disappears.

The Porsche pack and the Le Mans DLC's are also essential in my view, vintage (1971) Le Mans is done superbly (as are all of PC2's vintage tracks), and the Porsche pack gets the Porsche Leipzig test track, which unlike Fiorano you can use with any car make (Fiorano can only be driven using Ferrari's) and both come with a great selection of cars.

I may as well just get the season pass.

Maybe heresy but never been the biggest Porsche fan so could leave those - Ferrari is another matter. Must have the F40, F355 and Berlinetta.

That's OK, I'm pretty much the other way around, far more love for Stuttgart than the over-priced redheads ;)

I wish they would the complete edition of PC1 on the PS Store. Iave been looking it on eBay and I think some of listings are not accurate because I want to get all of the DLC

I've just treated myself to a shiny new PS5 and very nice it is too. Now despite all these AAA graphically splendid super duper PS5 titles the first game I installed on it was... PC2. It says something for its longevity.

I must say it runs very nicely too, smooth even with more cars on track, and the AI seem better behaved as well. Broken and unplayable, hmm!

The second game I installed was actually PC3 which also benefits similarly from the extra oomph. It's AI @slthree often come together and have off track moments. I'm not sure if it's programmed, it seems random, but it does make it more interesting.

Funnily enough I think PC3 actually performs slightly worse on PS5 than PC2 does, at least graphically speaking, even in resolution mode. I'm not sure why this is, but it's just my personal experience with both games!

I could not be happier for you that you've landed a PS5. I mean that sincerely. You and @Sick Cylinder helped foster my love for racing when I was new to it.

Were it not for you guys I likely would have quit on PC2 altogether. Instead, I'm still playing it and loving it. We are in 2022 and it still stands as the deepest, most feature filled racer on console.

Just yesterday, I did a 31 car, multi class race at vintage LeMan. Clear, Rain, Clear. It was fantastic! I started 8th of 9 in my group (GTE) and finished 7th. Could have challenged for top 5 but I had 28 front end damage (thank you rain) and lost nearly 20mph on the long straight.

So, you are saying I'm PC2 the AI do make mistakes? Do they go off track? Do they collide? Do they outbrake themselves and lose control? If so, I will re download it

Yeah, weirdly they both upgraded and downgraded the graphics at the same time. It's definitely runs smoother now on the PS5 though which helps a lot.

Not in PC2 so much, they are a bit predictable. But if that's a typo and you meant PC3 then yes they most certainly seem to do those things you mentioned, more so in some car & track combinations than others.
I usually start at the back and try to make my way forward at least a few spaces and I often pass some AI who've had an incident. Low aggression and high skill is usually the way to go for a good race.
