ELMS is back on Red Bull Ring on July 23rd.
It would be great when SMS will be here too, with some sim racing seats :)

I'm sorry but to me it's a boring track. Just a bunch of straights, an "ess" section and two right handers. The old version looked a lot more interesting.
I agree in some ways,i rarely play it in AC, i can think of other tracks i would prefer but inevitable really with SMS partnership with RB its going to be in there.
I need to try it r3e as imo probably more similar to pcars 2.

What about a destruction derby game?
-We know Pcars has amazing damage physics but SMS is bound by manufacturers rules...
-It would make full use of livetrack 3.0
-There could be MASSIVE crashes
-It's kind of a race game

I only played DD2 but I'm sure there was an actual race mode in that as well. Would be a shame to do away with it as it was a lot of fun, but more Destruction would go down very well.

Osterreichring was glorious, even the chicane with the high kerbs at the end of the start/finish straight is fun. You can drive it in Automobilista:

Didn't they do changes to the RB ring now so it would have the longer section after turn 1 again?

Will we be able to have a soaking wet track without it actually raining?, sun on a wet road looks great...

Yes. This is something I pushed hard for. It's not as simple as you might imagine. Historically we've always tended to balance the additional overhead of rain, which brings additional particle overhead and for us, detailed reflections, by fogging things out in the distance allowing us to cull detail earlier and/or drop detail via more aggressive lodding. With a fully wet track and sun though (assuming the clouds have rolled away) we don't have those tricks available so it's a long hard slog on optimisation.

Hello @IanBell I know you already answered me on the wet track and not raining thing, thanks, the British touring cars were on tv over the weekend and had just this scenario and I think it looked great..wet track and not raining with the sun coming out etc..
A few screengrabs.

Yes, it is still under construction as far as I know. It might make it a little more interesting. There was talk that the WEC could go there too. To me Red Bull Ring is a dull circuit in a gorgeous location.
YOU WOT? I completed disagree. I think it's one of the best tracks around, I love it as much as Bathurst, if not more...

I have to agree with @Scuderia Paul here, it's particularly boring. All that track has become is a disfigured square with a token twisty bit in the last 1/3rd of the circuit. I find it more of a chore to drive than a joy, but maybe since this game will be the most realistic version (physics and weather) I will have driven it, my mind can be changed. We shall see.

I'll drive it once to at least get an informed opinion but the track layout is still the same so it can only excite me for so long. Again, if they get the older versions of tracks then I'd try that.

Random question about Project Cars 1. When changing the seat position (forward/backward/up/down/angle up/angle down), does each car remember the settings for itself uniquely or does it reset every time I get in a different car?
