Pretend race cars review:

Edit: I think this is the best review I've seen so far. I think it's fair and balanced and also covers a lot more of what racing fans actually want to know. I know some people say it could be biased, but I think it's actually fair. I think a lot of other stuff they post goes off the deep end but SMS money may have made these guys actually stop clowning around and write a serious piece. Whatever it is, I highly recommend reading it.
What I understood from it all is that it is going to show up, but probably a few weeks late.Fair and Balanced are not words one would normally associate with that site.... But for once they are valid. Good write up.
A bit disappoi ted to read that the online league scoring portion didn't make it in after all. Was really looking forward to a lot less work
Hope it still shows up at some point soon.
Yes like 7-8 hours i guess if it unlocks online. Is also a good advice for Season Pass content if you are on XBOX - switch your Xbox to Australia the evening before DLC drops Midnight and find the DLC under your install section for the gameOne of my friends is from New Zeland. Does that mean he will have the game a day earlier than most people?

Hey Ian -
Pretend Race Cars review mentions the PC version shipping with a Pro Default Setup. Will we be getting that on console and if not why?

I assume he is referring to the "loose" setup which will be the default loaded for wheel users. This was mentioned in a few posts already as well as a few videos. "Stable" is the understeery default for pad users, while "Loose" is the default for wheels.

Personal way of referring to them? Who knows. If that's the case why the change in name I wonder?

All correct, but your controller will dictate which one is loaded "by default".AFAIK both setups are available with all control types, just the defaults are different. So the different names are there to separate the two. That seems like such an obvious answer however that I'm not sure I understood your question.

By the way, I know some around here like to throw a site like IGN under bus with respect to their perceived naivety when it comes to racing/sim games and I am not going to debate that here. However, I just want to mention that in all the years I've been reading reviews over at IGN I am not sure I have ever seen anyone besides Luke Reilly reviewing one of these games. I could be wrong somewhere along the line, but invariably when it is a racing review I know his name is going to be listed as the reviewer.
In short: he is reviewing for everybody, but I still trust the guy as he appears to honestly be one of us.
He loved Dirt Rally 4
Perfect!! What an improvement over PCARS1. Roadcars really ought to be set up to OEM spec out of the box.Road cars also have a OEM setup to choose. So Tight (Gamepad), Loose (Wheel) for all cars, as well as OEM (Manufacturer Spec) for road cars.
Here's the quote from PRC - “…the PC version of Project CARS 2 has actually shipped with Pro default setups that cut into the corners like crazy and rotate extremely well through the center, essentially tailoring the PC version specifically for the hardcore sim racing crowd who don’t need an understeering car out of the box, as they’re not playing on a gamepad.”
My original question was why was this setup not included in the console?
He is wrong. It is included on console.

I think if people will complain about this, they are just being unreasonable. I think this is excellent, considering improvements made and hardware being the same. DF guys made it seem like the game is running about the same as pCARS 1, but I think it's actually running better. Maybe not by a lot, but still better overall and Day 1 as well.Nice PS4 Pro fps performance (constant 60fps).
Adaptive resolution (1360p~1440p) for the PS4 Pro.
PS4 can drop to 45, 50fps in awful conditions - no surprise here, I guess. And not bad either, considering physics and control inputs remain unchanged.
Adaptive resolution (864p~1080p) for the regular PS4 as well is a surprise.
A bit of screen tearing on both versions, due to (also) variable v-sync.
Definitely.I think if people will complain about this, they are just being unreasonable. I think this is excellent, considering improvements made and hardware being the same.
