After watching so many videos there are 2, admittedly minor, things which are irritating me a bit.

Am I the only one that has an issue with the sound of tyres when starting to slide during cornering and also when locking up? It just doesn't sound right to me.

Having watched the developer car and track stream, I noticed on the Lamborghini Aventador and Sesto Elemento that the tyres have coloured Pirelli logos on the side wall. Surely only race cars have that right? To me that looks incorrect and cheap.

See, minor issues.

Yep not convincing at all. Just sounds like a sample rather than something analogues to grip.

Sounds like a deep tone of a record scratching?

I don't know about the tyre thing. I guess with the worth of those cars, maybe coloured tyres are optional.

It does 0-60 in 3 seconds, looks like wet or winter tyres. The more i see these snow videos the more convinced i am that it's simcade at least in snow conditions.

All Wheel Drive, Winter Tires and a mere dusting of snow, not to mention probably every assist the car has available turned on. I drive in these condtions 5 months of the year. I fail to see the problem.

Look closely at track conditions. All track details are still clearly visible through that layer of snow. That tells me it is less than 1 cm of snow. In those condtions with proper winter tires (as used here) this car would have 0 issues.

Not sure why everyone thinks snow means immediate horrible driving conditions. This car has (from factory) everything it needs to make it an excellent winter car. AWD, ABS, TCS, and SCS are all available on this car in real life.

On top of that, there was a video released that showed various drivetrains in the snow without assists. This is the difficulty = realism people are probably expecting:

No because the acceleration from standing is the same as irl. That snow has 0 effect on the 0-60 performance check the Nissan. So that's not really what i would expect tbh.

That's actually a very good video. Pretty accurate to what I deal with from November to April every year (although the Porsche was a bit overdone).

What a lot of people who don't regularly experience winter driving don't realize is that snow itself isn't that slippery. It's the slush and packed snow that causes the issues. Fresh snow is easy to drive in. Once it's been driven over by multiple cars and a hard packed groove gets worn in, or the snow starts melting and turns into a soupy slushy mess, that's when life gets interesting.

And proper winter tires make a HUGE difference in how a car handles those conditions.

And here's proof that it's not THAT difficult to drive in winter with a high powered car.......

Bill MacEachern drives his 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo (the 930 model nicknamed the Widowmaker) all year round, even in Canadian winters. That's an Ontario plate on his car, not a BC plate, so he sees the worst kind of snow...... wet stuff that packs real quick.

The replay cameras again
Nice livery as well. I just can't wait to get into the game. Love the attitude of the car. SMS do it best, man, they just know.

But that's what the pros are saying about driving in the snow:

Snow tyres. We have two ice racing professionals on the books advising in this area and with the right tyres the acceleration is almost the same. Things like 4WD also make a huge difference. You lose much more in the turns though.

I like how it's changed from just a bit slower than dry to 'zero effect' :) We're over a second slower than the dry figures (we counted). Anyway, yes, with snow tyres the longitudinal grip from a four wheel drive car on snow is close. You lose a lot more on lateral which shows on the cornering speeds.

Do you just wilfully ignore what has been explained to you? Two ice racing professionals are consulted on what is correct and you don't accept that.

Ian claims it's a second difference. You can time the standing starts of those cars yourself though. Maybe it's that the cars are faster acceleration than the stated figures but for example the Aventor is stated as 2.9 0-100km. Maybe my timing is off but in the clip it reaches 94kmh in 3. The nissan (BNR32) 4.8 irl & manages 5.2 in the game.

I have nothing else to say on the matter tbh if im wrong we have an accurate sim, if i'm right well we do not.

A first for me. I'll link you guys first on a sneak preview of what I think is a wonderful video showcasing our music/audio genius and my good friend Dr Baysted.

The PCars1 OST was wonderful and to see, or more accurately to hear, it continue in the same vein is fantastic. I really dislike generic rock / pop in games. The PCars approach of an epic classic score, like Two Steps from Hell, is so much more memorable and effective.

pc2 soundtrack is amazing. Already asked internally if it will be released later for purchase/download and iirc answer is Yes. I havent bought any music in years (usually i just listen to streaming radio or spotify when working) but this pc2 collection will force me to crack open the wallet (yeah probably could get it free being in the company i know, want the CD and case etc.). I was testing about a month ago and just sat there on the menu screen waiting for the song to finish, that good.
