I do find the different reactions to the video fascinating. I watched it and thought - "this game is my worst nightmare". Others watched it and thought "Ooo there's some nice cars". Proof I suppose that SMS haven't completely misjudged the market.

I'm just desperate for a new racing game and a decent frame rate. But as a Forza fan, even I'm baffled they borrowed so much from Forza. While I don't think Forza should ever go full sim, I've been hoping they'd borrow elements from PC, so it's funny seeing it work the other way round.
However I still think they could be onto a winner borrowing elements from Forza, GT and dare I say it NFS, for us casuals. Just hope they don't get the balance wrong and end up pleasing no one.

The AI part...looks suspicious for sure. We'll see what ends up happening in the end. AI seems to have issues in many games these days and sometimes can be partly mitigated by very conservative driving, so I'm not going to judge it just yet.
Now I thought they looked quite impressive. Certainly very competitive! The fact that he kept trying to bash himself to the front wasn't helping his cause. They bashed back.

He'd bumped the settings up but prior to that in his very first race the AI level seemed to be much lower and they were well behaved. He also won easily though. I expect the level just needs adjusting to suit what you want.

Yeah, I will wait and see some other videos with better drivers. I would say it's inconclusive right now. pCARS 2 AI was pretty good in the end, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The only issue could be that cars now could be all over the place rather than similar in performance and that usually throws a big wrench into it.

Aside from the ugly HUD/UI the leaderboard does not show the LEADER of the race only shows the car front and back

Also I genuinely thought this was GRID...

Later on in the video he turns the aggression right back down again. The AI are still horrendous.

Sluightly positive video. But i see another BOMBSHELL similar to no Pit-Stops

"Car classes seemed to be broader GTA class mix GT4, GT3 and GTE cars" -> this is about custom race mode!!!! Check in 5:14 minute in video

I’ve been playing the Shift games again and, although I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay, I’m really liking the Shift-like feel SMS seems to be going for basing off the footage.

I will say this though: I understand the concerns about the simulation aspects (and lack thereof) in the game, and I think they are certainly valid.
