No, there is rarely any talk about licensing related things. The 650S GT3 has been brought up by members though, so the devs know that the car is wanted. (not by me though, I much prefer the front of the 12C over the uglyfest that is the 650)

lol fair enough

I know the 12C GT3 is in the game but is there any talk of possibly adding the 650S GT3?

I'd hope that the game will keep up with the evolutions of the cars they're featuring, as there's going to be a raft of new cars this year and next that will replace some of the cars that are currently in the game. For example...:

image.jpg

The M6 GT3 that will be replacing the Z4 over the course of this season and next...

amg-gt3-02.jpg

Sketch of the AMG GT GT3 that will be usurping the SLS GT3, also over the course of the next couple of years...

r82jpg.jpg

The new R8 LMS Ultra - the king is dead, long live the king...

Just a few examples there. I'd hope that this is exactly the kind of DLC content we'll see from SMS over their planned two year support cycle. I'd also like to see 650S GT3, preferably with a brand new model (I don't know how to put my finger on it, but the MP4 GT3 currently in the game just doesn't look quite right).

So, VW licence and car models for World Of Speed, totally not suggesting they may get ported over or anything

You stay here you little bugger... *swats a fox with a rolled up newspaper*

Jokes aside, there is no sign of a VW license for pcars, those are two entirely different games that are funded differently. Besides, I m not sure how any VW except maybe a VLN Scirocco would fit in the pcars lineup. Or wait, isnt there still a VW CC racing in the BTCC?

I'd be interested to know what lower spec series (like the clio cup) are represented at the moment. A fiesta cup, porsche cup, Lotus cup, Ginetta juniors, etc? Quite a few interesting options in the UK for series utlising the UK circuits in the game.

Please stay on topic.
This will probably not be a well accepted post by many, but I will give a truthful opinion about this game...

People who buy this game are getting ripped off, period. The people involved with the development openly admit you're buying a stripped down game due to financial restraints. That's fine, I can respect that. What I don't respect is charging people the same price say a Forza would charge for a game. This game has a FRACTION of the overall content a Forza game offers for the same price. This is a $29.99 game, tops!

Moving onto my opinion about a lot of this community....

Too many people involved with this game make excuses for everything the game is lacking. At what point do you just admit the game is just.... lacking? I know it's your "baby" and you have time invested into it, but what about being honest? Let's be honest, if you had nothing personal towards PC would you rather pay $60 for PC or Forza 6? I'm not the biggest Forza fan myself, but I do know a better bang for my buck.

Lastly, I won't even get into the fact nobody even mentions the console versions of this game. The screenshots, opinions about handling, etc are all PC related. The developers of this game could not care less about the console gamer. That is a fact.

Can you provide a WMD-internal link for that? Because I have never seen something like this on the forum.
And a game is not defined by its content. Sure, there are games with more content like GT6. I am not using this content because it's useless (I would be fine with 1-2 Mazda Mx-5).

Pcars can offer you an experince you cannot get on consoles because that's what GT/Forza lack. You have lots of options in this game and that's what makes the difference here. I would rather have 20 different cars that fit to each other (Gt3,Lmp,Clio Cup) than a milliion cars which are not related to each other.

Lol love the rebuttals you get from this community. One guy mentions stuff 90% of racing gamers don't care about and the other calls people a troll when he has no real defense for their post.

You guys know nothing about marketing and profit. I will help you out....

Video game studios/developers make their money from the more "casual" gamer, not the "hardcore" gamer. Your areas that you think PC outshines Forza are areas most people who play racing games don't care about. Racing and handling options? Really? The reason this game won't do well has everything to do with the stubbornness and arrogance of the people directly involved with it.

If you marketed this game at say $39.99 + future add-ons you would make more money in the long-term. The people who put the most money into the pocket of companies see a crap car list, barely any customization, boring liveries, and so on. Do you really think they will pay $59.99 for this game? You're too arrogant or stubborn if you do. You're marketing this game to the car nerds and PC fans. Like I said, you know nothing about business marketing. You always market to the money, not who you want to market to. You can make all the excuses you want, but only one thing matters... copies sold. You will barely make any profit back from what is already invested into the game, maybe no profit at all.

What do I know, I am just a business advisor.

Thanks Alloy for your maths, will forward this to SMS while Im writing. :) Anna, the janitors secretary was doing the calcs and we (WMD and SMS) thought, it'd be ok. :scared:

Yes, please forward it to them. I have been waiting since around 2010 to have another racing game series to turn to. They need better marketing and strategy. If this flops, they won't have a sequel. They NEED this game to do well enough and I don't see that happening.

Plenty of games out there for the casual gamer , I'm sick of games like GT and Forza , I don't give a crap about painting cars and racing every version of Mazdas and Daihatsu's around for 3 laps to unlock yet another piece of crap. This game will hopefully be everything a Motorsport enthusiast like me wants from a racing game , sure I don't expect it to be perfect but if it's good I'd be happy to invest in future projects . (And no I haven't invested in project cars)

That's fine, but that's missing the point. If you truly feel that way you wouldn't accept where PC falls short, you would push them to do better. The people involved with the game have a "we're going to do it our way and that's it" mentality. That same mentality will be their downfall. You can't just jump into the ring with the big guys and think you will knock them out. When you want to succeed against established competition you need great execution and a bit of luck. This series will be one and done like countless others.

The problem here is a lot of you just want something different and you're ignoring the flaws. Different is only good when it's done right. I can relate, I want different also. With that said, I am not blinded by that desire. This game is basically Driveclub simulated.

I call somebody who has only 12 posts in this forum - and all of them badmouthing pcars - a troll, yes. Nobody needs to defend the game against your blatant nonsense. You claim that 90% of racing gamers dont care about tracks, handling or gameplay. Thats just BS - enough said.

Pcars is a game I cannot wait for. The car list has useful cars that I will enjoy. It has a fantastic track list. Future content and support is promised. MP lobby options seem brilliant. The physics are apparently very good. It is targeting/achieving 60fps. It has a worthwhile career mode. There is no grinding for cars.

It has fewer tracks than some. It has fewer cars than some. It has no livery editor (console).

I would say it has targeted quality/usefullness over quantity. Better to have 10 things I want, than 20 I dont.

With regards to car upgrades. Im glad these arent in the game (almost caps locked ARENT then! :P) as it means the cars are more balanced for competitive racing. I spent hours upgrading and tuning on forza, its amazing fun. But I want a game for racers, not painters or tuners. And thats what Im expecting from Pcars. Not Forza. Not Gran Turismo. Not Driveclub. But an alternative. A game built for racers by racers.

I'll be on PS4. I have total faith the game will run great. At launch? Hopefully. But as Driveclub has shown, a bit of patience can result in a game with good foundations being developed post release into an outstanding game. So wether at launch or later, I am convinced that console gamers as well as PC gamers are going to end up with a fantastic racer. What more do I want for my cash? Nothing really, I think its well worth the £60 for my LE, especially to help a team with such a tiny budget to recoup money and supply post-launch support or hopefully even a sequel one day.

But opions are like assholes. We all have them and most of them stink.

Forza has part of it right and PC has part of it right. The game most people want hasn't been developed yet. Right now Forza is too casual and PC is too boring.

The perfect game would have two modes that you can choose to do as a 'campaign' circuit (PC) and street (Forza). Give me 50 circuit cars and 50 street cars. The cars and tracks fully simulated for that particular mode. Full car customization and the ability to sell cars to other players (think Auction House). It would be like PC and Forza having a child.

Not interested in that, Im getting what I want.

What you want, but not the majority. The minority won't keep this series alive, only the majority can. That's been my entire point in my posts. If SMS takes this series serious, they need to think long-term. More people play on consoles than PC's. They need to add fun.

If PC offered an alternative campaign for street cars, they would have something real good. Hardcore simulation is fun, but not fun enough. Having a wide variety of cars to race and customize is what pushes a game to the next level. One day you might feel like doing hardcore circuit, but the next day you might want to race a Stingray you just built. You get me? Variety is fun, limitations aren't. PC is full of them.

Later, my friends.
