What you want, but not the majority. The minority won't keep this series alive, only the majority can. That's been my entire point in my posts. If SMS takes this series serious, they need to think long-term. More people play on consoles than PC's. They need to add fun.

How can you say more people play on consoles? You need to focus on purely racing games to work out how many racers there are, then work out how big each audience is. No other gamers matter for your argument. Also, establishing a core fan base across 4 platforms allows a small budget to be stretched and for the series to gain coverage and interest before having a bigger budget in the future to cater to a wider audience if they choose to. Your arguments are inherently flawed.

As for your reply to yourself, I think youll find F1 games have been very succesful with their sim only approach. Saying it isnt fun enough is an opinion not a fact.

Look, pCARS just doesn't have the budget. Do you think all of us WMD members would hate to have Lambo, Porsche, and Ferrari in the game right now along with Nissan, Toyota, etc.? I don't think so. But there are two things preventing this: 1) number of people working on the game is a fraction of the GT/Forza team, 2) If you asked PD/Turn 10 to develop a game with all those cars, tracks, and customization options for 3 million euros, they would laugh in your face.

So yeah, we are not being blind or naive. We are being realistic. We can make a good simulator and put relevant race cars in pCARS. This alone differentiates us from GT/Forza. We hope it's enough. There's just no other option with this kind of a budget. SMS doesn't want to follow EA's or other publisher's direction this time around, so thats why they did the WMD model. If you want more licensed content, the amount of money required is much bigger, meaning need EA/Ubi/etc...

I hope this stops all this nonsense.

Edit: Ok, you said also charge 29.99 for the game. Hm...Again, if SMS wants to stay in business and be able to make DLC/pCARS2, with all the costs associated with developing the game and MS/Sony charging 10 bucks a copy, I don't think you could get away with that price point.

You're too arrogant or stubborn if you do. You're marketing this game to the car nerds and PC fans. Like I said, you know nothing about business marketing. You always market to the money, not who you want to market to.

The game is marketed to these people, because they are the people who are willing to buy the game. SMS want to make a Community Assisted Racing Sim. (CARS which is the game title uncoincidentally.) Telling us about knowing nothing about business marketing when you have provided little to no proof that you actually do. This is a forum when you show your opinion and that is yours.

Variety is fun, limitations aren't. PC is full of them.
Mean while on Assetto Corsa

A PC is a tool, you can make anything if you put the time and effort into it, there are few limits

I'm surprised you guys let the troll drag this thread off topic. Someone should have steered him into the general thread and away from the car list as it doesn't belong here. If you're going to feed the trolls, at least do it in the right cage:sly:. Also the fact that a couple of months ago he was a broke college student and now suddenly he's a business advisor. Graduates and is advising businesses right after graduation. I think we have the next Bill Gates on our hands. :sly:

i'd love to see a Maserati MC12 in this game. haven't raced one of those since PGR where it used to go head to head with the Enzo. actually, are there any games around now that feature this car?

ah nice, thanks. shame i don't have an xbone though. wonder if they charge silly amounts for the license like Ferrari?my wife says she saw "a blue and white car that was really low and had a trident badge" (lol) on the motorway a few weeks ago. i almost don't believe her cos those MC12's are rare. but still, be awesome to see one casually driving around.

Damn Johnny that video had me pissing my pants,🤬 brilliant. I think we should start a crowfund to buy the business student the game.

You're right, some people might not pay $59.99 for this game, but there are plenty of people that will. Furthermore I'd pay that just so you'd shut up.

Im paying £59.99 but as stated, not the place for the discussion......

So I agree, the Alfa 155 would be awesome! Such a pretty car! What about the Seat WTCC car?

The game needs a series, like R3E is doing. One 2014 WTCC and one 1995 DTM car is pointless.
Unless they make a seat leon eurocup, a step before GT4. That would work much better.

That would be great but licensing is expensive and it's just not in the cards this time around. There are several GT3 and GT4 cars as well. They also have the official Indy 500 license and we'll be getting every car on the grid if memory serves. I am hoping it includes the road course cars as well.

The Indy section is true. I am sure they will add it via a free update due to them announcing beforehand and that being a part of the Community Funding.

Hi chaps. I haven't been active here for a while, so can I ask are the OP's of this thread and the track thread been updated recently to show what cars/tracks are coming on release?

If not, is there anywhere for the general public (not WMD forum) that has this listed? I can't seem to find a full car list on the PCars website.

Cheers.

I did and I saw only racing cars in a glance. Hence why I asked the question...

Dude, naww. Look again. Renault Megane, Mercedes A45, Ford Escort RS and so on. Admittedly, there will be much less normal cars than in GT... Quality over quantity! :D

Both lists are up to date. You can see at the bottom of the OP when I last updated them.
