Now anyone can guess the question marks BUT,... but... will those question marks come with launch or later down the road. That's the important part. I already know i will be able to blaze through spa with f1 gtr. But will i be able to do it on launch day or later? That's the important part ;)

Well seeing as all the other dlc cars are not on the list as question marks, I think this means the question marks are launch content.

On the ProectCARS website it says the question marks mean "Coming Soon".
Whether that means "launch content to be revealed soon" , or "Coming soon after release" I don't know...

Based on the "Coming Soon" I will assume that they will be the "Free car every month" that they promised as compensation for the delays. It would make sense anyways.....

i just made the unfortunate mistake of reading the IGN car list article comments and my oh my, there are a lot of people writing this game off purely down to the fact there aren't currently 200 cars in it. i get what they're saying but damn, how can it turn people off so much? i think it was the track list that got me interested at first and there are a lot of tracks!

Obviously Forza/GT players that are more interested in quantity than quality. Can't be helped, I'm guessing the majority of their fans will pass on the game for that reason because they don't buy the games to get into the intricacies of racing and tuning, they just want to own a lot of stuff and drive a lot of cars. Nothing wrong with that, to be expected really.

I was probably no different myself a year or two ago. Then I bought a pc, tried Assetto Corsa, and spend days driving the same car on different tracks and finally understood first hand how much of a difference a quality driving experience makes. It's kind of funny though, people talk about customization and personalizing cars in other games, and yet I never felt any sense of ownership. In AC I get every car automatically and yet feel more intimately connected to each one than I ever did in GT. Weird eh?:sly:

Probably comments from people who's entire "virtual racing" career has been based around the GT series. It's all they are used to.

In my case the GT series was a temporary distraction from the PC sim world due to the number of active players. I am of the same mindset as you, in that it is the size of the TRACK list, and not the size of the car list that got me interested. It's the physics that have convinced me to buy it.

Either/or. I happen to know plenty of GT players who are more concerned with how many cars are in their garage than how many races they have won. I'm sure it could easily be some other <insert game name> "racing" series.

My only point was that having come from the PC Sim world over to GT, I knew what a proper racing Sim could be like. Those who have only ever raced on consoles have never really had that kind of experience, since proper racing "sims" were never really available. Even the F1 sims were very different between the PC side and the console side, mostly because the wheel peripherals were more of a novelty on the console side while they were already a necessity on the PC side (talking about 7 - 10 years ago here).

That whole "we need to 'dumb it down' for the console port" philosophy of game producers has hung around ever since. SMS is the first one really breaking out of that mold and most console only gamers aren't used to that, and probably have no idea what to expect, or what gaming goodness they are in for. I for one am looking forward to hearing from my GT League Members once they actually get their hands on Project CARS. I am sure there will be plenty of disbelief.

How much is Pcars' budget? And how much is the budget for GT6 & FM4?
That's info that people should look up before making complaints about the number of cars in Pcars.

Although I'd love to see makes such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and categories such as DTM, Super GT & WTCC in the game I think it's totally understandable not having certain cars due to cost limitations. It's actually a pretty nice car list if you take into account Pcars' small budget. If Pcars had the $80 million budget that GT5 had I'm pretty sure SMS would add more cars.
BTW, unlike PD, SMS didn't count different liveries of the same race cars as different cars. If SMS were to do that they could easily "increase" the car count to over 500 cars.

I'm not entirely sure what cars are in between Audi, BAC, and BMW. Because it's in alphabetical order, it can't be any BMWs after BAC, because there's nothing before "1M" so it has to be a completely different brand there. We still have 7 cars missing from the Audi section and none of the cars in the license announcement goes after the letter "R". My thoughts:
Audi is either R8 LMP900, R18 e-Tron or 90 IMSA GTO
Bentley is Continental GT3
BMW is V12 LMR
Mercedes is CLK-LM OR Evo VI TME
 
I reckon the question marks will come under the racing icons pack, most of the peoples guesses here make sense, and most are racing icons.......so

A1 and Lyken for the freebies
