Sadly, what you guys are skipping is that we could have had both...ovals and other stuff. They had what...three or four ovals at minimum (at least two, Daytona and Indy adding additional road courses via infield). While I'd never really bother on a normal oval (outside of top speed testing), losing any tracks is a shame. We're now down five or six tracks that were originally hyped for the game.

Did i say i'd been ripped off? I got this game very cheap thanks, DLC is cheap and i despise Ovals, pointless form of racing IMO...all i did was give some info i got off official forum from Ian.... gutted you couldn't afford that 10,000 for a diner date with Ian?

That makes zero sense. Besides I don't even know who Ian is...

Gutted that the new DLC releases the 26th - the day before I'm off to South Africa for 2 and a half weeks. Welp.

10,000 quid gets you a dinner date with Ian Bell...he owns SMS who make PCars...
Does those £10 000 include a list of bannable offenses (from the restaurant)?

Iirc Indianapolis was practically finished before it was pulled out of the game, and they also had a mostly done version of Bristol, and a really early version of Daytona. These two weren't licenced at that time, and I believe only Indy was licenced. There was talk about Daytona and possibly Bristol coming in a pack with the Fusion NASCAR, and Indy obviously coming in an Indy pack with the DW12.

So those, along with historic Spa and Monza, Spa being all but finished before it was pulled, and Monza in a decent state of development, and Solitude, which was still very early, brings the count up to six tracks that we were told by various sources, including WMD members and SMS employees themselves would be coming to the game, that we either won't be getting at all (historic tracks) or will only get online (and maybe time trial) only (ovals), and that's IF we get all of them. We might only get Indy, who knows.

Remember, if the people at SMS are saying the ovals are broken imagine what their version of broken is!!! The AI on our PCARs is still poor. I can imagine the cars on the ovals flying around with peices of cars flying everywhere. They probably can't make it a lap.

P.S. I still love the game!

Hahaha good point! I did a race against AI yesterday at Rouen in Lotus 25s, and the AI was terrible, even at 100%. The issue that was supposedly fixed in a patch where AI drivers would go wide at the hairpin and drive up the bank on the outside is quite obviously not fixed at all, as half the field drove up there and crashed into each other lol. Plenty of others came off the track at other points. In a car as gutless and easy to drive as the Lotus 25, the AI show a remarkable inability to take even the easiest of corners without crashing or driving off the track, so I'd hate to see them in an Indycar racing in a pack on an oval lol. There would be some big crashes, although with the terrible crash physics in Pcars, it'd end up looking like a joke.

I still hold out hope for classic Spa. I'm probably being foolish, but isn't there still a track pack coming next month?

I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news mate, but I asked Ian directly about Spa, Mona, and Solitude, and he gave me a definite no for Pcars 1. He first said we'd have to wait for Pcars 2, and then later said they couldn't definitely licence all three for Pcars 2, so we might not even get them all in the next game.

After going to another room and sobbing uncontrollably (you should've seen my kids faces), I'll find solace in putting Grand Prix in my blu ray player and dreaming of what could've been.

How good is that movie? (rhetorical question, it's the best).

If it makes you feel any better, Kunos have said they're working on the full 10km combined historic Monza circuit for AC, which will be out on consoles this year. It's not Spa, but it's still an epic circuit.

It originally started life as an extended version of Misty Loch from Test Drive: FRL, I wonder if any of Misty Loch remains in the finished Bannochbrae...

At least the AI can't really cut corners on an oval .

My guess is that they may have struggled to get drafting to work properly, or get the AI pack formation working correctly. They could be driving round in single file! That's purely speculation on my behalf.

Well, Solitude at least needs no license since its 100% public roads. Spa was as well back then, iirc. And historic Monza is licensed by Kunos, so its doable. But by now I know typical Ian Bell talk when I see it, the translation is: "We might do it, if we have the time and money left over".

To be perfectly honest, though: As much as I love historic racing, if they would make yet another historic pack for pcars 2, it would start to feel like same old, same old. That feeling already is present on way too many cars and tracks they keep doing over and over again.

At the very least, Spa should have never been cut, that was a massive loss. The three we got are good, but the best three are the ones we didn't end up getting.

Yeah I take everything Ian says with a grain of salt. His word's worth less to me than my 3 year old son's lol.

Edit: Just to clarify, I mean Ian's word is worth less than my son's word. I just noticed how that kinda looks like my son's not worth much to me haha :scared:

Lol i kinda agree. That's the main reason i wanted indycar so i can race online around indianapolis motor speedway. Yea i would use the indy car around a road course sometimes but not as much.

Watkins Glen and Brands Hatch (all four layouts) are Indy road courses at heart.

I'm looking forward to the new, old BMW 2002 the most.

I'm sure the Ford Falcon V8 will be great. In fact CRAP pCARS is organising an enduro in it at the end of the month.

I imagine the MX5 will be easily retuned as a full on race car. I had some great races in the MX5 racer in GT5 and 6 and I'm expecting this to be even better.

BMW 1M to join the GT4 cars?

The new Circuit will be interesting to see how it has evolved from a couple of years ago.

I have to be honest I have enjoyed every car and track that they've added to the game. That is down to the quality of the driving and racing experience.
