The Indycar feels so ridiculously fast and nimble, and the top speed is way higher than the Formula B, yet I was putting in slower lap times than the FB. Think I'm going to enjoy tuning this one up to see what it can really do. Although surely that 232mph (I think) is a little OTT for most tracks. Does it just have that much power for when they stick the oval kit on? Anyone know what kind of speeds these cars do round the road circuits?

The Indycar is less than stable round there as well. I've already seen plenty of 2-wheel action in just a couple of races. They seem to have quite a sticky rear end too...

Also I'm sure a recent game had an update to allow external sounds in car, but I can't remember which one. It's a good idea though.

Strange in that after update 9, AI cars were better behaved round RA. They were much better around turn three.

I also found driver cars were perceptively better around Rd. Am. It felt better in corners in and out.
Something to look into.:)

Yes they're definitely better round turn 3 where before you could catch them easily there, now the whole track offers more challenge, SMS did well there (or rather just dialled out the poor behaviour). I think just the general 2-wheels in the air AI moves are so unrealistic they should eliminate it at all tracks.

230 mph is about what they run at Indy with all of the aero drag basically trimmed off. So that speed isn't realistic for Road Courses. IndyCars are simplified F1 cars (less complex aero, tire grip not quite as developed, 550-700 HP).

Its Driveclub that has the option of using external car sounds in interior view.

GT6 definitely did it before Driveclub though. I think the option is a good one. Sound is certainly better in Driveclub than GT6. Either way it's something that needs to be requested for Project Cars 2 as we're not getting new features in Project Cars now.

Wasn't aware this was available in gt6. It use to be my daily game... until Pcars hit the shelves.
I don't enjoy the physics of Driveclub, but its the sound of the cars that keeps me popping the disc in every now and then.

One of those things that maybe not utterly realistic but hell in a game its got to be worth it, at least an option, outside view is sublime on PCars shame i never run that view.

Same here. From memory of the brief race I had yesterday in the NASCAR I preferred the in cockpit sound to the chase cam so there are some exceptions to the rule. The ability to assign a button to cycle through the sounds would be great. I'll certainly suggest it in the pCars 2.

Bump, since no one claimed either of these...

I just realized I have two duplicate DLC bits in my "gift" inventory. If anyone on Steam wants the Limited Edition Upgrade, and the Old vs. New Car Pack - post in this thread, and then PM me your Steam ID. First response to this thread gets them.

Free of charge.

I'm in the U.S., so if that causes any issues (I don't know how Steam works in most other countries) just beware.

Here's hoping the "M" is more Mazdas and not more Mareks. The "P" or "R" is a bit more confusing. But, be reminded that the Aston Martin GT12 had a question mark at the beginning of the A's and ended up dead last, so the actual placement of the "?" is limited to the alphabet and is not in any real order.

EDIT: Could well be the "Mercedes" AMG GT3 then?

Until proven otherwise, I think the safest bet at the moment is the Red Bull Ring people were talking about. I'd love to be surprised though with something different/crazy.

Last month the ? was before Alpine and we got Aston Martin, so Mercedes AMG GT3 is definitely a possibility.

BTW, I heard that if we combine an Aston Martin GT3 with an Aston Martin GT4 we get an Aston Martin GT12.

I gotta say, the Corvette is a big disappointment...

I felt the same thing. I drove the ATS-V first and thought it felt pretty good, but the Corvettefeels like it has no grip at all.

Haven't tried the Fusion yet, but the Indycar seems to suffer from a fair bit of understeer...

Is the Old vs New Car Pack still up for grabs? ;) Happens to be one of the few packs I haven't purchased yet.

The Corvette does feel a bit sluggish, but so does the Cadillac to a certain extent in my opinion. That doesn't mean they are slow though.

Note that I've just been using the default setup so far.

I found that compared to the lovely FR3.5 the Indycar has minimal understeer IMO, it has a very different turn-in probably due to the sway bars being set up the other way round. I thought there would be a crazy rear end but it all feels pretty stable. Will try the GT3 cars later.

I've only had a chance to test the Caddy so far, and it's probably one of the best "out of the box" cars I've found in the game so far. It handles like it's on rails! The brakes are monstrous, and mid corner and exit speeds are really nice. It's a little sluggish down long straights, but I kind of expected that. It feels a lot like the Bently, but less "boaty". Only real issue I have with it is getting some excess wheelspin exiting 3rd gear corners. Other than that, I really like it. I'll be honest, it feels like a car I could get bored with due to how stable it is.

I'm thinking about doing a 60 lap race with the indycars at sonoma national with 100% AI tomorrow. Do anybody know if that's enough laps for me and the AI to make at least one pit stop? I wanna have at least one pit stop in that race.:)
