I'm thinking about doing a 60 lap race with the indycars at sonoma national with 100% AI tomorrow. Do anybody know if that's enough laps for me and the AI to make at least one pit stop? I wanna have at least one pit stop in that race.:)

Good question. The real IndyCar race at Sonoma is 85 laps, and if I remember correctly most teams pitted at least 2-3 times. If the game mimics real-life, then you should get a pit stop within 60 laps.

So the DW12 Indycar is now my favourite open wheeler in the game, a title previously held by the Formula Renault. The grip is insane and after a bit of tuning it's now edging the Formula B for laptimes. Definitely more fun than the FB for sure.

Here's some times I just put in at free practice round Road America, couldn't believe how consistent I was and even after taking more and more downforce off the times didn't change much at all.

Great car!

Is the Old vs New Car Pack still up for grabs? ;) Happens to be one of the few packs I haven't purchased yet.

The Corvette does feel a bit sluggish, but so does the Cadillac to a certain extent in my opinion. That doesn't mean they are slow though.

Note that I've just been using the default setup so far.

I was getting gassed the other GT3 cars down Conrod Straight in the Corvette

The Aston Martin GT 12 is wonderful fun. Finished a championship and thought I would give it a quick go, ended up spending half an hour with it at Brands Hatch GP.

Video will be up tomorrow.
Yep for the past 1 and a halfi i have just been doing single races round Oulton and Brands with it...It's amazing! Since when were road cars in PCars this good? Will need to try some more out now!

I absolutly love this DLC! The only way I think it could be better is if we got a track or two with it.

Didn't have time to set up the wheel tonight, so I was just using the DS4. The C7.R feels really well planted, no sudden bits of oversteer, and not to much understeer. I really like the way the car drives. I think the exterior sound could be a bit better, but I've wanted this car in a game since it was first racing in 2013, so I'm not complaining.

The Caddy feels nice as well, although I didn't do much driving with it, after a lap or two at Sonoma once the tires heat up, it's a pretty easy car to drive.

The Dallara is boatloads of fun. The limit for it ia pretty high, so I haven't really mad to many problems with losing grip. Can't wait to rip my arms off with the wheel on this one. To bad we can't run Indy with...an Indycar...with a 100th Indy 500 sponsorship...

The Fusion is a bit weird. It's drives pretty much how I expected it to: like a tank, but it has some nice top end to it. My main things against it are: No digital display like the 2016 NASCAR stock cars, and the spoiler which seems a bit...extreme. I can assume SMS didn't take into account with the 2016 rule changes for NASCAR which is totally fine, but dat spolier doe. It's HUGE!

The Aston: DANG does this thing like to get sideways! Will have to test further, but I can't wait to slide it around some more.

Put simply, you have to buy this DLC. The Corvette makes all the right sounds and handles brilliantly, the Caddy also sounds great but the suspension is a bit soft, the Indy Car is high-speed fun and the NASCAR is a beast. Such variety, such fun and awesomeness. The Aston Martin GT12 is a real handful to drive fast and slides all over the place. It's so easy to screw up in it. Too much power, not enough grip.

Well having spent a bit of time last night with the new cars, they are awesome, the Caddy is a wonderful car, my favorite GT3 car was the BMW GT3 Z4..now its the CADDY.
Helps that i fiddled with the FFB settings yet again and think i've found a sweet spot.

Only negative the way the Vette reacts to curbs is troubling.

I enjoyed the DLC okay, but it's unfortunately another DLC of weird single-make cars and more GT3s (we have plenty). I'm happy to have the cars, but another missed opportunity to flesh out other series in the game (arguably the game's biggest failing thus far).

I take it you don't drive 'in car' view?
The Vette has made me realise just how poor in car sounds are, drive the vette in cockpit then switch to float behind view and you'll hear the sad difference..such a waste of good sound that only the ones who float behind the car can appreciate.
Try any car and bar a few the outside view is where the honey is at.
I dont care if its realistic on this one, its a part of realism i'd turn a blind eye (ear) to if it meant i could savoir the raw sounds...

I somewhat agree. Chevy and Ford both have BTCC cars, so why not bring those along... Sigh.

Anyway, started pcars to actually play for the first time in ages yesterday, reason being my favorite race car in the worrrrrrld, the C7R. I actually like the sound quite a bit, ingame it is kinda spot on, only the trackside replays are a bit weak and thats indeed a typical pcars weakness. Imho the car is lovely to drive, more alive than almost all the other GTs. Will hoon it again.

The Indycar has too much understeer for my gusto, even with high downforce settings. Other than that, its nice. Not an open wheel kinda guy myself, but it was kinda fun around Road Murrica.

The Fusion is hilarious fun for 2-3 laps until it eats its rear tires. Having a bit of a hard time to believe that the real car is that loose on the rear end, though. Both around the Glen and around Sonoma, even when tippytoeing the throttle, the car came sideways in every bloody corner. Even the 1990 Caper has a lot more grip on the rear end. Like the way it sounds though and the gauges are nice, even if not accurate for the 2016 model.

The Aston is just about the most liveliest car in the game besides the Yellowbird, it is always on the edge. Maybe it is because I only tested it around bumpy Bannochbrae, but the damn thing had trouble going straight on the straights even. One bump and whoopsie! Hello Mr. Guardrail, my do you look sexy today, lets smooch. Again, fun in a way, but a bit much.

Didnt drive the Caddy yet cause frankly, I dont care much about it.

Has to be said though, I had massive problems with my ffb on PC. An hour worth of fiddling brougt almost no improvements, classic, default, custom preset all did nothing. Just a bit of initial resistance when turning and other than that, I just felt when the rear came lose and that was about it. With the Indycar, I either understeered into the weeds or whooped the car over the inside curve because the wheel felt straight up dead in both cases. Plugged my T300 into the PS4, BÄM: Suddenly I had normal FFB again. :odd:

My buddy was having force feedback issues tonight as well - I didn't, but he did. Not sure what's going on.
Fairly certain I had that as well with the Indycar.....
Tested it, felt brilliant, then did a race in it and all it did was understeer into the wall! Felt like the steering rack had gone all wrong?!

GT6 definitely did it before Driveclub though. I think the option is a good one. Sound is certainly better in Driveclub than GT6. Either way it's something that needs to be requested for Project Cars 2 as we're not getting new features in Project Cars now.
I did ask about this in Pcars forum a couple of months back...dev said they looking to ad it as a option in pcars 2.

Great DLC pack! 👍 All the cars are lots of fun to drive. The Corvette sounds good in my opinion, especially in chase cam.

Yeah thats the point, if you dont use the 'float behind car" view then its pointless....

Haven´t done a whole lot of mileage but I bet the Formula B is faster (if shoed by Yiros). I for one still like the Renault more, it is far more challenging to drive.

If anyone is on the verge about buying this, here´s a quick review of what is undoubtedly the highlight of the bundle, the Dallara DW12. You can see all the liveries, some onboard footage so you can check how it sounds, looks and drives, and some quick setup tips I found helpful in the first hour.
