I do have to say that I have no FFB that is horrible.
I don't know if you have done the following, but...
Andy G requested before the weekend build that profiles, FFBtweakers and so on are deleted. I just deleted the entire CARS folder in My Documents for a completely fresh start, which I think isn't bad in a while.
Also he said that you have to re-calibrate your wheel and pedals in game and set the FFB and Tyre Force sliders according to your preference.

As a side note: Andy also said to leave Global Irradiance off as it is not dialed in properly yet or something along those lines. I turned it on and also switched on Reference Lighting in the F1-dev-menu. I found the tracks to be more enjoyable too the eyes to drive on, not so idiotically bright. :)
No FFB ? That's weird ?! I had some problems in builds 346/347 with lighter cars (caterhams and Racer) that had absolutely no FFB around center, and had to use one of those tweakers, but now with 351 it's better. I also deleted manually my profile and recalibrate everything like you did, and have no FFB issues (well, apart from the shaky wheel on some cars at the start of time trial, or some minor bugs). I leave the Logitech profiler on default and 100% for the 2 sliders ingame. Did you restart your PC after updating ? Sometimes it helps 👍

With the last update I can not set up my paddle shifters, it gives me this:

Turn off auto-clutch.

I was sitting here trying to remember what it was that did it lol. But ya its registering the clutch 'A' as input every time you're hitting a paddle so it detects multiple inputs; just switch it off before you go through binding your keys and when you're done turn it back on.

What exactly does the tire force setting do ?

It is the forces generated to reproduce tyre resistance that results from the contact patch rubbing against the road surface. For example, this is most pronounced when standing still and turning the steering wheel. There should be a big difference between these forces with or without powersteering.

You read wrong. I said no FFB that is horrible. In other words, my wheel does not produce horrible FFB effects. ;)

The bad news is that the game has been delayed to late 2013. Moreover, the game has been officiallyOriginally slated for a March 2013, Project CARS is now coming officially on PC, PS3, X360 and WiiU in late 2013.
 
There was indeed never a solid release date but yes, the current aim is around this time next year. It could be a bit earlier, could be a bit later, nothing is firm. But around Thanksgiving 2013 is what they've said they're currently roughly aiming at.

It's nothing to do with Nintendo either, it's just the estimate for how much work they have left to do.
 
I thought we're supposed to blame Dinkleburg.

:lol: that was a good one. i have been hearing that PCars were supposed to come out like in april for about 3 months now, its a shame it was changed, but at least now i will have enough money for god of war ascension:sly:
 
Guys, about the release date thing. Watch the following interview by ISR with Andy Tudor and go to the 14:40 minute mark.

He says the aim is Thanksgiving 2013 and I doubt this has changed since.

^ I was just about to post that, 3 months ago it was Q3-Q4 2013. In Dec 2011 when I joined WMD it was Late 2013........ nothing has changed about the release date.

This for some reason is the first Nordschlief (sp?) pCars video I've watched. And the comparisons I'm using are GT5 Obviously, real life videos and the Nurb from Shift 2 Unleashed. Compared to Shift 2, I'm LOVING what I'm seeing visually from the track. It looks like Nurb now, which it didn't in Shift 2, it just looked like a "version" of Nurb. SMS just took WAY too many liberties with parts of the track. It seems so different, that at times while playing (got Shift 2 free from Plus), I didn't even recognize where I was. Now it's all pretty spot on (there is a BUT to that which I'll get to in a minute)

And compared even to GT5 (which I think most people agree is the best video game version of Nurb....until), dare I say we now are at least close to having a new racing game version of Nurb KING. Visually....outstanding. You can see throughout pCARS that environments aren't even finalised with the best textures and what-not yet, and still, this version is tops in my book. WELL.......almost.

Here's the BUT, and it seems easily fixable. SMS is still.....even thought they are SO accurate for 95% of the track, they still seem to be taking a couple "liberties" here and there, where I know it's pretty different from GT5, and while I've never run a car on Nurb IRL obviously, I have seen side by sides with GT5 and it seems pretty damn accurate. The most noticable ithing n this pCARS version to me, is the first long straight into the high speed left just before the sandy sweeping right. I don't know the name of the section off the top of my head.
But in this pCARS version the straight itself seemed a bit off, the corner itself seems sharper and less sweeping like it's no longer a high speed left but instead a braking left, then there's a drastic elevation change into and out of that left, and the short bit of straight after the left before the right hander seems much shorter.

I think for me, if they just fixed that one section to be more accurate, the track would be 99% perfect, and I would say better than GT5's because of the pretty huge visual advantage, along with being just about as accurate.

Edit- I would also say the high speed rythm section before the carousel section seems "off" too. It's like both of these section were scaled down by like 10-20%. They both seem more narrow, shorter, with more drastic elevation changes.

Who knows though, maybe it was the triple screen along with the angle messing with my view.

It was a very confused poster, saying:

"I have project cars on PC, although it’s Beta, I do not believe that the physics will be as good as GT5, despite all GT’s shortcomings it’s still better than P Cars.. maybe it’s the online factor or maybe because P cars isn’t finished.. but GT6 will be out soon after anyway!"

Nothing to take notice of :)
 
LarryL - Do you mean at this video the section between 1'00 - 1'28 or so ?

Could you link a good reference video that clearly shows why you feel like this? I'd like to investigate 👍
