Theres not much info about the console version, mainly because in order to play it you need a dev console, so its not publicly available like the PC version is. (I know they're working on it, occasionally in the release notes there'll be 360 or PS3 specific code changes, but probably more serious focus on it won't happen until later when the whole game is more complete.)

As far as release date, I'm assuming around the same time as PC, and will most likely have the SETA tire model that was rolled out to PCs recently (but maybe not the dynamic tire carcass that PC will have, but last time I peeked in the relevant threads it looked like they were working on something promising in that regard too, probably won't know for sure until the PCs get the dynamic carcasses [probably not until the STM is more complete].)

Thanks for the reply, mate. I fell in love with this game when a buddy showed me it, can't wait till the game comes out next year :)
I do think they will eventually put out a demo for the consoles. Without a "name" attached to the title (AKA it isn't Forza or GT or a licensed game from a real racing organization), a demo would be a good way to help build up a console fan base.
However it won't be until much, much later I figure.

Went for a more stock look with the games tweakit and little inj tweak

Looking good with the all natural look. 👍

I, on other hand, am too attached to my injector.

Does anyone else find that... hm... I don't know how to explain this, but looking at every pCARS video there's that feeling that cars' movements are exaggerated, especially shifting gears. I love the subtle feel of GT5, but watching pCARS it looks and feels all over the place.

In lack of better wording I have a feeling that pCARS cars tend to "dance" a lot, a lot more than what happens in reality (GT5 hit that spot on, so did iRacing).
Which leads me to possibly the worst game I've ever played, NFS:S2U which was just awful... I don't want pCARS to have anything similar to that garbage but I'm scared since pCARS uses the same (but improved) engine, hence I'm very sceptical of this title.
Will buy if it turns out to be a proper sim, but only if they get rid of that exaggerated arcadeish feel I've explained.

EDIT:
These videos perfectly explain what I'm talking about. I guess it's connected to fpv, but still I saw cars jumping around, hopping on curbs in a unrealistic fashion.
I would LOVE the option to turn off that camera bouncy movement in FPV, it would mean a LOT to me because it just feels so arcadeish like this.

Two videos from me:

MP race at the 'Ring in the Racer L4-RS

Ariel Atom Mugen at the 'Ring with a Night/Day transition.

Have you actually played the game? The movement of the camera is the G Force effect in settings, when you hit something or accelerate / brake the camera moves.
It can be turned off its just on by default.

Oh! Thank you for that information.
No I haven't as I've said, I don't have that much confidence in SMS to become a team member.
I will buy the game if it turns out good (on GT5's level at least).

That's just my camera settings. I have helmet cam on so there is the g-force effect when shifting. I prefer it like that. I've also since changed my camera settings a bit so my world movement is ~20 (was 0).

Jav
That'll be an easy one then!! Lol! In many levels it already beats GT5, once the physics and tires are completely refined it'll flatout beat GT5 out of the water!

I'm talking about the feel.
GT5's feel just blows away everything I have tried. Love that surgical precision feel you get in GT5, I never had that with rFactor for example.

FFB is there with GT5 right now and still has a long way to go, out of all the games out there ATM iRacing and rF2 have the best FFB.

Like TheDrummingKING and bermudakid said, it's just an option ! What's great with PC sims is that you have a lot of possibilities : you'll always find the settings that suit your style. In pCars you can set :
* world movement from 0 to 100 (that's the shaky effect : 0 is very flat, i prefer 25/30)
* G-Force effect from 0 to 100 (camera moves forward/backward when braking/accelerating : default is 50)
* Shake effects on/off : simulates the movement of the head when hitting something. It's great !!

Plus a lot of other settings for speed sensitivity, FOV for every cam, and helmet options.

I'm loving the last build, the Cat classic is really great now. It's like driving a real car !!! And to think there's one more year of development ! I'm soooo happy to be a member... a friend of mine has hesitated for too long and now he's screwed until release date :D

Dude, then never try to drive a real sports or race car. Totally unsurgical and arcadeish. And your neck might not even be strong enough to keep your view perfectly upright all the time like in GT5 in 2G-corners... I know, shocking! Real life is arcadeish! :scared:

There it is again "GT5s feel".............................what feel is hat, maybe my Fanatec gt2 just doesn't work with gt5 but is fine with every other game. Gt5 has no feel what so ever it's just heavy. Project cars has loads of feel.

I use Fanatec GT3 RS, ffb on 1, drift on 3 and it feels great, ffb wise.
rFactor has bad ffb imo, too strong.
The feel I'm on about doesn't have anything to do with ffb... it's the actual precision, car awareness, bumper cam position etc.
Also, the way you can push the cars on GT5... love it.
Here's what I'm talking about (me driving):

I had driven a few sportscars , used one as my daily driver (until recently) and my neck is never all over the place.
I've been in corners at over 200km/h (Peugeot 206 RC, Toyota Celica SS-II) and my vision and head always stayed normal. 👍

I see what you mean about the precision and pushing the cars in GT5 ; it has always been one of the main caracteristics of the saga, and while it's great to drive it's not very realistic. You video shows it perfectly (great driving btw): there's no way you can drive that fast through the fast right at Hatzenbach in the real car. In GT5 you can abuse the cars without fearing too much, in pCars you'll have to drive a lot more carefully because the slightest mistake can take you out at those speeds.

I see you like bumper cam : in pCars unfortunately it's so low that it's almost useless... i usually drive with cockpit view but the bonnet cam is not bad at all 👍

Thanks for the comliments.

Regarding pCARS, ouch... bumper cam really that bad?

Also, no sim will ever be realistic when you push for that last tenth. I'll find a video of Huttu driving a F1 in iRacing and even there he's pushing it in unrealistic manner. If you want to be the fastest (not literally) you have to forget what you know about real life physics and totally adapt to the sim's physics, only that way you'll trully master it.

Edit:
Here, found it.

A sim is not a sim if it can't properly reproduce real life physics as well as real life feel and experience (the scary feel of an evil car for example) in my opinion.

I didn't see one unrealistic thing in that video, just a guy driving at near the limit of an f1 car. You will not see him trail breaking an f1 car round a corner like you can on gt5.

I don't think it's unrealistic ?? In fact the pole position in F1 should be around 1'30" so if Huttu sets a 1'29"75 than it's very close to the real thing !

About the bumper cam in pCars : yes it's very low, like 5cm from the road. Only useable on very flat tracks, and even than the speed is so impressive it's hardly drivable

The only unrealistic thing about that video was that he went up to full speed pretty much instantly as he left the pit, in reality he'd need to warm everything first. Nobody in real F1 drives out the pits that hard.

As for the cameras in CARS, you can adjust every camera, can't you? I don't use bumper in any game but I know I can adjust hood cam to my liking.

I've never seen any F1 driver drive a F1 the way Huttu did in this video.

Which GT5 does exceptionally well.
Yellowbird is the prime example.

@ SimonK

Well you can adjust it in cockpit view, but not with bumper cam i think. Or maybe i didn't even try ?? I'll have to check later 👍

Because.......?

It helps if you explain the problems in detail, "feel" is a pretty meaningless statement.

Well as I say you can certainly adjust the bonnet view and I've played around with the external views before, I don't see why bumper cam would be different. I've just never tried because I never use it in any game.

"Feel" is a subjective thing, let's leave it at that.

Now, I want to know this - how does pCARS work with Fanatec wheels? My biggest problem with PC sims is that I could never get my GT3 RS to work with the sims I tried (Simraceway - the sim didn't recognize my CSP and wheel buttons, BMW M3 Challenge - same as with Simraceway, rFactor - same as with prior two, but when I deleted the driver it kinda worked but I couldn't use the clutch and H shifter).

But you can't just say "I've never seen any F1 driver drive a F1 the way Huttu did in this video." without explaining why.

As for wheels I'm 99.9% certain all Fanatec wheels are supported.

Which GT5 does exceptionally well.

I agree that GT5 was good for its time, but...

The FFB effects from GT5 is horrible and are not as one would expect in real life at all. The tyre model is just as hopeless in my opinion. The sound isn't all that great either in GT5.

Honestly, yes it drives nice. You have a nice big car selection with cars most of us have driven as well.
Yes, GT5 can be fun (though tedious in my opinion). However, it is not a sim anymore by today's standards as there are others out there that get closer to reality.
